That said, perhaps I am not far along enough, but did not find anything too challenging. After reading so much about staying active and getting your heart rate up this is better than nothing, but do not come intending to break a sweat. At $33 per class the manager should purchase new pink mats as I was forced to buy toe socks for "sanitary reasons". The mats were full of holes and stained and not cleaned between classes- big turnoff...*especially* for someone concerned with sanitary issues. ... The toe sock requirement should have been mentioned on mindbody (there are a number of opportunities on MB to do so) prior to booking or in the LONG text message I received with directions. I have never worn toe socks to pilates before...but like I said it is not really pilates. Given the lack of prenatal offerings in the area I see why this gets glowing reviews, it is nice to be able to socialize with other mothers. Also I was charged $20 for what is $16 on Amazon. I highly recommend them for all moms - new or experts. Sleep is so important for little ones and having the tools I learned in baby massage and the sleep workshop have helped my husband and I get much needed sleep.

That's…read morewhen I decided to have a VBAC and thought that prenatal yoga would be critical in achieving an easier and natural birth. What I found was much more important than just a yoga class, I found a community! Debra is an amazing childbirth educator! I enjoyed the yoga classes because it wasn't just about yoga - it was about the whole birthing process. My husband and I also took her Hypnobirthing class which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Debra gives insight on all things birthing. When I talked to her about my VBAC plans, she recommended that I see Dr. Sancetta, who is widely known in the South FL community for VBACs. Sure enough, in my 34th week, after my initial consultation with Dr. Sancetta, I changed medical providers. My first baby came via c-section after a long 30 hour labor. I pushed for 3 hours and she never moved an inch. My doctor at the time told me that I had a "small" and "tight" pelvis which is why Baby #1 got "stuck". He told me that my subsequent labors most likely would go the same way and I might always have a hard time delivering naturally. Fast forward 18 months, and I was able to achieve my natural and unmedicated VBAC and I have to thank Debra for that. I truly believe that what I learned from Debra's yoga class, in addition to chiropractic care, helped to properly align my pelvis and create more space for the baby. The morning that I was in labor, I texted Debra to let her know that I wouldn't make it to class because I thought I was in early labor. She replied that if it was still early, I should come in to stretch, relax, and open up the hips. As I wasn't in too much pain yet, I decided to go - definitely had some contractions in class and she showed me how to breathe through them. Baby was born 4 hours later! Almost delivered in the car. Showed up to the hospital at 10cm. I was shocked to say the least. Thank you Debra for all your help and believing that I could do it!

Prenatal Plus Yoga is quite close to my house so I gave it a try starting around 18 weeks. In the end, I got so much more out of it than just a workout. Yoga classes are offered three days a week - Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday morning (but additional classes may be added based on demand, so check the website or reach out to Debra). Each class is 90 minutes and includes everything from stretching and yoga poses, to massage, dancing and singing. At the beginning of the class, everyone introduces themselves and you also partner up at times, so it was a great opportunity to meet other local pregnant women. I ended up forming great relationships and now have my nearby mom tribe! Debra is the instructor and biz owner, she's also a doula and offers a bunch of other classes like hypnobirthing, mommy and me, CPR and more. There's not a lot of similar businesses in the area, so it's all much appreciated! All in all, I'd definitely encourage any moms-to-be to check out Prenatal Plus. It definitely made my pregnancy journey all the better!

My husband and I came to TGP just for information on hospital birth and ended up being blessed in so many ways by the employees there. After meeting and becoming informed by Michelle, one of the owners, we decided to hire a doula in order to have assistance during the birth of our first baby. Their doula services come at different prices in order to ensure that everyone from varying financial backgrounds can have access to this vital service. Our doula, Florencia, was a rock for us during the birth. She kept me focused and ensured that I got the birth that I wanted for baby and me. All the doula services come with access to three very informative classes. Take advantage of these and their very knowledgeable team! We learned so much and met other families going through this experience. It was wonderful. I can't say enough and express how grateful I am to these ladies. They made the community real for me when I didn't think it possible. I had arranged to have the two female doctors at the practice I used be available to assist my birth. The day I went into labor, my doctor and her backup became unavailable. Leaving me to their male doctor who had been particularly unkind to me at previous visits. I was a wreck laboring thinking he would be at the delivery. My doula contacted the owners at TGP and they made magic happen. Through their help I was seen and had my baby delivered at the hospital by an amazing midwife. My situation may not be common but their assistance was amazing and made the community of women empowering child birth real to me. It goes without saying my husband and I couldn't be more grateful for their services. Our little baby boy was born healthy, naturally, and drug free this past May.

At 34 weeks, my doula contacted me via EMAIL to inform me she was moving out of state and no longer able to attend my birth or provide postpartum support. Frantically I tried to find a new doula but at that point there weren't many options and I did not have anytime to build rapport. They gave me an alternate doula who was listed as a level I (I paid for level IV) and then tried to suggest that their website was not up to date. They were also impossible to get in touch with and only communicated by text and email. I ended up not being able to have any doula support at very complicated early induction due to preeclampsia where I ended up having every intervention under the sun short of a c section to make sure my daughter could be safely delivered. My daughter just came home from nicu and I have no postpartum support - my family does not live near me and with the covid resurgence they are not able to come - another reason why I wanted a doula. The kicker is, the Gathering Place won't even give me a full refund after all of this. If having a doula is an important part of your birth plan or postpartum plan, I would highly recommend going elsewhere to ensure you actually have one when your baby actually arrives.

She cares about your whole self, and applies her extensive knowledge, as as well as consulting with other professionals, to your unique needs. I have used her as a doula twice as well as used her for induction massages. Without Carolina I would have never been able to birth my first born vaginally. She was more knowledgeable with what worked for my body than the hospital staff was. My husband now tells every pregnant couple that we know to hire a doula!! I cannot say enough about how vital her presence has been at both of my births. She holds your hands, while also gently motivating you to get the job done! Love her!! Edit: I forgot to mention that my labors were days long, and she was there for the long haul!! Never leaving my side when I needed her.

A midwife is a bit overkill for a c-section so I decided on a doula. I asked around and ended up hiring Carolina to assist me as a postpartum doula. Best. Decision. Ever. I went into labor way ahead of schedule. Like months ahead of schedule. It was a completely chaotic and terrifying morning. My husband drove me to the hospital but was stuck outside of the operating room with our two older kids. I was in a panic but suddenly remembered "Duh! You hired a doula!!!" and I called her as I was being wheeled into emergency surgery. Carolina got to the hospital lightning fast and was my patient advocate during surgery recovery until my husband and children were allowed to visit. Obviously the nurses at the hospital are there to assist you, but it made a huge difference having someone who was by my side 100% of the time. Women feel incredibly vulnerable after giving birth, especially a traumatic birth. It's important that you feel protected and supported. And it is even more important that you are able to rest while someone coordinates your care. I was able to SLEEP while she handled getting me a hospital breast pump, scheduling a visit from the lactation consultant, and making sure the staff stayed on top of my pain management. She even brought me a ponytail holder and some essential oils. She made a very difficult day soooooooo much easier. I'm all done having babies but if you plan on reproducing anytime soon, you definitely want this chick at your bedside before, during, and after your birth.
