On my way to Vermont, had a very positive experience. He offered us a free bag of chips. Will definitely be back.

Awful. Always have to go in for receipt. No fluid/squeegees (or maybe the bums who sit outside…read morethe front door took them). 24 hours unless employees decide to lock the doors and take a break for hours.

Formerly an independently owned Hess Express, this Speedway was remodeled and updated, which offers the typical convenience store items including a variety of snacks, candy, cold fountain drinks, coffee, hot dogs, tornadoes, cigarettes, lottery tickets, and a walk-in beer cave. I stop at this Speedway location often whenever I'm passing through Troy on Route 7 to gas up my ride, junk food, and for cold fountain drinks (69 cents plus tax-any size up to 64 oz). I use my Speedy Rewards Card here to earn points for free stuff and various clubs such as the Frito Lay Club (Buy 4 bag snacks Get 1 Free up to $4.29) and Beverage Club (Buy 6 drinks Get 1 Free) over separate or same visits. There are 6 gas pumps/12 vehicle fueling positions under the lighted canopy. When it was an independent Hess Express (Casale), this store was not my favorite because they tended to charge more for snacks and fountain drinks than most other Hess Express locations including the other Troy location (also now a Speedway) on Burden Ave. The other Troy Speedway location is not 24/7 and closes around 11PM. I was in here late night recently before midnight and the place was hopping and busy. I went inside to refill my big 64 oz Soda Cup for 75 cents and I had to listen to this one dude swearing on his phone going like "F--k this! F--k that! I don't need this bullsh-t!..." while filling up for big drink cups at the soda fountain for his crew (not in the store). I waited a bit until he was all set and quickly filled up my big soda cup, paid and got back on the road.

When it gets busy, there can be a bit of a line waiting your turn. Even though there are pumps set up for gas tanks on both the driver's and passenger's sides, and arrows suggesting how to enter and exit, you always have those folks who will ignore the arrows and those waiting in line to back into a spot or drive around and come in from the back. Watch out for those folks. I'm docking them 1 star for bad signage. The sign before entering the gas area was definitely out of date. It showed a gas price fifteen cents lower than today's actual price. I'm wondering whether they're short staffed, too lazy to update the sign, or whether they think folks will be more interested in getting gas, then learning the price is higher but will stay anyway. C'mon, everyone coming here is already a BJs customer and knows the price is lower. The do need to remember one other thing... the Costco opening a couple of miles away in 2026 will also sell gas.

It also shows up as a wholesale club rather than as a gas station on credit cards, generally lowering the cash back. The tap and and pay payment feature on the pumps doesn't work, and pumps are frequently out of service. Overall, the lower price makes up for it. One thing I've heard is that busier gas stations get refilled more often, so the sediment never has time to settle, and the gas is not as clean. I don't know if that's accurate or not, but I haven't had any issues here.
