We went there tonight for dinner, under staffed. Waited forever just for our drinks. We sat at the counter and watched some pretty disgusting things. There was a mistake on a pizza and watched the cook pick off the toppings that clearly were a mistake with his bare hands. He flipped a pizza in the oven by mistake and used his bare hands to try to fix it. My husband ordered a pasta dish the was under cooked and cold. We have been going to this restaurant since it opened. Think this will be our last visit. read more

This place is a perfect spot for a quick lunch, date night, or big group setting (if their patio is open)! Their pizza, pasta, salads, and drinks are all great. My favorites have been their spaghetti, spicy chicken pizza, and the burrata salad. They have a big, spacious, open patio, and their interior is loud but vibey. Low lights and close tables. The service is pretty great too. I've never had a bad experience here. However, if you're the type of person who doesn't like to wait, I would try and make reservations if you can. However, the star of the show was the artichoke dip and ice cream trio. That dip was the best I have ever had! I want to slather it on everything. I think y'all need to make the dip portion double for the amount of focaccia you give. And because it's that good. And that bread...don't even get me started. It was warm, garlicky, and doughy- not crispy like most places serve with that dip. That caramel ice cream that comes with the trio- you guys are sitting on a gold mine! The fresh fruit at the bottom of the ice cream really makes this delightful. The homemade cookies on top are such a nice touch and add great texture. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or it's an "experience" restaurant but it seemed to take a long time to get our food (ordered at 6:30 and received food at 8). There were several other parties around us that seemed to have a long wait as well. Our waitress sensed our frustration and offered us a free dessert, one. Let me start with the negative and state that they need to teach communication to their wait staff. After ordering my salad and pizza, my salad showed up 25 min later and pizza took 50 minutes from time of order. I would have been fine with that but in between my waitress disappeared and never provided an update as to when my food should be expected. When i finally received my food is when i was able to ask, they said that the chefs can only have 3 pizzas at a time in the oven....seems like they need to invest in a second oven....??!! Anyway, salad was great, pizza tasted good, just be ready to wait for your food! I was able to take advantage of the patio, they have a large seating there and less noisy than inside. The food was heavily salted, even the salad. Although it was homemade, it was not very good. The server did ask how we enjoyed the food when she came by. The only seating available was in a cramped area surrounded by strangers or at the bar. The pizza had a burned crust on the outside and was doughy on the inside. No matter how you prefer the dough, some part of the pizza will be affected. Be prepared for an additional fee that won't be included in the check provided after the meal. As for the timing, it took 42 minutes from when we sat down until we received our pizza. I recommend bringing a book to pass the time. read more

Tonight was our first time to try MJ Pizzeria. Our group of five was sat in less than ten minutes, considering a Friday night, I was stoked. The server came around and was friendly. We ordered meatballs and fancy bread appetizers. Both of those were good, but it took about as long to get the appetizers as it would take to get entrees somewhere else. We finished the appetizers and began the wait. The never ending wait. We were there and we waited. Nearly an hour we waited to get the pizza. Wood fire does take longer and we knew this, but this was beyond. Ambiance is kinda off for me because there isnt any music muffling the background conversation. It was kinda loud with voices like a party or indoor sports. While there I saw someone get a carry out pizza and it was $26 and I would consider getting the same thing I ordered tonight, but carry out. The cost is expensive, especially for a group around 20-25 a person. Our party has water except for me having a single beer and the cost for our group of five was around $120. Although the appetizers and pizza were very good, and the toppings were really high quality, for me, especially with kids that would prefer dominoes, it is not worth the wait or the expense. read more
