I had my 2006 Land Rover LR3 towed to Mitanix to repair a suspension issue and troubleshoot an acceleration issue. At the time is was towed it had no other problems, and was being towed from another repair shop that could not fix the suspension issue. (this was the 3rd mechanic to see the vehicle in 2 months and none mentioned any issues including radiator or coolant leaks) Mitanix called and told me the car was fixed but it will need a radiator due to a "slight coolant leak" I asked if it could wait a few months, and the Mitanix employee said "Yes" They never did look into the other acceleration issue as I requested. we then picked up the Land Rover after their business hours, since they were closed we paid the bill through PayPal. After only a few miles, the car began to overheat, it broke down at a gas station and we ended up having it towed to a different repair shop. The new mechanic inspected the car and said it looks like the radiator was leaned on and broken, and someone attempted to glue the hose back on. I then filed a complaint with PayPal, and received a call from a representative at Mitanix stating that Yes they did glue the hose, but were trying to fix the cracks. He also stated that he wanted to "make it right" and if I had an invoice from the other repair shop that he could give us a partial refund to cover the radiator repair cost. He asked that I cancel the PayPal case so that he could use his PayPal account, but I only agreed to do so if he put our phone conversation in writing. He did not update the case with what he promised in our phone call, and PayPal closed the case. Once PayPal closed the case, Mitanix changed their story, now refusing to pay for the repairs, and actually offering to fix it, not for free, but at a discounted rate. Repairs are already being completed at another repair shop, so this is not possible, not to mention he told me on the phone if I got him an invoice he would give us a partial refund, and requested that I change my paypal case to request a partial refund as well. He never mentioned bringing the vehicle back to him for repairs, and knew that it was being fixed somewhere else. This is not an honest repair shop! They broke the radiator and then expect me to pay for it! read more
