Pros - This hotel is in the perfect location in Greenwich. The room was comfortable and had the needed amenities - tv, heater, blow dryer, iron, coffee station, etc. It included a breakfast buffet each morning and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great value for such a reasonable price! Close to shops, restaurants, and train station. Cons - The rooms were a little dated and the carpets stained. The bed was not very comfortable - but overall the room was clean and met our needs. Stairs were steep and uneven - but there is an elevator. Bottom line - I would stay here again. read more

The man was looking for a local pub in Greenwich and we ended up here. Not a great brew selection so he ordered a Guiness. Their bar bites were awesome, though. We had cauliflower wings, chicken wings, and calamari. Sauces were very creative and tasty. Be careful going to the WC - the stairs down are very steep. read more

Stopped in here on Boxing Day and had a very nice burger/fries and lager. They were slammed all at once, with few front-of-house staff, but the barman did a good job serving several parties their drinks, and my meal came out very quickly. Burger was very well done, but that may be the standard due to health concerns...not sure. It was still tasty. Earlier reviews say it looked shabby? Certainly isn't now. It is a very comfortable looking pub, with an attached, bright conservatory--plus an outdoor beer garden. read more

Christmas Day Lunch 2016 - a difficult review to write as we have been coming to this place for a very long time now and always liked it. The serving staff, especially the short young tattooed woman dressed in Green as an Elf was fantastic. Bar manager was excellent and tried to make up for the kitchen inadequacies. The chef ruined my Christmas Day with poor service. Delayed and cold food. And just awful care really. I can't impress upon you how awful it was you ignored serving our food for an hour: you asked us when you wanted food served so we gave a bit of time and said 1.00pm. I even asked at 1.30pm if everything was ok and explained I really needed to eat something soon to to diabetes. You didn't even bother and seemed to serve our table at 2.00pm after I got fed up due to a massive headache as a result of low sugar levels which was really upsetting as it's the last thing I wanted for my family and friends. You took more than 3 hours to serve 3 courses. I stress, the serving staff tried so hard to make up for it but the kitchen were utterly appalling. I doubt you will see much of us in the future and certainly never ever again on Christmas Day. We left a huge tip for the serving staff with express instructions it was for them and bar staff only. You (chef and team) were the Grinch that ruined Christmas! read more

I don't even want to admit I've been to the Mitre and that's for a few reasons listed below: -Ate there once, 10yrs ago - so shockingly bad, I refuse to attempt it again -Used to be wannabe shabby, it's now shabby without a clear identity -There's always something getting broken in here, glasses, bottles, ear drums, someone's feelings -Toilets are the result of a zombie apocalypse ...and that said, there are reasons I don't mind people knowing I've frequented here: -Always a fun Saturday night (something still gets broken) -they've redecorated/revamped for the umpteenth time; I don't care if they have no identity -Outside area has expanded, happy about that because that's where they banish the smokers -drinks are cheap -Live music acts are always a laugh and guaranteed sing-a-long -it's local to me, so I can safely stagger home read more

Very attractive and well maintained pub. Food was wonderful. My wife and I shared the steak and ale pie, pepper squid, poutine, and a scotch egg. Presentation was fantastic. The poutine and pie were good, the egg and squid were awesome. Highly recommended. read more

The Mitre is a fantastic traditional pub situated on Greenwich High Road, just opposite the cinema. It is divided into two sections, the main pub at the front and the Irish bar at the back. The main pub is a friendly, welcoming place where locals socialise creating a lovely atmosphere. The bar staff too are friendly and provide excellent levels of customer service when it comes to apologising for keeping me waiting and acknowledging people as they joined the waiting queue. The locals are decent people too. When the barmaid went to serve a gentleman he told her that I had been waiting longer and that he would honestly wait for his turn. A refreshing attitude when so many bars feature louts who push in without regard for other punters. There are a range of activities happening and I noticed on the door a poster mentioning that they are trying to introduce a culture night on a Thursday, something which I intend on checking out when I get a chance. It states that anyone is welcome to perform either music or poetry. The food prices at the Mitre are a little above average for pubs. I browsed the menu considering buying a snack but decided against it when I saw a bowl of chips was £2.75. A main course is likely to set you back around a tenner which is a lot when you consider some bars offer two meals for that price. Drinks prices are better though especially their after work special deal in which many drinks go down in price between 5pm and 7pm. My friend and I did consider checking out the Irish bar at the back but it was significantly smaller than the main pub and was quite busy at the time of our visit so we decided to give it a miss. The Mitre is well worth a look if you find yourself in the Greenwich area. read more

I stayed in this establishment in March/April 2015, and I left thinking things could have been better. The room was quant, the bathroom was suburb, endless hot water, and the night porter was a VERY hospitable individual. There was one lady, who's customer service skills were sorely lacking, that we had to deal with her during the day that make my experience subpar. There were issues with the wifi, and we could only use it on the ground floor. The ladies who assisted with the continental breakfast were cheery and had excellent customer service skills. read more

Decent pub grub, they even serve the breakfast in a pan!? Can't decide if that's good or bad. Came here for some lunch, so I'm afraid I can't testament to the breakfast. But I can say it comes in a pan. It looked awesome! Just not sure if that's a fad or not... The lunch was good though. Fish and chips were really good, the southern fried chicken was decent and the sausage and mash went down well (though the gravy didn't). As I said, it's pub grub but for what it is it's decent. The drink was decent, nice range and they even put a little chocolate Xmas tree on the latte (it was near Christmas. They weren't just mental). Generally if you're after pub grub then pop on in! I wonder how many more times I can say pub grub in this review... There's not much else to say really. Decent pub. Decent grub (that doesn't count). Decent location and friendly staff. Pub grub. This pub looks a little bit posh, although I'm not sure that this is reflected by the clientele on a Saturday evening. Not cosy or welcoming by any stretch of the imagination, but a very decent ale selection and a comfy chair to sit and enjoy them in is not to be sniffed at! read more

Its a actually a quite nice , bit out if the ordinary . Nice openair area . Three real ales on but nothing special .

Not bad for watching the football. They even sometimes manage to have both games on if it's a Champions League night. Food is ok too.

I really liked the pub. Lovely atmosphere and vibe. Tidy and hospitable Why only 3 stars? Well had my baby shower here at the conservatory in the back (fantastic party space by the way) but the menu choice was very limited i.e sandwiches and sausages. There was more on the menu but when we tried to pre-book we were told it wasn't available. I.e the sea food platter etc. I thought they coud have done better with that as it was a pre-order (one week in advance) so no reason why they couldn't arrange it.
