I hired Encompass to short plat my lot at Kirkland and experienced much scam, frauds and lies. After dealing with all kinds of business as consumers, this is the first time that I gave a 1 star review and filed complaints with BBB.
Overall, they betrayed consumer's trust in their professionalism and integrity, by trying to make money by making me paying for services that are not necessary at the time. When it is time to submit for pre-app meeting with the city, they told me there are a few tasks that need to be done first, even though they were listed for a later stage on the contract. After I asked very patiently a number of times how much extra would those cost, they refused to tell me and said if I am not satisfied, I can stop their work. Well I can't have them continue the work without knowing how much that would be, and given their responses I instructed them to stop the work. However, then they changed their story and said the pre-app meeting was completed when sending me the final invoice. How come it was completed if the work that you said were needed were actually not done first yet? (remember those work that you said I need to authorize but wont' tell me how much they cost?) This is becoming an integrity issue , unless the engineer really honestly don't know what he is talking about, then it is a competency issue. Either way, this is unbelievable.
I stopped their service, paid off their invoices (which included that meeting that didn't happen but they claimed that was completed), took over and studies about the project, and worked with the city of Kirkland myself to submit the materials and schedule the meeting. While waiting for the meeting that I myself scheduled to happen, I decided to complain to Encompass's supervisor about the experience.
When I talked to their supervisor, he first admitted on the phone, verbally, saying "right, he (the engineer) shouldn't have said the pre-app meeting was done", and he went ahead to offer me to actually attend the meeting himself free of charge (note that, this further proves he admitted that the meeting indeed didn't happen), but when I followed up with email afterwards, he changed his tone and said Encompass didn't do anything wrong.
I filed complaint with BBB, however, Encompass adamantly denied any wrongdoing, and continuously used one lie to cover up another lie, and not even mind contradicting themselves in their hollow defense. Apparently this business covers up for each other for their misconducts and won't stand up and own up to their mistakes. What a horrible experience, I hope nobody else experiences what I did. I will give Encompass the lowest rating possible, because integrity and honesty is the most important elements in a business. This company is listed as K & K engineering in BBB. read more
