This is the bartender, watch out for her!
Rocio I.

My boyfriend asked for two green teas and the bartender brought out three. When we questioned the additional serving, she said "it's on the house" However another bartender with curly long hair came up to us with a separate bill. Her attitude was so nasty, according to her she had to charge us for the green teas because she felt like we did not tip her well. She did not even let me finish giving her the tip money and became upset with the singles we had. Don't trust these bartenders. It's the principal behind it. Don't say it is on the house and then charge us for it. I can easily afford 3 green teas, but don't be petty about the situation. First and last time going to this bar. Update: Now Nick the business owner is denying this is "not his business" Please, don't be ridiculous! How do I know the live band there was playing Sway by Dean Martin last night? Why would I make this up?? I am not the only person here complaining about the same bartender! Instead of denying things, why don't you take these reviews into consideration and improve on your business?

Fried clam platter with a Malibu Baybreeze

So nice to go to a place that knows how to fry clams! Yummy clam platter and beverage, great band playing. Sorry all the tables were reserved

I'm not sure of the connection to Herman Melville other than its kind of maybe, near the ocean. That being said, Moby Dick's is the neighborhood bar you wish you had in your town. Stop in for a Warm Greeting & a Cold Beer

Us enjoying another Sat night of live music at Moby's

Love Moby Dicks Service is 5 star, food (pub grub) 4. Cant say enough good about all the servers. You never have to sit there for 5 minutes waiting for a drink like it should be for an establishment that wants to make money they're asking you when your drink is empty would you like another as it should be. And I absolutely love the entertainment there they usually are spot on picking quality bands.

Upon getting there, it is a nice Marina bar that has a grave a lot. We walked shortly from the parking lot and got seats of the bar right away. There was a good amount of people there for a Saturday afternoon. However, we were helped right away. Their beer prices are pretty phenomenal in my opinion. The selection I think is pretty good too. We were speaking with one of the people behind the bar and they said the plan is to also have food trucks here eventually as well for a food option. There is ample seating here as you can see from some of the pictures I took and the two staff we talked to were very friendly. One thing that could be a pro or a con depending on your disposition is that this is an outdoor bar. There are a lot of fans going and it has a very nice breeze. How over on a hot day where something loose and breathable. However, in the spring and fall I can imagine this place having a big crowd because it seems like a really nice place to have a drink and hang out. All in all. If you're local, I would definitely come check this place out. We will definitely be back in the future.

Very pricey for poor quality food. Hostess and servers were sitting at booth in front; not very professional. Casual atmosphere with brewery equipment just for show that was left behind by past restaurant, per our server. Lots of sports memorabilia. Music is OLD music that was putting me to sleep. Not ADA friendly at all. Stairs to enter. No ADA accessible bathroom stalls. Street parking with none marked handicap. Service was good; our server was nice. However, we did receive dirty plates. Our sodas were FLAT but we got fresh sodas after. We ordered pepperoni and sausage pizza but we got sausage and peppers so we had to send it back. Pizza was decent. Crust lacked flavor and tasted like cardboard. Asked for medium cheeseburger, came out well. Calamari was super dry, bland and fishy. Brunch meat plate was okay but nothing special. Bacon was cooked to perfection; nice and crispy. Sausages were hard and dry. Avocado was fresh and egg was cooked as ordered. I don't recommend this place and I definitely won't return. Awful experience, unfortunately.

The building was previously The Century Inn and is one of the oldest continuously operated restaurants in New York City. It has a great history and I think the current bar dates back to the mid 19th century. After the sale a couple of years ago, the new owners kept the German themed menu, beer list and most of the decor. The decor and overall ambiance of the place is great. We were here on a Thursday night at around 6pm. It was empty. I think while we were there, maybe two other tables were occupied. There were a couple of patrons at the bar so it was relatively quiet. The food was ok, nothing special. I had the chicken cutlet Schnitzel which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was pretty bland overall. The vegetables may have come out of a can, not sure though. My cousins ordered the wurst sampler and he said it was fine. Again, the food was okay and not as good or hearty like I remembered it being. I know the spring and summer season are coming and the beer garden will be open soon. They had posters up that had the upcoming music lineup. That was always fun. Check it out if you happen to be out on Staten Island.

They quoted us an hour and 45 minute wait -- way too long -- so we made a game-time decision and went to Miller's Ale House instead. Honestly? Very glad we did. We stopped by on a warmer night after a week of being snowed in, so I'm guessing they may have been caught a little off guard because they were definitely understaffed. We were quoted a 35-minute wait and ended up being seated in about 30, which was appreciated. There were quite a few empty tables, but it was clear they were trying to keep the load manageable for the kitchen. Our server Jack apologized for the backup and genuinely did his best to stay on top of things while juggling a lot of tables -- no complaints about the effort at all. We started with wings, which were solid. For entrées, we had the chicken quesadillas and the steak & shrimp combo -- both were good and hit the spot. Overall, it was a decent experience. Restaurant was clean and well kept. The only real downside was the lack of seating for people waiting -- we had to stand the entire 30 minutes, which wasn't the most comfortable. With a few adjustments on busy nights, this place could easily be a 5-star visit.

I know the restaurant was quite busy, but it should not take 20 minutes for the appetizer to show up. Then our main course arrived. I ordered the flat iron and fried shrimp. The steak was very tender and tasty. The shrimp could be better. My husband ordered the lobster roll. Not too bad. Overall not too bad of a first time experience. Will I visit any Miller's Ale House again? Probably not.
