I am blown away at the kindness, and professionalism of all the staff from Motivated Movers. We were in a car accident right before our planned move, so we were not in the best shape to help. We were on limited funds to complete a move from a 1st floor level to a 2nd floor level, so the stairs for us were a nightmare. These guys stayed with us until the end, got everything done We asked for help with and made sure we came in just under budget. They were extra careful with our possessions as though they belonged to them, they were friendly and great conversationalist and that made the day go by so much better. We had a 26' Uhaul to unload and our 50+ year old backs just weren't up to it. We needed some muscle. I looked at Yelp reviews and decided on Motivated Movers because of their great reviews. Trust me, these reviews were right on - these guys were great. I called for a quote. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the girl I talked to but she was friendly and knowledgeable. She listened to my needs, asked a few questions and gave me an immediate quote. The quote was a little higher than I expected, but three days before I needed the help, I wasn't going to argue. The only complaint I do have with the quote was the $85 travel fee. It was under 5 miles. Right now Google maps has the travel time at 11 minutes. Even being generous and giving them 20 minutes each way, we're talking over $2 a minute. Of course they could be charging by mileage which makes the charge over $8 a mile. I should have offered to go pick the guys up - heck, we could even have stopped for breakfast and I'd be ahead $50. We had already unloaded all of the small and loose items so the truck was only about half full. Although there wasn't any furniture, there was a small safe and a number of very heavy crates still onboard. The two guys barely broke a sweat. They unloaded quickly and didn't make a mess. We had a significant amount of rain the previous day and water was starting to get tracked in the house. The guys actually stopped to cover the floor before they proceeded to unload. There is a two hour minimum and our guys were done in about an hour and 15 minutes. (It took us over three hours to load.) They asked several times if there was anything else they could do. (I thought of sending them grocery shopping but I knew my husband would have just rolled his eyes at me!). Hopefully we don't have to move anytime soon but if we do we will definitely use these motivated Motivated Movers again! read more

THIRD UPDATE: 10 November 2023 As we were preparing to set up my roll-top desk......low and behold ZERO hardware for it. When they were at the house I specifically asked several times where the hardware box was. Each time I was told they were putting everything into the front of the truck. Sadly I assumed, my bad, they were being put in the hardware box....I was wrong. I've not found a single piece of hardware except for the 10-12 bolts I took myself and locked in a safe. To top all of this off I called the "corporate" office yesterday to speak to one of the owners, Will. I was told he was in a "compliance meeting" but we would call me back when it was over. It has now been almost 30 hours and no call back. I called the office again only to be told Will has left for a weekend trip to the beach. This nightmare continues! UPDATED: 10 November 2023 I am trying to figure out how to give ZERO or NEGATIVE STARS!!!!!! When Motivated Movers delivered my furniture / household goods they failed to do several things. Rather than go through the aggravation of having someone come out I just did them or planned to do them myself. My three piece glider set, that is heavy and awkward they sat in the driveway and left it. Before anyone mentions the gate, the gate was unlocked and they had taken a few other items back there. Which brings me to the next item. I couldn't understand why they left the door off my outdoor table. Oh well I thought I'll ask my son-in-law to put it on. Today we did that except no we didn't because I now know why they didn't properly put it together.......they broke off one of the pins that the door swings on!!!!! If the propane tank is placed in the carrier as designed the door swings loose. The picture gives a general idea but doesn't fully show the damage. This is the biggest nightmare!! UPDATE: 25 October 2023 This nightmare just keeps happening! As I've delved into the boxes I have discovered that at least 50% of the boxes are not marked to even identify the room!!!!!! My review has changed. The more I thought about it I just couldn't justify two stars. I am a military spouse as well as a retired civil servant spouse. I have moved many times so I know what to expect. I have used Motivated Movers several times since November 2019 and always had excellent service. However that is not the case with this move. The crew was very nice but much slower than previous crews. They were also much less efficient . They completely failed to pack my pantry, part of a cabinet and two drawers. On the second go round they got the pantry and still missed cabinet and drawers. They missed part of a wall in the garage. My daughter and I had to finish. Of my five large screen TVs they wrapped one of them but not the others. I have no idea where all of the remotes, wires, nuts and bolts are. The only one I'm sure of is the master bedroom suite. The "estimate" I was provided in actuality more than tripled. I did add the TVs and my garage but by no means should that have caused the increase. Especially since the job was not 100% complete. I just realized in addition to the issues stated above they debited my account an additional ~$350 that I did not authorize! We also just discovered that some cushions to my porch set were never packed. I'm sad to say this move was a nightmare! In the past I have highly recommended Motivated Movers but I can no longer do that. read more

