They were friendly and assured me that the items will be loaded and moved safely. They handled the statues with care and carried them to the backyard and placed them where I wanted. The whole process was smooth and the movers were genuinely willing to help. Their moving costs were pretty reasonable. I am glad that I found reliable help with my moving needs. The prices for most of the movers that I contacted were pretty similar. What set Moving Hearts apart was that they are veteran owned. On moving day, one of the movers was on time, the other was quite a bit late, but true their word, they didn't charge until both were on the job. Some started charging the moment the truck left their facility. While we had already moved what we could fit into our van, for a two bedroom house, there was still quite a bit of stuff. The movers didn't anticipate the amount and they really should have sent a bigger truck. The move was local - 3.5 miles - one end of Old Monrovia Road to the other. It still took 2 1/2 hours, though some of the time was trying to fit everything into the too small truck. It was hot yet the movers didn't take a break - they worked their butts off. There was absolutely no damage on either end of the move - I've never experienced that, even with the most careful movers. They did a fantastic job. I would hire Moving Hearts again in a heartbeat.

However, we did find one mover sitting on his phone on the job, and after they left we quickly realized they put more than half of the boxes in the wrong rooms. We provided directions as things were being brought off the truck and everything was labeled based on the room it should go to. Now, we are having to re-move boxes to different rooms and levels of the home. Also, many of our big electronic boxes were placed on the ground upside down. Again, they were clearly labeled. I raised this issue and the issue I had with the service fee included on the final invoice and a representative immediately got back to us to say he would call to discuss and that they love feedback, etc. BUT, it took nearly two weeks for him to call, and that was after he emailed us once to say he was too busy, and then we followed up to ask why they hadn't called yet. Once the call took place, they offered to reimburse us for a small portion of the bill, which was great and we were feeling better because we had been "heard" about our concerns, BUT it's been another two weeks and we have yet to see that reimbursement. Again, he said he is too busy to drop it off. We love to recommend different businesses to friends and family. Unfortunately, this won't be one of them.

The team they sent us, Monterro, Ted, and Chris were outstanding. Also, I would be remiss not to mention Frank, the guy who put this move together. First off to say these guys moved SLOOOOOOW would be an understatement. It took them more than 5 hours with three guys. So did they need to take apart beds? Nope, this was all done for them before them before hand. Perhaps difficult access? Nope, the apartment was on the first floor. Between the frequent breaks, standing around and complaining we should have known that this company wasn't legit. But there's more, after they loaded up the truck rather than drive across the parking lot and unload, they needed to take a break...no kidding. Then returning to the same complex, they got lost. Yup lost and I needed to go and direct them back to the complex. The story doesn't end there, they damaged much of the furniture they moved...including a brand new leather sofa. Did they step up on the damage they caused? Nope. We've been going back and forth with their claims people for over a month. BTW- we checked out the address for the "Claims Department" and its a Tatoo Parlor. They wanted us to make a claim with the retailer that sold us the sofa rather than MUM stepping up. Then on a custom piece of art that they damaged they suggested that they could get a commercial frame from Etsy though the original piece is clearly a custom framed piece. MY ADVICE TO FOLKS CONSIDERING USING MUSCLE UP MOVERS...just burn your money instead. MUM is the WORST COMPANY we've ever dealt with, inclusive of online retailers etc. These folks are scum bags!

We used HMS for a long distance move and yes there were some items damaged as with all our moves they were by far the most efficient. I recommend HMS, they provide professional service and the employees are polite and helpful and take care with your goods. The loaders and unloaders worked hard and fast. It is a family run business and they provided us with boxes and packing material for the items we wanted to pack ourselves.
