I love how this supermarket has an offer of 50% off onigiris and sushi platters after 8pm. I wish they made the time earlier than 8pm like at 6pm so we definitely can get it earlier at a discounted rate! Hopefully the manager changes its mind and makes the discount time earlier than 8pm! Otherwise, they have a nice stock of onigiris at around $3.50 each. I tried their cooked salmon and spicy salmon and they were very fresh and nice to eat. Buttery and smooth salmon. They got salmon and tuna sushi too that are affordable and less than $10 so that's a pretty good deal apart from their 8pm discount offer. Place overall sells light snacks like chips and ice cream. I saw that they got matcha ice cream but couldn't buy that because the weather is still hot so it's going to melt before I get home. I live 2 train stops away from this place so it's kind of far to buy matcha ice cream back and forth in the fall weather when it's still warm out. read more

I was in the area and was looking for a quick spot to cool off. The market is super tiny, but offers some good Asian essentials. I ended up getting a small tray of Spicy Salmon Rolls ($5.99 for 6pcs). It's a tad pricey at $1 per piece, but good deal if you come after 8pm when it's 50% off. It was decent and satisfied my cravings though. They have a small counter along the window for you to sit and eat your food though, which is nice. read more

There's a nice variety of foods and drinks here, a lot of sweets. My foodie wife likes the mackerel bento but says it's mostly rice with not enough vegetables. Vegetarian options are limited, which is typical for Japanese markets, so be sure to read the ingredients. I found out even a wasabi cracker I liked had fish in it. The Ajinomoto vegetable dumplings are okay but without much filling; the Yamamoto Yama tea is the best I've had. I've cheated on my diet several times for the daifuku. The store is small and brightly lit. The cashiers seem either shy or unfriendly. If you love all things Japan, you'll probably like it here, but for me I'll just occasionally pick up a bento/onigiri for my wife if I'm passing by with my baby. Took a stroll to the Greenpoint library to return some books and remembered I had been wanting to hit up this spot. Mitsuki is conveniently located close to the Norman Ave G stop. There's a lot of Naruto and One Piece memorabilia lining the shop. It has a good mix of food, beauty, and cookware items. They obviously also have Japanese staples and quite a few anime related figurines and toys. They had a decent selection of ready and prepared meals like onigiri and sushi. I bought a salmon and spicy tuna onigiri as well as a royal milk tea to go. Pretty comparable to Ten Ichi in Williamsburg in taste for the onigiri and just a tad cheaper. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and I'll definitely be back. read more

A Greenpoint gem--little Japanese market on the corner of Manhattan and Norman, right off the G train. They stock a good selection of drinks and snacks, condiments (sauces, furikake, dressings, curries, etc), dry (noodles, rice, ramen, nori, tea, etc), frozen and refrigerated food (oden, ice cream, mochi, udon/noodles, gyoza, frozen meat/fish, etc), some home (stationary, socks, home knick knacks), fresh to-go food, and bath/beauty items. The one category they didn't carry was fresh produce. For the casual shopper this isn't a big deal since there are other grocery stores in the neighborhood. Convenient enough to drop by when in the neighborhood with a craving for Japanese flavors. Being on a busier street, parking my need some finessing to locate a spot, though very walkable if you live in the neighborhood. Love having a japanese mart in Greenpoint. Been here numerous times. However, have recently noticed eel onigiri no longer is a piece of eel but is rather mashed up eel and rice together. Does not taste the same :( don't know when the change happened. Must assume they're putting less eel. Onigiris are also $3.29 now. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit to this little Japanese market! Although most of their real estate is reserved for candy and junk food guilty pleasures, they do have lunch offerings of sushi and salads, which caught me by surprise! A great thing to keep in mind if you want to try to change it up for your lunch hour. They have a good selection of drinks, snacks, soba, ramen, and other cooking ingredients to get your Japanese dishes where they need to be! The place is small, but well lit and very clean. The two aisles are jam packed with stuff, and with the convenience, you may pay the higher price here versus going into an Asian neighborhood and paying the discounted prices. I like the convenience and really don't mind it, honestly. If you check in on Yelp, you get a discount off your first purchase which was nice to see! This place is really great. Very clean inside and easy to navigate. So many kinds of ingredients, fun snacks, even little gift sets of sake cups or soy sauce dishes. Cute little Japanese store. Lots of snack foods. I saw sushi in the pictures but the few times I've been there I've never seen this (unless they sell out before I get there). I actually come here to get rice and I'll grab a snack or two while iam here. Prices are standard. A cute place to buy some new snacks you've never tried before or if you're a fan of Japanese snacks. I wish they had a better/bigger selection of Japanese sunscreens and beauty products. They do have some, but a small selection. read more

This is a new Japanese deli in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The store is bigger than most of the Japanese delis in Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods, but the selection of sales items is smaller. It seems that the owner is not Japanese because the items they sell don't include some of the most popular food items for Japanese people. Usually, the Japanese deli has a rich selection of frozen or vacuum-packed sea foods such as frozen sashimi squid, octopus, fish roes, eels, Shimesaba (vinegar pickled mackerel), etc. Also, they don't have any pre-packaged cooked items such as Hanpen, Satsuma-age, Kamaboko, Oden set, etc., I don't know why they don't add 1 additional freezer unit so that they can sell these additional basic items. They sure has a space for it. I bought their sushi Bento box and was very disappointed. I bought 2 of them and both of them were old. They must have been sitting there for at least 2 days because the rice was crunchy hard. I don't think I will ever buy their bento box again. I hope they will learn the business and improve their store because right now it is the only Japanese deli in Greenpoint. read more
