I had a oil change and a coolant flush. The next day i noticed coolant leaking from the drain i opened up the hood and notice my engine cover lose and the handle to the oil dip stick was broken, now i cant pull the dip stick out. All my coolant had leaked out because the mechanic failed to close the drain-cock properly.
I took it back the next day on Sunday and they were close. I took off work Monday and took it back the owner said the mechanic called in sick and he could see my car over heated because orange coolant was every where. I told him my car has never over heated and his mechanic splashed coolant every where when he put cool water in my radiator overflow tank while the engine was running and hot and it splashed out everywhere when he did the coolant flush. The owner allow me to get water to put into my into my radiator to make it home.
I went straight to another shop to get this fix. They did a pressure test and they said the previous mechanic cross threaded the radiator plug which was causing it to leak, they removed it and put it in correctly fluid it up with coolant and the leak stopped. They also removed the dipstick the previous mechanic broke and replaced it with a new one and charge me $60 for everything. They also said the previous mechanic half-ass did the coolant flush and i still need to get my system flushed
I called Mitra's Texaco and asked if the owner if he would reimburse me the $60 i spent to fix what his mechanic screwed up. and the $50 i spent on the coolant flush, because it was not done properly. He refused and said his mechanic said the oil dipstick handle had melted. I said so if the handle had melted why didn't you notify me so i could replace it instead of shoving the broken dipstick back in the tube so no one could ever pull it out again. He had no answer and started babbling and claimed the my car which was running perfect until they messed with it needed a lot of work. My car needs no work and in running like it's suppose to after i had the problems they caused fixed. read more
