After finding a screw in my tire, I took my car to Sullivan's, as it was where I'd bought tires before, and they told me a repair wasn't possible. I didn't really believe that since the screw was in the tread. So I asked a good friend if they knew a good mechanic and she referred me here and said it was the only place they went for such things. I was already in the car, so I just stopped in to see if they thought it was fixable. Rob came out, took a look at it and then disappeared into the shop. He came out with a little toolkit and repaired my tire right in the parking lot. Then he told me to back up so he could put air in the tire. When I asked him what I owed him, he said, 'no charge.' I'll be back. And thank you, Rob! Should've come here in the first place!

He was quick, efficient, professional, and even checked the air on all of my other tires to make sure that there wasn't a slow leak in the rest of them. It's got a flavor of old school gas stations where a swarm of men would surround like you see in old school movies. Very friendly staff. There can be a line though as they can have very competitive prices. Another plus! Oh and free air! Sweet! There is a service station as well that does oil changes and other auto repair. They have a AAA tow truck service out of the location as well. A couple years ago my car died at an intersection near the shop and one of their tow truck drivers stopped and got me and the car out of the middle of the road and to the service station. I've always been very happy with their service as well. Bill is great as are the other mechanics I've dealt with.

Tiny little place, just 4 pumps, one of which refused to read my credit card and I was too lazy to…read moremove my car to a different one, so I went inside to pre-pay, where it was a pleasure to interact with a nice friendly funky boogying Jamaican dude manning the cash register. A quick Google Maps search of "gas prices near me" (beats the bejesus out of that useless adware-bloated "Gas Buddy" app, btw) is what led me to this place...and to quote Arnie in his prime: "I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!" :) Seriously, this was a nice find. I do come out to this side of town a few times a week and this place saves me a long drive through traffic to find similarly low priced gas from places like A.L. Prime in Woburn (down the freeway from BJ's), and is convenient to the Market Basket and Costco in Waltham as well, both locations of which are also much easier to get to without the horrible traffic snarls of Everett, Chelsea, Somerville, etc. Their only con is not being open 24hrs like the aforementioned AL Prime, and not being too bright/clean/big inside but you can't have everything, and outside of some dire emergency, I'd never buy anything from a gas station except gas anyhow.

Reading the reviews from the other Shell (also on Main Street) in Waltham, I thought this one…read morewouldn´t be much better. And I wouldn´t have EVER stopped here in a million years if I hadn´t been in the area and didn´t need to use my Stop&Shop points, which are valid to use at any Stop&Shop station (the closest to here being in Brookline, which I was NOT willing to go all the way to), or any Shell. As there are 3 Shell stations in Waltham (2 on Main St and one on Waverly Oak Rd), I found the closest one to The Chateau, where I was ultimately going to as well as some other stops throughout the City of Waltham, and decided this location, close to Watertown was the best. The only complain I have about this gas station is the access points. Driving from Route 20 West, it is difficult to enter and only accessible by turning left at the following traffic light and turning left into the small entrance, which is normally bombarded by cars. Exiting is much easier (onto either Warren Street or Barbara Rd). Service inside is friendly and understandable (not people who can´t speak English!). Prices are good and even better if you use your Stop&Shop card. In comparison to other reviews for the other station, this one is MUCH better. 5 stars.
