From the start this company seemed a little disorganized, but in my desire to support local businesses and in light of their glowing reviews on their website, I decided to hire them to cater my wedding. Big mistake. They were late, they undercooked the rice (a fourth of the meal) and even though I had made them aware that we would be having Muslim guests and would need a non-pork option 5 months prior to my event, they mixed the pork with the chicken, leaving our guests with barely any options for food. When I contacted them to let them know how dissatisfied I was with their services, they told me that they had lost money on catering our wedding (apparently it was also my job to quote myself a fair rate?) and would not be able to issue me a partial refund as requested. They also seemed to think that their complete lack of communication in the company was somehow my responsibility as well as i received most of the blame for them mixing the pork with the non-pork option. Their response to my issues was that because there were four dishes available at the wedding (rice, meat, veggie kabobs, and lumpia) that our guests had plenty of other options even though two out of the four were prepared incorrectly and that nothing could be done at this time. Before booking this vendor, I made sure to ask if they were equipped to prepare Filipino-style food. I was informed that this would not be a problem and that they had prepared this kind of food before (I am not sure how you could possibly successfully prepare an Asian meal without knowing how to cook rice properly as most dishes are designed to be served over rice, but apparently that is no concern for Mark and Sarah). Because our family and friends are a diverse group of people, I wanted to make sure that everybody felt welcomed by our meal choices. My Filipino in-laws couldn't get past the uncooked rice, and my muslim friends were clearly unable to eat anything but the veggie kabobs and uncooked rice (lumpia has pork in it). I literally cannot think of 2 bigger mistakes to make in this situation and to top it off they were late. The manner in which this was handled by both Sarah and Mark was wildly unprofessional leaving me holding the bill for a meal that was not what I ordered and barely edible. Of all my wedding vendors, this is the one I regret. As a bride it is a terrible feeling to know that the topic of conversation for your in-laws was how terrible the rice was and how hungry they were after they left. Sarah and Mark seem to think it is totally acceptable to charge full price and prepare their meals incorrectly with no real apology even. Call me crazy, but when the bill is in the thousands, I expect it to be prepared correctly. I would avoid this vendor like the plague if you want your wedding or other event to be a success. read more
