Windermere Real Estate- Issaquah

Bob Richards (brichards.com) at this Windermere was a top-of-the-highest-notch agent to work with…read more It was our first home-buying experience and we're young and poor, but we were treated like his million-dollar clients. Even though he's in Issiquah, he knows Seattle and the surrounding "townships" very well. From West Seattle to downtown, to Ballard, Queen Anne, Licton Springs, Crown Hill, Greenlake, Greenwood, and beyond (okay, pretty much I just want people to find him on yelp). From day one when we didn't know if we wanted a condo or a house, to months after we found our dream house and we still keep in touch, he was attentive and always acted in our best interest, making sure we were as happy as could be and giving expert advice only when we asked. When we flew out for a house-hunting trip, he was happy to help us out, too, by driving us around when we met in Seattle so that we wouldn't have to follow each other through neighborhoods. He knows the west side very well and is able to come out to look at houses whenever he could. He was accommodating and cheerful at every visit. He used all six senses when showing us a house, he could tell when other agents were being sneaky, and could pinpoint pet odor from the front steps. He knows his stuff and is a really cool guy. I can't say enough about this superhero of Seattle real estate.

My HOA had already asked me to do this a year ago and that work was satisfactory to both HOA and the owners at the time. Bob thought it appropriate not to call me to tell me his plans to remove limbs from a huge tree in my yard. I totally get the legality (potentially) but the fact that this person thought not communicating was appropriate is beyond me. He's been in the market for years and yet thought this was the right way to do business. Strange that he made snap decisions like this and could have gone to the HOA to get a phone number; or leave a note asking me to call or knocked more than once 2 months ago. Totally unnacceptable behavior and to anyone who is thinking of using him, I'd watch out. You may be next door to one of his rentals and get blindsided as well. Terrible!

Overall: Good and informative buying experience…read more The main aim was to buy a house as soon as possible on arriving in the US. We started looking in November 2006 and on 21st December we moved in. First time buying ANYWHERE is a scary thing, since it involves such a large amount of money. Coldwell managed to put us at ease and explained everything to us clearly. They explained terms which were totally unfamiliar to us, such as "earnest money", they also gave us their experience of how long wiring money internationally takes etc. Our agent was Jenny Hill, she was recommended by a colleague. On meeting her for the first time, she had got together a nice folder with all areas that were of interest to us - it was very well organized! She was quite informative, but I have no idea how these agents should be like. I managed to see about 30 houses in total and narrowed it down to one. Jenny was always available to us and took our calls even at 21:00 (09:00pm) on Friday/Saturday night, when negotiations were in place. The negotiations went smoothly and we delayed moving in because we had none of our furniture - all of it was currently in a sea container somewhere. It arrived on the 22nd December, so for the first night we had JUST a bean bag, duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels!

Friendly, responsive, diligent and knowledgeable are just a few of the outstanding qualities they possess. Gerald kept us completely informed throughout the process and gave us great advice on what would be most impactful and beneficial for us to do to sell quickly yet maximize our profit. My wife and I highly recommend this engaging and resourceful couple. Our house sold within 9 days of posting and we sold at a higher price than expected. Just a great experience.
