I booked a lash lift with MJ. This was probably my fourth or fifth lash lift in general, but first time at this salon. Prior lash lifts I'd had elsewhere haven't had any issues with results. While MJ was very kind and welcoming, the lash lift itself didn't do anything for my flat lashes. I wasn't offered a correction and was told my lashes were too coarse and thick and needed more time to cure. Again this is the first time I've had issues with the lash lift. I was out $115 and had the same flat lashes as before. read more

Waxing - I felt the work was being done in a hurry. The wax strips were being pulled a little too hard and quickly as if to get the work done ASAP. I got bruises from waxing today. It was efficient but very painful. read more

My lashes look fantastic - I'm a little sensitive in my eyes, but MJ has always done a great job at delivering a relaxing experience. She really went above and beyond for the services. I'm so happy to have found this great local business. I've been a few times now, MJ is a wonderful esthetician who provides terrific facials, from dermaplaning to an ultimate facial, and uses more European techniques which I love. For a long time I refused to get facials because I would also break out after, not once has that happened with MJ. She really tailors the visit to an ongoing concerns you may have. The prices are very reasonable, and the interior of the business is really spa like, and I always feel relaxed as soon as I enter the business. Parking is available in the parking garage (3 hours free I believe), or on the street out front if you're lucky. read more

I had a facial here. Extractions were very painful and my skin didn't feel very good afterwards. MJ was nice but tried to upsell me on products and services. The biggest issue for me is that she tried to sell me a brand of skincare product called Incellderm. I looked it up later and was very glad I did not purchase it. I've never had either of these services before so I didn't know what to expect, but MJ is an absolutely pro and did amazing work! I have short, straight lashes that don't hold a curl ever, and was a bit skeptical on what the lash lift would do. However, I was blown away when MJ held up the mirror at the end of the service--I could actually see my lashes, curl and all! MJ did a fabulous job on micro blading and shading my brows! I had lost most of my brows due to hypo thyroid disease and aging but the results made me feel young again! The salon is beautiful and clean and MJ very talented and kind. It is painful but just for like 5 minutes and it's ok if you swear and she has stress balls you can squeeze. Worst mistake I've ever made. I got a lash lift and tint from MJ. She's nice and all but she never cleanse my lashes to start with. When my lash didn't lift. She asked if I had any oil on my lashes. It was a waste of my time and money. She used the perm solution that you would use on your hair. I don't know how that would be safe near the eye area. I should have stopped her when my eyes starting burning. Not only did my lash not lift. They were irritated when I got home. I immediately flushed my eyes out and I think she got the perm and dye solution in my right eye. Go at your own risk!!! I usually try not to leave negative reviews but this is probably one of the worst eyelash lift I've gotten. I could careless if my lashes didn't lift. But my eyes are so irritated. Feels like I got something in my eyeballs. I hope I don't get pink eye or infection. read more

Definitely more of a Korean style facial as the massage is more intense than other places that I've been to. I went to MJ for my first microblading experience today! I told her I was excited and nervous about it. MJ listened to my concerns and made sure I was pleased with the outline. She gave me two options to decide on when I wasn't sure if I liked the first outline. I also told her I didn't want my brows to look dark so she went less dense with the strokes. Overall, she was very considerate and patient with me! She even used a ruler to show me how she measures symmetry on each brow. At the end, the entire microblading experience wasn't as painful as I thought. Maybe 1-2/10 with 10 being most painful. Ultimately, though, what really mattered was the final look of my eyebrows and MJ gave me the natural look and curve that I wanted! She listened and she delivered! I can't to wait to see how it looks in a couple weeks and after the touch up session. read more

I called ahead to let them know I would be late to my appointment. I even asked if they preferred if I rescheduled. She assured me that it would be okay. When I got there she wasn't friendly and made it seem like I inconvenienced her (although she said it would be okay if I was 10-15 late). Even mentioned how busy they are. I have been to MJ more than once and every time I go, there's no one there. It felt a bit like discrimination. Wouldn't recommend for my melanated folks to get services here. read more

I NEVER ever write reviews but I had to with this place, I went in for an eyebrow wax today with the owner, fyi I like to keep my natural shape and only get touch ups for the small hairs that's hard to remove. Not only is my eyebrow HALF the size of a ball point pen the middle of my eyebrow is OVERLY PLUCKED and tweezed. It's so ugly I am literally writing this review CRYING, I had to come straight home because it was so ugly. I have never had my eyebrows so much overly plucked. If you value your eyebrows and any place visible DO NOT come here for waxing. I literally had to cancel my plans this entire week because I do know how to fix them. Not only am I traumatized from this experience I will never visit again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and families as well. If I could give negative 10 I would!! read more

Where do I begin?! I found MJ by way of Groupon and I couldn't be happier. Not only is MJ super sweet and fun to talk to-she is extremely knowledgeable about skincare which makes me feel 100% comfortable knowing she will take the best care of my skin. The best part about MJ is that she genuinely cares about your skin. I am 29 and have had a couple facials in my day but have never found an esthetician that I felt actually cared about my skin for the long run. I feel lucky that I found her and plan on seeing her regularly in the future. First time experience getting micro-needling done. I was truthful a bit nervous since I don't do too well with needles and have a low pain tolerance. The whole experience was rather simple and very comfortable. MJ was very friendly, professional and informative. She carefully explained every step of the process and even gave a complimentary scalp massage. I honestly don't think this is a painful treatment. The beginning was completely painless, just some vibrations on the skin but no pain. She constantly checks to make sure you are feeling comfortable. In my case I was okay with her going in deeper, still wasn't painful. A little discomfort but completely tolerable. She did mention she gets her numbing cream from Korea so it may be more effective ? For me personally, I have noticed a little redness but it went away by the next day and the redness was not bad at all. I have seen many videos and pictures of others experiences but mine looked as if I was just slightly sunburnt and faded out very quickly. It had been a week so far and I have noticed my skin has gotten a lot smoother and also has a tightening effect. I also see that my acne scars and hyperpigmentation has lightening up noticeably and overall the texture of my skin is much more even. So far, I am seeing great progress and I will be making this a monthly treatment until I get the results I like! read more