Unlike the other company I spoke with prior to calling Motivated Movers, the estimates as exactly as quoted over the phone. On the day of the move the guys showed up on time. I called to have the contents of a 2 br/2bth 1100sq ft apartment moved from on building to another IN THE SAME COMPLEX. I listed the contents online and was quoted 6 hours of work totaling @ $1480. Upon arrival, I walked the 3 man crew through the apartment and no comments were made indicating a misquote/change in price. After 9 HOURS to move this 1100sq ft apartment, I was presented with a bill totaling $2157...$700 OVER THE QUOTE. I asked to speak with a manager and was given a phone. The individual on the phone identified as the manager and was extremely rude, unprofessional and unwilling to offer any assistance. When I asked to speak with their boss, the response was "I am the boss!" When I asked for corporate contact information, their response was "I'm not giving you that, you can find out online". I ended the conversation when I was told that "you're starting to get under my skin" as I realized this conversation was pointless. I will say this, I posted a corporate requested review of the situation and received an immediate phone call from the owner. This individual was extremely professional and courteous. They were apologetic and accepted my feedback. I truly appreciate their willingness to work out some resolution and entertain suggestions. We hired to Motivated Movers to move my sons to a new (and better) apartment. Both apartments were on the 2nd floor and Logan, Derrick and Andrew really moved to get the everything in place, help with the washer and dryer and were so very helpful when we decided that the couch really should be on the other wall. Very expensive is my initial reaction. Two guys for three (ish?) hours for a total of almost $900. They were only a total of about 15 pieces of furniture and about 40 boxes - all prepped for the move. They didn't have to pack anything. They used their plastic wrapping on about three pieces of furniture, about 4 blankets, nothing else. No furniture needed to be disassembled or reassembled, no awkward items either. They were slow and took them a while to park their vehicle at the drop off location (flat property). Only one piece of furniture - a dresser - went upstairs everything else was downstairs. I preplanned everything in advance so I knew where every piece of furniture was going in order to make it as easy as possible on everyone and to reduce the time spent. They were super nice guys and I tipped him before they left. About a week later, I realized that the top of my washing machine was badly scratched, pretty much end to end. They didn't use a blanket before they strapped it down, one can easily see. It also looks as though they placed their tools on top of it. Now I cannot sell / advertise my washer as being in excellent or like-new condition. I just had just had it serviced in preparation for the sale. I was really upset. As for the dryer, they stuffed the flex hose for the vent INSIDE the dryer! One could clearly see the hose was dirty and full of lint!! They didn't even ask me! There was lint and other debris all over the floor when I returned to the place I was moving from. I didn't report any of this because I didn't know until about a week later. The appliances were in the garage in prep for the sale (I had purchased two new appliances). It was a week later when I finally had time to photograph the washer and dryer. That's when I saw the scratches and the cent hose. I spent about 45 minutes locating a vacuum cleaner hose and an extension cord to clean out the dryer in order to prep it for sale. Then I had to clean out the vacuum cleaner. I definitely would not recommend this company based on my experience, and would absolutely shop around in advance. I'm still in disbelief regarding the cost of the move from a partially furnished rental to a nearby home - both in Owens Cross Roads, especially when all items were so carefully packed and the placement of furniture, so carefully planned. Those were comments/compliments from the movers! In conclusion, lessons learned! :( read more

These guys moved my son to a new apartment this morning. Excellent job, one bedroom, $450 total. First floor to first floor. Mom and dad aren't up to carrying sofas and dressers and mattresses anymore. We did prep work (disassembled the queen bed) and it made it all quick and easy. Week days are cheaper. TL;DR: if you have anything valuable, pack it yourself. They're fast, but their work is sub par at best. After 10 moves in 3 countries, this is one of the worst moving companIt's I've had the "pleasure" of working with. They were very fast (sub 4 hour times each for pack/load/unload), and stayed within their quote; however that's where pros end And the cons begin. Their packing job was atrocious. As I unpack each box I continue to find new horrors. Turn tables, packed on top of VR headsets (With a single sheet of paper inbetween). 2k in shoes dumped (with no packing/protection) into the bottom of a wardrobe box. Subwoofers and speakers loose in another wardrobe box, bouncing around with my suits. 50% of my clothes in the wardrobe boxes (six total) weren't even hanging on the metal rails. My jackets/coats were in a wardrobe box that didn't even HAVE a metal rail? Why did I pay for wardrobe boxes? My furniture is covered in little nicks and chips that LOOK like regular wear and tear (Especially on top surfaces)...except they're all brand new. They did a good job packing the kitchen (ie pots/pans/glassware), but every other room in the house was haphazardly thrown into to big of boxes. Every foam pillow on my house has been folded and scrunched and won't return to their original shapes... how do you mess up packing pillows? Last but not least, they neglected to label boxes, so outside of the kitchen, everything was in the wrong rooms, doubling my unpack time. I regret every cent I tipped them. If you decide to go with motivated movers, watch them like a hawk. They WILL cut corners, and it's going to lead to fits of rage while you unpack. If you "trey" as the head mover, close the door and ask for someone else. read more

