They have an extremely limited menu of food but a lot of different types of food. Most of their bakery items are clearly pre-made and baked from frozen (like the kind from Costco) so I opted for a waffle instead. There were no descriptions of what was on the waffles so as I asked about a couple of them. He either forgot at first or was surprised we asked and reacted oddly. I don't eat ice cream on my waffles so I got the Cookie Butter one with whipped cream instead. I also got the Pistachio Pearl iced coffee. I didn't realize it was iced only so I was disappointed when it came that way and discovered my error. I wish he had mentioned it was only offered iced. Hubby got the Avocado Toast and the Dubai Iced Coffee. There was no one in line or waiting when we ordered yet it took 20 minutes to get our food/drinks. I felt the service was poor, the menu items WAY overpriced, and the food was just okay. They really need to work on more unique dishes and not just store-bought, warmed up options. They've done alot of work on the space and it looks great...and I know that their main focus is on the coffee, but we were not thrilled with the hot chocolate: it wasn't hot (merely warm-fish) and it wasn't very chocolate-y, either, and we were surprised that it wasn't better. Champagne Chocolates, just a block or so away, would have been a better choice for us...but we did enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance at Black Cat and we'll be back to sample their coffee on our next visit.
