They left at least two holes in the side of the house and just caulked the layers underneath where other shingles should have been put. The estimate came way below the other 2 we got. We didn't go with them because if price.... but the initial inspection. The crew of 5 guys were amazing. They arrived at 8 and got right to work after setting up. No radios, no one smoking and no breaks till 12 noon. An hour tonthe minute they were back to work. We had an issue with wood roof members and I decided to re apply the entire roof with new wood. We weren't taken advantage of and still came below the other estimates. Clean up at 6 each night WS done in a manner you'd never really know they were there. When we needed the additional wood it arrived in time for the install. We renovated our home and added a substantial wrap around porch. We worked with an architect to…read moredesign the porch, and had a really hard time finding a contractor that was responsive and seemed to want the job. Leader was a little more expensive than some bids we got, but I honestly think when changing the face of your house, you get what you pay for. Leader dealt with the City, the permits, the architect, and managed every detail of the project. Lauren dealt with permits and the front end of the project (because I knew nothing when we started all this), and Kaitlyn (construction manager) managed all the contractors and worked with us to deal with contingencies as they arose. We replaced the windows and door on the front of the house. We excavated 14,000 pounds of concrete stairs (layered for over 100 years), we replaced the siding on the front. We had roofers and electricians to deal with. The carpenters that built the porch (Zenon!!!) were masterful and executed the architectural plans perfectly. The structure and roof were completed in 6 weeks start to finish. I appreciate how communicative Leader is, I appreciate how carefully and neatly their contractors worked, I appreciate that every single person who worked on our property was incredibly professional. We absolutely adore our porch. It looks like a totally different house. We couldn't be more pleased with the work of this excellent company.

The…read morehome was left in pretty bad shape by the previous owners of 30 years, and the scope of work was extensive and daunting: gut and reno of a dated, compact bathroom; refinish of three wallpaper and horse hair plaster bedrooms; refinish worn hardwood floors; creation of custom laundry closet; new heating and hot water system; construction of new egresses; installation of new windows; etc. We loved his subcontractors. We purchased several natural stones for our bathroom renovation, and Carlos installed them with great care. He took the time to hand select individual pieces of stone from the 1' x 1' mesh to finish the edges of our walk-in shower. And Fred, Dave's plumber, is a gem. It's obvious he takes great pride in his work, and it really came through in the installation of the new heat and hot water systems in the basement. He even took the time to point out and explain some of the home's plumbing history (e.g. down spout for the old ice box!) We really enjoyed working with Dave. We gave him a high level vision of what we wanted, and he knew how to execute. This is our first home--first purchase and first renovation--and there were numerous times I thought to myself, "I'm not sure if we could've made it without Dave". He was timely, considerate, and always available. He gave us great recommendations for paints, fixtures, and accessories. The bottom line: We'll absolutely be doing more work on our home in the future, and we won't look to anyone but Dave.

We were very pleased with the outcome. I want to especially recognize the stellar work done by Bryan Lamoureux, head carpenter. For years, I had nightmares that the second floor of the house was going to collapse. When Bryan took the kitchen ceiling back to the bare joists, he found out that somebody had cut massive holes in those joists to run a pipe through them. This made the house structurally unsound. Bryan showed us the holes and proposed a solution to make the house sound. The "bounce" that we experienced while walking around on the second floor disappeared, and so did my nightmares. Bryan is a superb young carpenter with old-school knowledge and values. Thank you, Bryan! I also want to recognize kitchen designer Jane Scammon.
