Alpha - aka Rutland's. They changed their name as their yelp ratings were 2 stars. This is why...
They do not care about your classic car, nice paint, your instructions, or your time.
1957 Thunderbird ford-o-matic. Very simple transmission. Warranty & work not worth the paper it's printed on. Spent $2k on a bench job rebuild. Installed in the car and would never shift correctly. Was told for over two months to wait until bringing the car back for warranty repairs.
When I finally did get in, they kept my car for over a month and did nothing except rig the transmission linkage to try and mask the actual problem. They drilled a hole in my throttle bracket to hook a spring to the carburetor -- after I told them not to modify anything. Total hacks.
They play the waiting game. I finally gave up as it was obvious their intention was to never fix my car, and was only risking more damage in their shop.
I dropped the pan & valve body, and discovered the issue - throttle valve installed incorrectly. This had a devastating upstream effect on the transmission & throttle linkage. Multiple parts bent and damaged. Once I reinstalled the valve correctly per the shop manual (with i did provide to them and they insisted they did NOT need - big red flag), everything works as advertised. No more excessive late shifting and binding throttle.
When I called to tell them what I had found and they had refused to correct, the response was they had 'changed owners'. How convenient.
