Originally, I thought patching the inside of the basement would suffice. I found Complete Paving & Masonry on Yelp, and reached out; Jerry responded very quickly and was able to come by to provide a visual inspection and a quote. He recommended that work needs to be done on the outside in order to fix the inside. We took a walk around the outside and he provided points of what work needed to be done. Essentially, he recommended to dig up the dirt around the foundation; patch and seal the foundation; put in some gravel and then cover it up with dirt. This would help prevent water from leaking through the foundation into the basement/garage. After conversing with my fellow condo neighbor, we hired Jerry's team to do the work. Within a week, they were able to come on site and start the work. It took them 4 days to do the work (original quote was 3-5 days). Jerry and his team did a magnificent job. They went above and beyond the original estimate's work at no extra charge to improve the water flow surrounding the condo. They also did some additional patch work on the outside of the condo. When the job was completed, Jerry walked me through everything his team did and why it was done, so I was able to understand the reason for the work. She was literally trying to get him fired for bad reviews. I owned a business for 10 years. I got a couple bad reviews along the way about employees work and had requests for refunds. I did so willingly because the customer satisfaction outweighed my ego. I would NEVER call a clients employer after they left a bad review to voice my personal opinion of them. I contacted Jose about having some prep done for a patio we were planning to build. We had a family…read morefriend who would lay pavers, so we really just needed the site to be dug out, base put down, compacted, and screeded. Jose came out and gave us an estimate that included burying the downspouts to avoid water dumping on the new patio. He was prompt, communicative, and gave us an estimate in a few days. We scheduled them to come the following week. He and his brother showed up right on time, and promptly began digging things out. I was impressed with what they were able to do in a single day. Because rain was in the forecast, they were flexible on coming back a second day to screed the final paver base. It rained particularly hard and it became clear that there was an issue somewhere. When they came back a few days later, I pointed it out to Jose and he promptly dug out the spot and ensured it was properly filled in and compacted. They finished the job and cleaned up. After the first day, they left the site relatively clean (considering they knew they'd be back). Overall, I would 100% recommend these guys and would love to have them back to do additional projects at our home. Candido and his colleague recently established proper drainage around a corner of the house where…read morewater was getting into the foundation and the basement. In his initial assessment, Candido identified all areas which were contributing to the problem and explained what he would do and why (every contractor should do this but it doesn't always happen). He also identified an area contributing to ingress of water to the house that two other contractors missed. His estimate was extremely fair (one contractor quoted a total of $24k for the same solutions). The work was started within days of agreement on the scope of work and it was completed within 1.5 days. Work included excavating and installation of a dry well, regrading and relaying a stone path, and partial repaving of the driveway. He and his colleague even cleared a gutter and replaced and repitched some existing drainage on the side of the house. No trash or mess was left behind after the work was done. It's been a few weeks since the installation and repairs and am relieved to see no water coming into the basement even after several downpours and no damp basement walls. I'm happy we went with Candido and would gladly work with him again on another project.
