"If you are hungry and don't have money we will feed you." Seems like a very welcoming sign to havr in front of a restaurant. But unfortunately it was far from that. I was fasting and wanted to order on the phone to save some time on ordering in the restaurant. The man who answered the phone seemed extremely annoyed when I tried ordering few minutes before reaching the restaurant. Since I noticed his unfriendly response and tone of voice, i told him I'll just order once I'm there. Once I was at the register ready to order, I asked if they have a combination, he didn't bother listening and just pointed at the menu. I repeated myself and he seemed to get annoyed. In my opinion, you shouldn't have a sign like that in front of your restaurant if you have difficulties answering simple questions. Extremely poor customer service. read more

First time visit. I ordered the koobideh beef, double side of salad, and lintel soup. If I am in the area, I will stop by again.

I found the food at Mitra's Cafe to be just average. I ordered a beef and chicken kabob with salad, fries, hummus, and bread. The kabobs themselves were alright. They had decent flavor but I didn't like the texture. They were very dry. The sides were pretty good and I particularly enjoyed the hummus. The restaurant itself isn't very fancy but it's quite clean. The location is also good, and there was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. I also found the prices to be reasonable when compared to other kabob shops that I've been to. The employee who I believe was the owner helped us out. He wasn't particularly friendly, but he did answer all of our questions since it was our first time eating from here. One important thing to note about this place is that there is a sign out front saying that they will give you free food if you're unable to pay. I think that's an awesome thing to do and I commend Mitra's Cafe for having this policy. To summarize, the prices are reasonable and the location is good, but I thought the food was just okay. read more

i've had this place on my list to try for awhile & tonight i stopped in an hour before closing. i ordered the Koobideh Chicken plate, i chose rice & hummus as my sides & ordered a greek salad as well. The food was pretty good! i've tried a few mediterranean restaurants in the surrounding cities & my favorite is Mr.Kebab in temecula... but Mitra's wasn't bad at all. I did notice that they didn't have any staff at all working other than the older gentleman, i believe he's the owner but he was very kind & I could tell he was working hard to please his customers. I ordered catering for my rehearsal lunch. I wanted food that wasn't fried/greasy or give us the possibility of getting upset stomachs the day before the wedding. We ordered mixed koobideh (ground chicken and ground beef), gyro, rice, salad with two different dressings, pita bread, and hummus. It also came with yogurt for dipping sauce. We ordered enough for 50 people and we had more than enough! It was two trays of each thing listed above. The guests loved it! They even asked to take some leftovers home. The owners of this restaurant are very kind and are willing to work with what you need in order to fulfill your catering wishes. They also provided plates, napkins, utensils, and plastic silverware so we didn't have to worry about it. We also had it delivered directly to the rehearsal lunch venue. Thank you Mitra's Cafe for making this all happen! We will be back again. read more

Had to do a shout out to this restaurant simply for the fact I was visiting area and saw this sign (posted) reading "If you are hungry and don't have any money, We will feed you" I don't know if this is posted always or just during the cold season but i found it amazingly outstanding that during these times restaurants are just trying to survive themself that this restaurant would reach out a helping hand. So glad my wife found this place in the Albertson's shopping center and online. We had dinner there last night and are going back soon. In order to the the lay of the land we got the chicken and beef kabob plates. My wife had rice and hummus as her sides and I had salad and hummus. Such good tasting, garlic-y hummus! Yay! I love this place so much. We grab food here about once a week. Max is a super nice guy. Always polite on the phone and in person. We are from San Diego and love beef koobideh. We've tried so many places in and around Temecula and we aren't really fond of any of them. Mitra's is hands down the best in town. It's great value, tastes great, and love to support Max and his business. My kids are all very picky but Mitra's beef koobideh is something all of us love. Usually when someone suggests Mitra's for dinner, we go get Mitra's. Unlike a lot of small businesses around the area, Mitra's business hours is consistent. About the beef koobideh plate we all get, the beef tastes great, the roasted tomatoes are some of the best we've ever had anywhere, and the rice and soaked bread is delicious. Thank you, Max for providing a great cafe and great food. Also note that Max didn't go and increase prices 25-50% like everyone else has. I sorta feel like he should feel entitled to, to be fair, but we won't be mad if the price stays the same either. Either way, we'll be returning again and again. read more

My coworkers and i ordered 6 total orders around 11:06am, i went to pick up at 11:50am and it was not ready. he told me he was just getting the orders from grubhub, i told him we ordered half hour ago, he answered with, i don't care, i'm just getting them and why was i ordering through grubhub in the first place instead of calling. Then he told me that he was not making them and cancelling them, i told him he was being rude and not nice. We have been ordering for years and he's always been super rude, but i like the food so i just dealt with it. so i told him NEVER AGAIN! I was in shock how rude he was to me. This little place next to Panda Express has been overlooked. I was craving kabobs and hummus so I decided to check out this place. Right outside the door there's a sign stating if you are hungry and have no money to let them know and they will feed you, just ask!! How amazing is that! There's was not other customers in there and I don't understand why this place does not have a line out the door. The boneless marinated chicken. Hit the spot and the rice was perfect. The salad was salad, but none the less fresh. The hummus was very good and yogurt dip just as good. It came with pita bread and it was warm and soft! All delicious. I will not hesitate to return. Ok before I give this review people need to understand that Max (The Owner) is basically a one man band with a little help but he runs the show. He been slingin Kabobs since most of you were kids so he's gonna have his good days and his bad. He's a good guy with a big heart so don't be saying he's rude. You might be rude every once in awhile if your older and been at this before the beginning of time. Max is dope! Old dude but cool so give him a break. As for the food? It's good.
