I have accessibility needs, and when I arrived they told me I'd have to pay $5 cash to park (which I didnt have) in a handicapped spot. It felt frustrating, especially since I drove myself and couldn't just park farther away and walk. After some discussion (thankfully, my friend spoke up), they waived the fee, but it seems like that's the default expectation, which isn't ideal for people with mobility challenges. Also, the venue itself isn't wheelchair accessible, so that's something to keep in mind. That said, the event itself was fantastic. You should definitely arrive early because most of the seating is on one level, and if someone tall sits in front of you, you might struggle to see. There is a balcony area for extra seating, though. The bar is on the pricey side--a soft drink in a 12 oz cup is about $3--but they do offer some alcoholic beverage specials. Overall, I love the storytelling events and will probably keep going, but I hope they improve their accessibility policies in the future

This place was also down the block from our Airbnb so we could walk there. They had a lot of boozy coffee drinks and I really like that. I decided to try their Espresso Martini. This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. We will have to come back here and with all the coffee drinks they had this may well be the place to start our day next time.

An usher approached and offered the option of a complimentary upgraded ticket closer to the stage, which was a nice surprise. Truly feel there are no bad seats in this venue and sometimes bring my small binoculars to see if I'm missing anything (typically I'm not), but usually just sit back and enjoy the great audio quality with no complaints. My only grievance is toward fellow seemingly entitled, self-absorbed, impolite patrons who arrive late for the shows, typically with phone flashlights turned on bright who clumsily attempt to find their seats. They seem oblivious to stomping over other patrons in their quest to access seats they had selected in the middle of the row, loudly talking, and flashing blinding lights around. Rude, Rude, RUDE. I wish theaters would institute holding patrons at the door for specific entry into the theater as a group, perhaps 15 minutes into the show. Also, if you're 30 minutes late to an only 1-hour show, it'd be nice if it was either denied entry or perhaps directed to the back rows of the venue. End of rant. :)

Everyone mentions the ceiling and the faces, which are incredible, but there are so many more details to take in: castle-like doors and faux fireplaces, tile work, angelic statues and a starry sky ceiling in the main theater. Old Forester's Paristown Hall is my favorite place to catch a show in the city right now…read more Established only recently in 2019, I love how much the name (even with a brand sponsorship in it) sounds like an Established 1819 sort of place. It's a modern take on the standing-room-only "Big Rock Show" venue, with well stocked bars on either side of the stage and a cool balcony above (often reserved for VIP standing or sitting, and with its own bar and bathrooms). One of the twists to the venue that is in my understanding still greatly under appreciated is that the Louisville Orchestra collaborated in building Paristown Hall. The stage can fit the whole orchestra, the acoustics are good enough to showcase that, and the A/V system is deep enough capture most of it. How many orchestras in this country have a venue that they can regularly play that gives off "Big Rock Show" energy? Paristown Hall is also the reason that Louisville had one of the few active, working orchestras (and paid salaries to them!) in the country in the early 2020s. (Those live streams meant a lot to me as a fan of live music in those years.) I try to buy any Paristown Hall ticket that sounds even of passing interest. I especially buy a ticket for every Louisville Orchestra show at Paristown Hall before even reading the description, because any show our Orchestra thinks needs to be at Paristown Hall is a show I don't want to miss. (Absolutely my recommendation to everyone: if the Louisville Orchestra is playing at Paristown Hall it will be a treat and you should buy tickets.)

Bag checks and security were efficient and the scan for my ticket QR code made it simple and easy. This venue has a large bar across the entire back wall, which is on the opposite side of the room from the entrance. The restrooms are located on the left front side of the building when facing the bar. A large balcony for the VIP patrons wraps around the second level for more than half of the room in a horseshoe shape. It appears to also have a decent amount of seating. This is in contrast to the ground floor general admission area, which is standing only. Over 2 to 3 hours of standing on a concrete floor is a foot annihilator, but was so worth it to me this time around. Stage was able to be seen fairly well from most vantage points. Projection images of the stage were seen on 2 walls on either side, which helped supplement what we could see. Sound system was top notch. I'm still half-deaf almost a day and a half later. I'll probably take at least some light hearing protection with me to future events. Overall, great venue. Good value. Plenty of nearby parking and places to dine before/after events.

