While I do consider myself a part of that subset, I prefer pizzas that use 00 flour and have crispy, aerated crusts with good bubble formation that has a slight chew to it, similar to ones fired in true brick ovens or commercial pizza ovens. For that reason, Nicky's was just okay for the price that it was. I probably wouldn't order from Nicky's again because there are so many other places like Tascio's or Northeast.

When we sat down, he mentioned that if we already knew what we wanted to order, we could put everything in at once and the kitchen would pace it out for us ala prix fixe. We did, and the timing was spot-on all night. Nothing felt rushed, and we were never sitting around wondering when the next course was coming. We started with the focaccia, which was fantastic. It was incredibly light and airy, almost like ciabatta, with crisp edges that made it hard to stop eating. Then came the cacio e pepe arancini, crunchy and golden on the outside and creamy and cheesy inside with a delightful almost bernaise like sauce. My better half is vegetarian, so Johnathan suggested an off-menu cacio e pepe pasta for her. It ended up being one of the highlights of the night. Silky, peppery, cheesy, and just ridiculously good. It's such a simple dish on paper, but when it's done that well, you notice. I had the hanger steak, and they nailed it. Great sear, cooked perfectly, with a wine reduction and diced Italian peppers. The sauce and peppers added plenty of flavor without covering up the steak. For dessert, we had the olive oil cake with whipped mascarpone and lime zest. This was probably my favorite surprise of the night. The mascarpone was rich and creamy, and the lime cut through the cake perfectly. I would've happily ordered another one. The cocktails were just as good. We had an espresso martini and A Little Old Fashioned, and both were excellent. I also loved the small touch of serving the Old Fashioned over one big cube stamped with the restaurant's B logo. Great food, great drinks, and genuinely excellent service from Johnathan. Even some bubbly at the end, gratis. We couldn't muster a single complaint about the meal, and why would we try?

Very good pizza!! All toppings cost the same and you can have all you want. Salads are big and you can also put all the toppings you want in it. Employees are very friendly and helpful and the prices are great. We use to eat at Minskeys and now have changed are favorite pizza joint. Pizza, salads, shakes, beer and much more. Best place to take my family for quick pizza. Everyone gets as many toppings as they want on their pizza and there's no complaining about having to eat Dad's roasted asparagus! All this with minimal waiting and the kids can color on stickers if they want. The MOD staff in Liberty rock! Lots of smiles every time I'm there. read more
