I will say if you're claustrophobic, this pod isn't for you as it's constricting a bit (they have you place your arms and legs in these slots to be massaged. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at all. Before booking, I called and was told they would help us figure out which treatment would be best. Once there, we were told I had an oily scalp/cuticle and dandruff and was encouraged to add additional treatments for an extra $20. From the beginning, there was also a strong push to upsell facials, but very little explanation about what the facials actually included. Because of the language barrier, it did not feel comfortable agreeing to additional services we did not fully understand. The actual scalp massage was extremely aggressive. They started with shoulder and neck massage, then moved to the scalp. The pressure was way too intense. I had to ask multiple times for her to lessen the pressure because it felt more like my hair was being tugged and scraped than massaged. Toward the end, they used some type of rolling contraption on my scalp that was also uncomfortable. I genuinely cannot imagine how painful it would have been if I had not spoken up. The experience also was not very accommodating for curly hair. During the blow dry, I ended up detangling my own hair because it seemed like she did not know how to handle curly hair properly. Most importantly, my mom had an even worse experience. It has now been over 24 hours, and her scalp is still so painful she cannot even touch her head comfortably. She has bumps and tenderness like her scalp was bruised. Update ! 72 hours later and her poor head still hurts. A scalp treatment should not leave someone feeling injured afterward. This was not relaxing, soothing, or spa-like in any way. It honestly felt rough and overly aggressive from start to finish. I would never return to this location, and I strongly encourage people to speak up immediately if the pressure feels too intense.