The pros - - no bad seat in the house, but if you're ground level general admission be prepared to stand with us plebs. Seats are for the VIPs and folks who need the accommodation upstairs. Such is life. - Mercury Ballroom is maybe the most intimate large music venues in town. Downstairs GA gets right up by the stage and even 'the back of the room' is only ~20 feet away. - Tickets here are typically quite reasonable. Watch for the $25 show promos that happen once or twice per year. - Friendly staff! - Access to snacks and beverages upstairs and downstairs. - Upstairs accessible by stairs or elevator - Coat check available. The cons - (not their fault, no stars taken) - I struggle to find a selection of great meal options pre-show right now in this theater district part of downtown. Shout-out to the pizza guys down the street for filling my belly pre-show, you're real ones!

But this venue is about as good of this type of venue as you could hope for. It's clean and has a very good sound system. A lot of good acts come through. As it's true throughout the industry, ticket prices are getting crazier all the time. And there are actually options for seating that come at an additional inflated price. So you can drop a lot of money here in a very short period of time. But I've seen a lot of good shows here and will continue to do so.

I hope this place lasts forever.

This establishment shares a parking lot with long time Lousiville staple diamonds and milewide brewing just off Barrett lane in a very popular bar scene in the Louisvilel highlands area. As soon as you walk in downtown his bright yellow establishment the inside ha a contrasting dark lit atmosphere like a movie theatre. That would be because it kinda is a small movie theatre. You walk in downtown heights a hallway filled with nostalgic movie characters and to the left is the full service bar and right in front of you is the seating section with a projector pumping out some of your favorite 80's and 90's cult hits. It was October when me and my buddy Jeremy came here so they was playing a Halloween favorite sleepy hollow. We sat down immediately and glanced at there clever drink menu all themed after cult hit movies and stars of the the two aforementioned decades. My buddy isn't much of a mix drinker so he went with a bourbon and coke. I was feeling nostalgic so I got one of the fun drinks. I ordered a cinna-bite drink (Tito's vodka, coffee and cinnamon). While we waited we browsed around checking out the very cool and nostalgic decor and went on the other side of the bar to check out the rental section to bring back all the nostalgic feels of combing through a blockbuster in our youth. Our drinks came out quickly and our waiter was super nice and helpful. It appeared they had some regulars there for a trivia night and he asked us if we wanted to participate but we had to be somewhere soon. But I'm sure it would have been cool to do. My buddy liked his beam and coke. Classic drink that's hard to mess up. My specialty drink was very good. I'm not a huge coffee guy and the cinnamon and vodka had very good and distinct flavors. Very tasty and potentially dangerous I guess because you would have no idea that drink had any hard liquor in it. Upon leaving I noticed they had a ghost busters hi-c ecto cooler (y'all remember those?) hard drink. When I come back I'll have to try that. I'm sure it's great as well. Overall, awesome place with an amazingly fun and nostalgic vibe. Great and creative drinks and a friendly staff. I can see this being a cool spot to come and hang out when I have more spare time. Highly recommended any child of the 80s/90s to check this place out. You will not regret it.

It was my first time in Louisville and I saw that this place was really close to where I was grabbing dinner, so I wanted to stop by and grab a drink and check this place out. I'm assuming the area this bar is located in is the hipster area of Louisville. I'm not 100% sure, but having lived in Silver Lake (LA, CA) for a few years, there definitely was some recognizable symptoms of a hipster neighborhood. There's different sake beverages on the menu as well as a really solid, albeit small selection of whiskey (with more than reasonable prices too!). I ordered one of the individually packaged sakes and it was tasty. I got to look around and talk to the bartender a bit.
