It was 40 minutes before they were scheduled to close so they were out of a few items but it was ok. They still had what I mainly wanted. I went with the cabbage the potato salad and chicken curry. It was a lot of food and man was it DELICIOUS!!!! The potato salad came as a recommendation from the lady behind us in line. I'm glad we listened. Creamy but not overly done. The cabbage was nicely seasoned and not mushy. The chicken curry was spiced nicely. It had a nice bit of curry heat but not too intense. The portion for the amount you pay was well worth it. It honestly was some of the best Jamaican food I have ever eaten. If I was in the area I would definitely be a regular here. Be sure to check this place out.

Missing my home cooking, I decided to give it a try. I got jerk chicken with rice and peas and, unintentionally, the potato salad. I wanted the coleslaw but it seems that the young lady in the front misheard me, and she looked less than willing to correct the error, so I took the L and kept it moving. My food tasted like an Americanized take on a common Jamaican dish, so I wasn't very impressed, but I didn't get my hopes up, considering the area that it's in. A few items on the menu were definitely over priced, but again, there's no competition nearby, so there's that. I am happy to see that some island flavors are making their way to the Midwest, and I hope that the business grows, both in authenticity and popularity.

Checked them out in June and came back this week for a Birthday party and they are getting better and better. The milkshakes are on point. The chilidogs were flying and disappearing pretty fast too. I am excited to see what comes next for Frostbite's.

PP is the perfect little boutique to visit when you are planning your next special event/party. You'll not only find unique decorations, but you'll also find great gift ideas. The day I shopped, I found great greeting cards, which I love to send snail mail and a fun trivia game. The card game was, Food & Drink Trivia. A perfect game for a foodie. I wish I would have bought two and added the second one to my gift drawer. It would make a perfect gift for one of my foodie friends. I'll be honest, the customer service was a little off. The young lady working stayed behind the counter and really did not interact with us until one of dropped something and when I went to check-out. If she came out from behind the counter and interacted with us, she could have made additional sales. I also find it weird that their phone number is not on the business card and not posted on their website. I'm old school and sometimes, you just want to talk to a real person instead of doing e-mail.

There are two bars, one on the lower level and another in the main room. The bartenders, were well skilled in their craft. It was an open bar, so they had to hustle to keep up with the thirsty guest. Eclipse Catering is part of, The Atrium, so they did the dinner and it was excellent. We started out with a small Caesar Salad. Guest got to choose between chicken or steak as their entree. I chose steak and it was fork tender, so I really did not need to use the steak knife they provided. It came with two-sides, Roasted Potatoes and Purple Carrots. Both were excellent choices. The serving of dinner went smoothly, The servers knew which entree each guest requested, because the words chicken or steak were written under our name of the place cards. A simple detail like that can make things so easy. For the size of the space, I was impressed with the acoustics. When the wedding party gave their toast, they were easy to hear. Also, when the DJ started playing music to get the party started, there was no echo. If you're in need of a party/event space in downtown Columbia, look no further, The Atrium on Tenth is the place for you.

This is a really cool building which houses artists studios. It also opens to the public…read morefrequently to have receptions and showcase its artists' work. The building is somewhat industrial-looking, like a warehouse/small factory converted into art studios. The mastermind behind this conversion, a thin, charming gray-haired man with glasses (I can't remember his name!) is an artist himself and crafted the enormous sliding doors to each artist's studio. Each door is custom, unique and impressive. It utilizes ordinary and construction materials in sort of a flat, yet dimensional sculpture. The lighting is professional. The building's exterior has few opaque walls, and uses tinted windows from floor to ceiling in most cases. The artists featured here are all either aspiring or actual professional artists. I find most of them to be very talented. The famous MIssouri water-colorist Paul Jackson maintains a space here. Come here on a weekend during the art crawls, or artrageous friday's or whenever this place opens its doors. There's usually free wine and cheese and you can talk to the artists (and maybe buy their work!).