The instructions were simple. Pack and move a 2 bedroom apartment (1250 sq ft) from one side of the apartment complex to another and set up EXACTLY the same way in the new apartment with same floor plan. 10.5 hours and $1,750.00 later I was left with furniture in the wrong rooms, boxes not labeled and in the wrong rooms, beds not set up, boxes with broken bottles hidden in back of the closet and the dryer hose has still not been found. Didn't bring enough supplies, and actually watched them carry a sideboard into the new apartment UPSIDE DOWN. Shoddy work for top.prices. Called and texted the Mgr on Monday to go over move and didn't hear from him until Wednesday halfway through move. Tried to contact him again after the move and tell him my experience and haven't heard from him. Last time I used the company they were an hour late showing up to pick up furniture causing me to be late for business meeting. Gave them another chance after being disappointed previously. 5 movers that were sent to me goofed off the entire time... on top of that they broke a 65in tv. When asked for a refund, the manager gives me less than half of what a new tv is.. I never leave reviews but I literally cannot sleep because of the feeling that I have been taken advantage of. My husband is in the military and got called away to training right before we had to move so I had to go it alone with my active 9 month old. I was very anxious about it, so for a week I worked until midnight or later packing EVERY SINGLE THING and labeling EVERY SINGLE ITEM even the large things like the lawn mower and a tall stuffed animal giraffe. I wanted to streamline the move because I was alone with no family in the area. I staged everything except the large furniture pieces in our garage so it would be a "lift up the door and let's roll" type of situation. My home was 1600 sqft with estimated 30-50 boxes, which I told them via phone. I was scheduled over the phone, with no onsight estimate for 1pm-3pm. I even opted for a 3 man crew for $140 per hour, that's how much I just wanted it done quickly. The guys showed up at 1230p which was great and I went over paperwork with leader of the crew, he literally said to me "I don't see it taking a really long time" and "your unload should go quickly" AND "you are 10 times more organized than most people we see" which made me feel good about my efforts to clear the house. They began to load the truck and in the middle I was even asked "is there anything in the shed (in my backyard)?" I said nope proudly and that I brought it all up to the garage, to which the mover replied "you did good!". 3 hrs later the truck was still being loaded and the owner or boss named Ben even came by. It was evident that the truck was too small. He began haphazardly putting things on trying to help the guys I guess. He was nice and shook my had and asked me about the Phase 3 gym shirt I had on and left. When Ben left one of the guys said to me "if anything is broken just let me know because he (Ben) was kinda throwing stuff on the truck". At around 330p, the crew left to get a break and a cool drink. A few things were left at my house and a second trip would need to be made. Things that were left included; my 4 32in flat screen TV's, push mower, breakfast table and dining room table, 3 boxes (2 with linen, 1 with decor), and a miter saw. About 45 minutes later the crew made it to my new home and started to unload the truck. Here is where things took a turn. The truck was being unloaded item by item. Literally my son's table top bouncy seat weighing like 2lbs was being walked in by it's self with 1 hand. It was so ridiculous that my friend who came to visit me at the new house called two of the crew members out and said "why do you have that one little thing in your hand?" they chuckled. They didn't empty the truck completely but just enough to fit my remaining things that we're left at the house, and they left again to get those things. This took about an hour. I even ordered a pizza, it was delivered AND I ate it before they even got back. I have a receipt. They have all of my earthly possessions on this truck and I'm alone with my kid. They dragged the unload until 745p and ALSO broke my 40 year old buffet table! Then bring me a bill for over 1k dollars with no deduction for the broken furniture. I told them that I wasn't going to be able to do that and I asked to speak with the manager. He was pretty unconcerned and a bit insulting saying "you could have told them to stop", "do you have and family or friends to borrow the money from?" AND even acknowledged that he saw all of my things loaded on the truck and wasn't sure why it took 5 more hours to complete the job ... Your crew has everything I own on a truck, I'm standing here with an infant, and that's your answer? I immediately called my husband who is at military training, to help me navigate this. He called Ben himself knowing that this was clearly a case of a woman being completely taken advantage of, slow walking this move. Ben's answer was not to reduce the price but agreed to break it up into 2 payments as we were not prepared to pay for an eight hour move 12 miles away. I'm sick to my stomach about what occurred yesterday. read more
