My puppy died at this facility! Terrible and heart breaking…read more The second day my puppy was at this facility (Happy Dog Day Camp) on Tudor, she was brought to the local emergency vet dead. Equally appalling and unacceptable is that it took the owner approximately two days to get back to me in regards to what happened. It took 15 days to finally find out what happened to my dog and APD had to get involved. My 5 month old puppy was attacked by another dog, and according to the autopsy, died a traumatic death. There are no cameras at this facility that could have put an end to this tragedy. There are no words that can describe the pain my family and I have gone through. If you love your pets, do not board them here.

Even though we did a meet and greet, our dog reacted poorly during the first visit while we were away -- putting Melanie in an extraordinarily difficult position -- but Melanie was extremely communicative and worked with us to figure things out while we were away. Aside from being caring and flexible, she has been willing to put in an incredible amount of work with our dog and is actively helping us with our training goals! Our dog loves her and so do we! When I dropped my dogs off, the trainer admitted he hadn't read the paperwork. He promised daily video and photo updates but sent only one video on the first day. After repeated follow-ups, I received a few photos and excuses about bad weather. By the second week, communication had stopped entirely. When I visited, my dogs showed no progress after nearly two weeks of training--one was fearful, and both ignored commands. The trainer used an e-collar, admitting to "shocking" them despite the company's website claiming the collars only "buzz." His handling was harsh; he repeatedly popped the leash and appeared frustrated. One of my dogs was also injured after escaping flimsy fencing into a neighbor's yard with aggressive dogs, located near a busy road. The owner later agreed with me that the training should cease and only boarding continue, admitting that the trainer's methods were not in line with company policy. He said he would discuss the issue after boarding ended. The trainer also admitted to forgetting my dog's medication multiple times. Despite being told training had stopped, I continued receiving photos that suggested it had not. After the program ended, I was told the trainer had been fired. The company offered another training program, but I declined due to the unprofessionalism and possible mistreatment. I requested a partial refund to pay for boarding even though the company advertises 100% guarantee. The owner initially offered $2,000 back but has ignored all follow-up messages and I have received nothing. I also feel that $2,000 for 3 weeks of boarding, with possible mistreatment is high. This company is misleading, unprofessional, and unsafe. There was no actual kennel--just a home with inadequate fencing and little supervision. Do not make the same mistake that I did.

I like that they also have kennel-less boarding, so that the dogs have the run of the place instead of possibly being stuck next to some incessantly barking dog in the run next to them (which I've seen at a number of kennels), and they have a person there with them the whole night that they can curl up next to. The bonus of being able to use them for both day care and boarding is that your dog is comfortable in a place they know with people they know and love when you have to go away. Two thumbs up!
