The portions were large, and the chicken was really good. I had the teriyaki and katsu chicken meal.

It wasn't too busy, maybe because everyone was out trick-or-treating, so it was a super relaxed vibe with nice decor and plenty of indoor seating. Parking can be a little trickier, but there's a lot and plenty of free street parking since it's downtown, so look for street spots. Don't park in the Dr Pepper Museum lot though, because they'll charge you. The staff were great: kind, welcoming, cheerful, and happy to walk us through the menu. It's the same L&L as the rest of the chain, so you know what quality to expect. Two entrée combo (~$17, 8/10) - You pick two meats and it comes with two scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad, which was plenty to share between two people - Chicken katsu was fantastic, super crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, and they bring extra katsu sauce on the side that's delicious. You really can't go wrong with the katsu - Kalua pork was solid. The cabbage was juicy and flavorful, though the pork itself was a little stringy, but still very tasty - Mac salad and rice were both great, exactly what you want from a plate lunch Overall, definitely recommend this spot. It's super convenient in downtown Waco, right near all the sights, with fair prices, great portions, and good food.

Quick service, good food. I come here regularly on the weekends for the good service and easy food.read more

Everything else we've tried has been pretty high up there too. Service is super quick, and the guy at the front is always attentive and friendly. The space is roomy, comfortable, and has plenty of seating. The menu is pretty large, but somehow everything is spot-on every time. Definitely our favorite Hawaiian BBQ spot. Even though the employee had yet to interact with me, I am prompted for a gratuity. The photos showcasing the menu items were not helpful. For instance, the photo for the Kalua Combo showed a chicken dish and Kalua Pork. When I was prompted for a chicken item, there were no photos. I could not select the chicken shown in the entree. Unlike the online menu which included Teriyaki Chicken, I only recall BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu as options. Fortunately, I opted for the Chicken Katsu. For my beverage, I chose a Hawaiian Sun canned drink. My order was served within 9 minutes. The service already did not match the gratuity. When I asked about my drink, I was pointed to the display case by the kiosk. Sadly, beverage delivery was neither one of her responsibilities nor included service. On their menu, "veggies" was included in various entrees. Veggie would have been a better description as the only vegetable was cabbage leaves. The cabbage was placed underneath the chicken and pork. The water from the cabbage caused the bottom portions of the meat to be soggy. Due to being breaded, the chicken was not as affected as the pork. Of the items served, I enjoyed the macaroni salad the most. It had plenty of flavor. The Kalua Pork which were not soaked in cabbage juice had an okay taste. Not only did the breading on Chicken Katsu provide flavor, it protected the chicken meat from being soggy. While a fork was served with my food, I had to grab a knife from the dispenser. The Chicken Katsu could have been eaten with a fork alone; the cabbage would have been difficult.

I found this place on yelp and decided to try it because of the reviews. I'm glad that I did. First of all I really liked the friendly service. They had Hawaiian music playing so I really felt at home. I let the guy at the register know that I was from Hawaii and he asked if I could taste the food before I left and give him a review. We had ordered the Aloha Family Meal. It comes with 7 scoops of rice, 4 scoops of Mac salad and 3 proteins. We had chicken katsu, kalua pork and kalbi. We paid an extra $2.99 to get the kalbi. It was worth it. I tasted everything and was happy that I chose this place to eat at. Everything was great. This meal is for 4 people but there was only 2 of us. We have a lot of leftovers for the plane trip home. I got some gravy to put on the rice and katsu. They have katsu sauce and curry sauce if you want. I tried the katsu sauce and it's a little different from Hawaii. The curry sauce that they have is a green curry. I really only like Japanese curry so I didn't try it. The rice that they use is calrose and this is what's supposed to be used. I spoke with the owner Andy and he was very friendly. He ended up giving me 2 spam music. I can't wait to eat it on the plane. If I ever come back to Dallas I will stop by as soon as I get off of the plane. People please stop by and give them a try. You won't regret it.

They have the "mini" as well as regular; me being small, I always go for the mini portions of chicken curry katsu or the loco moco. Nothing spectacular about each dish, but it all tasted the way it was supposed to taste. Even the mac salad was on point. I didn't want to order the poke as I am not used to ordering it like it was some kind of custom salad lol. If you are from Hawaii, you know what I mean lol. The prices were reasonable for the type of food and the portions. They even sell juices from back home as well. We will be to try other local dishes. Staff are friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at and lots of parking available.

A favorite for me, always worth a quick fifteen to twenty minute drive for good food…read more I usually get an order to go, I've been going here since they first opened & they always been consistent with fresh food & ingredients with wonderful service. My base is typically white rice, it's always soft & fluffy, never old. There are a lot of poke options, I'd recommend any of the shoyu, hawaiian, or caviar ones. The others ones I just haven't tried. Their seaweed toppings is great, I love that these are in strings versus the flat seaweed pieces that other places have. Avocados are fresh, never browning & the crab salad is a must. I do miss that they no longer offer masago for a topping, but I'm sure there's a reason whether it's accessibility or price. Friendly staff, quick service. I paid about $17 total for a regular bowl (two poke scoops, up to 5 toppings), not a bad price with a large portion. If you like poke, I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

You can pick a regular or large bowl with either salad, brown rice or white rice as your base or half/half. I had a regular bowl with spicy salmon, which was good! I don't usually eat raw, but the guy behind the counter said it was one of his favorites. They can let you sample it first before you pick it for your protein. My bowl contained spicy salmon, cooked shrimp, jalapeños, green onions, crab meat, and seaweed salad. Everything is so fresh! They have different toppings and sauces you can choose from. They were out of avocado today, :( bummer. The inside was clean, and just a quiet atmosphere. The employees are friendly, and answer any questions you may have. It's a little hidden gem.
