A pub with rooms upstairs. Just like the old days! I booked this place not realizing it was not a traditional hotel, and when I arrived to check in after a looooong 15 hours in the air, surprise! I walked around the outside looking for a hotel lobby... nothing! Only a restaurant/ pub with the correct name! You walk into the pub and check in with the bartender!!! After getting the (1920's style) keys, luggage had to be carried up some narrow, windy stairs to the room. (So no lifts and be prepared!) was told that the pub opens till 11 pm, and if you are out and about after that, you give your keys to the bartender, who will give them to the night watchman, who will let you in when you show up at the door. Kinda a funky arrangement but I suppose it works, but never tested it myself. Rooms are on the small side, but the king sized bed was comfortable. Since we were on the level above the pub, at night you could hear the noise downstairs, but it wasn't that loud and it did not disburb me. Included in the room rate was breakfast. Yum! There was a limited choice, but the main 3 items were: English Breakfast, Vegetarian type breakfast, and a continental breakfast. Staying there for 3 nights, I decided to give each one a try, and they were all good (ranked in the respective order in my previous sentence). The server and cook were really polite, checked up on us to see if everything is okay.... a nice experience. The pub itself is nice too, with a main room, another room closer to the street, and some outdoor tables. We did not find ourselves there in the evening, but it is a pretty happening place. Generally pretty full, lots of traffic, flowing conversation and drinks! So a somewhat different experience for me! Just like in the old days you read in the story books or see in the old movies, a pub with rooms upstairs for people to sleep it off! (Modern version of it anyways!) Little on the high average side in price, but you get a meal included, very decent room, dining downstairs, and within 5 min walk to at least 2 - 3 subway stations. read more

Very friendly bar keep allowed me to eat my horribly constructed messy burger (I actually used a knife and fork), and awful salad at the bar where we sweated whilst discussed the wonderfully cool night air that management banned from the interior of the pub because it gave him a chill. Ridiculously overheated interiors are not unusual in the UK, and other places unaccustomed to outdoor temperatures rising to 65-75F. What made this a little different was the stubbornness to keep a door closed that I was delighted to prop open whenever thin blooded management would shut it. read more

Great English pub perfect for watching sports. There's a tv in view no matter where you sit. Excellent service and a good selection of food. We particularly enjoyed the nachos and wings while watching a football match. read more

Located above an incredibly noisy indoor/outdoor pub which made sleep impossible. We checked out asap but received only one night's refund of our four night stay. This Belle offers brews and classic pub fare fit for a hang-out with friends. The beer selection was acceptable and affordable. On the food front, they sold out of the Sunday roast, which was disappointing, but the chicken katsu was enjoyable too. Nothing to write home about, but it works if you're looking for a chill place to relax and unwind. read more

A nice little gastropub my friend and I stumbled upon after a delayed train journey from Manchester. Easily confused (at least in my hazy memory mind) with the Fitzrovia, this is much more the belle of the ball. Inside is standard gastropub fayre; light colours, wooden tables, tvs, large menus. Initially we were only going to have a drink but the lunch menu looked and was priced too good to turn down. Put off by the idea of payng £3.25 just for a 'tin of chips' we spotted that a fish finger sandwich with chips was £4.50 - how that works I will never know, but my thoughts all revolved around "bring it oooooon!" The sandwiches were delicious, with cripsy fish fingers and gorgeous crispy chips, slightly lacking in greenery but I was happy to let it slide. Service was friendly and efficent, all done with a smile despite some out of place customers taking up the entirity of the bar front. Will keep this place in mind for future visits to London which start out a bit rocky - a fish finger sandwich cures all. read more

We came in with a large tour group and it was the most fun and best meal of the trip. They made a sampler of different British staples and every one had fun trying them and said they were good. I had a lentil burger (vegetarian) and it was AWESOME. It is clearly homemade and delicious. Service was excellent and I would come back without a tour group. Reasonable prices. read more

A nice bar,quite trendy and a few seats and benches outside for people watching on Tottenham Court Road, There was a small intimate bar at the front, and a large open restaurant at the back, the whole place looked brand new and modern but in a tasteful english pub way. Beers were reasonably priced at around £3-4 a pint. read more

we happened upon this place and it was a great decision. we had the cheesesteak sandwich, chikcen burger, fish and chips, and beef burger. everything tasted great. the fish and chips is a little unique b/c they cook a whole fish instead of small pieces but it was good quality. it didn't taste overly greasy or heavily battered so it was nice. we got the english salad instead of fries for 2 of the orders and it was refreshing. the place was well designed and well kept. the restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and professional. there is a bar with TVs. the place gets crowded during lunch (which is why we walked in). i forget the prices but it was on par with other places. it wasn't a rip off kind of place. i recommend this place. read more

I came here on a late Saturday afternoon for an early dinner in December. The place was relatively empty compared to other pubs and that's what I was looking for. I wanted a place where I could have some pub food and chill out for a while. It also had free wifi from the bank next door. Perfect for the tourist! I had their fish and chips with peas. It was a rather large portion but having skipped lunch it was just right. Service was good. The food came hot and rather promptly. I've had more flavorful fish and chips but this wasnt bad by any means though. With the free wifi and calm atmoshere I would be willing to try this place again if I was in the neighborhood. Not a lot to say, we fancied a beer, so ended up here. It's pretty average, decent music, large place and a full stocked bar. Drink wise, at 4.60 for a bottle of peroni, it's pricey and the food, well don't get me started, far too expensive for a standard pub, £14 for a prawn salad or a half of chicken! No way, I'd eat here with all the delicious places in the area. For me, there's nothing here to make it worth paying more than the more reasonable The Court and other pubs nearby. The only thing could be perhaps the toilets, easily some of the cleanest and nicest ones in the area. It made touching up my make up a hella of lot easier! read more

I came here with a few friends to watch an Arsenal match. The pub is spacious with lots of seating, which was nice. There was nothing particularly special about the ambiance. In terms of the food, I had a cheese steak sandwich that was just OK. I wouldn't come back for the food in the future, but maybe for a drink if I'm in the area. read more

Nice bar and grill. Two small bars and two dining areas. Above the bar is a five room hotel. Had the Haddock fish and chips which was very good and too much for one. We enjoyed the dining and from the crowd so were many others. Server was well informed and gave excellent suggestions as well as excellent service. read more
