This was probably the second time I've been to Mita's and both times it's been excellent! It's a gem to have a great Indian restaurant in Columbus, MS! I had the vegetable biryani and garlic naan.....chef's kiss! The food is fresh full of flavor! The service was excellent and the cashier was so patient while I was figuring out what I wanted and asking about other dishes! Great space nice and can even handle a large party! The food was very good. The spice level one was barely a spice and level two didn't have much of a kick. They are conservative with spice, so go crazy with the spice levels. The wait staff was great and quick. read more

We drove up to drop my daughter off at Mississippi State and were pleasantly surprised to find an Indian & Nepalese restaurant in Nearby Columbus. We had really high hopes that this place would be good, but... it was incredible. First to hit us as we walked through the door, the wonderful aromas. Then the very friendly staff welcomed us into their very clean and nicely decorated restaurant and even helped with the questions we had with the menu. We ordered the Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi, Aalu (aka aloo) Sadeko, Samosa chaat, Veg Biryani, Butter Chicken, and the Fried Veg Momo. Everything was really, really good. The biryani and the aalu (aka aloo) sadeko were the two items that we liked the most, the latter being one of the best things I've ever eaten... EVER. This restaurant is family-owned and operated and serves amazing tasting, top-quality food at a very fair price. Please do not pass up the opportunity to dine here; you won't be disappointed. The 4 of us had dinner and the food was outstanding. You have a choice of spice level and the wife was happy with level 2, my 45-year-old son enjoyed level 3 as did I. We will be going again and we don't dine in Columbus but maybe twice a year... First-rate food if you are looking for that curry fix. The naan was fresh and full of garlic as we like. First time stopping by for a meal inside. Ambiance is very casual. The Kothey Momos were delicious with the chutney and had a very flavorful chicken mixture inside. Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty solid and our favorite. Spice level 4 brought a nice punch as well. The Butter Chicken wasn't like any I had had before? Still good, but just not what I was expecting flavor wise. Not sure I'd reorder that particular dish. The garlic naan was stellar. I wish they had more variety in the curry department, there are only a handful to choose from and limited meat options (no lamb or goat, only chicken or catfish). The Momos (dumplings) and samosas are excellent as is the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Naan is ok as are the Chicken Chilli and the Aalu Gobi. The Vindi Masala, Butter Chicken, and Biryani are disappointing. If you want dumplings you should call ahead as they take 15 min to make. I give them 4 stars for the well-executed dishes, but really the overall score should be 3 stars. Like most restaurants of this type, the food is pricey. read more
