Hold tight! This is going to be a bumpy ride. We called Mister Sparky in February about an outside power issue. We scheduled an appointment, and they sent a salesperson for a diagnostic, not only for the issue outside but also for the entire electrical system in the house. Once the diagnosis was done, here comes the negotiator, "Well, if you want to fix the issue, we can; however, it is going to be a temporary fix because if you want to sell your house and you have this issue, it will not pass inspection, not to mention the possibility of a fire"! Of course, we went into a panic because that's the last thing we want, so we decided to go with them. They filled out all the paperwork, and we waited for permits. At this point, we had paid the first monthly payment on the loan we took for that job. Nothing is happening. Another month passed, and we paid that month, until I asked my husband to contact them to find out what happened. Well, the paperwork went through the cracks, but they were going to submit right away. Mind you, the office did not follow up with us to advise on that issue. We waited another month; this time, I asked my husband to call the city to find out whether they had, in fact, submitted the paperwork. They confirmed that the permit would be granted by the end of May. We got a call from the company saying they had availability for June 2 at 10:00 am. We agreed! On the day of the repair, they are discussing coming in at 8:00 am instead of 10:00 am. We have already made arrangements, and you decide to make changes on the day of the repair? Nope, I will not recommend this company for its phishing scare tactics targeting owners, the overpriced work, and the lack of follow-up on pending contracts. Have a broken 2x20amp breaker for my pool pump. My appointment was scheduled from 2pm-6pm, received a call at 10.15am that there is an earlier appointment, I called back at 10.30am and was told technician will be there in 30 min. At 12.15 I called back and was told the technician will call me. At 3pm I called again and someone was trying to figure out what is going on. At 5.50pm I received a call the technician cant make it. Mister Sparky showed up to my house to provide an estimate. His estimate was high, but at least they showed up to provide it other electricians didn't bother even coming to look at the job. He tried to upsell me on everything he could and the pricing was ridiculous for a $50 part and what would've been 10 minutes of extra labor while his technician was here they wanna charge $1100 more. It's basically highway robbery. Things only got worse from here. I was told they would be at my house at 8 AM. They did not show up until 4 PM. I wasted my entire day waiting for them. Then when they finally get here, the technician has all the wrong parts. The estimator Francis took pictures of the plug and the box, then the tech shows up with the wrong receptacle for the plug doesn't even have the right breaker, and the interlock kit is not even here. They had nothing ready. I tried to call the company to talk to someone and all I get is a third-party answering service. I am canceling this job and I will find someone else because I don't think I can find a worship electrician but I know I can find someone better. read more

I had a rail-style hallway light go out that I couldn't seem to fix. So, what to do? For me it was Yelp to the rescue. I got on Yelp and came up with Mister Sparky of Pompano Beach. I was pleased with their good reviews, so I gave them a phone call and set up an appointment with an electrician for the following morning at 10:00 o'clock. The next morning the electrician, Frances, showed up precisely on time. He checked the various circuits leading to the light, but with no luck removed the light fixture from the hallway ceiling. He then determined that it was the light fixture itself that fail and no real good way to repair it as the fault was internally within the fixture. As I know nothing about light fixtures and I wanted to complete the job, I asked him if he would meet me at Lowes and together we could pick out a new appropriate light fixture. He accepted, we did, and returned with a new fixture which he installed in a most workman kike manner. Then, before he left, he checked out my entire electrical system which surprisingly, since it is 50 years old, was OK. I had Mister Sparky come in to replace a few outlets and move the overhead light in the master bathroom. The installation was ok but considering how much I paid. What I did not like was the fact that when they replaced the outlet in the master bath (Chris and Edy) they left an opening around the entire outlet. Edy used three screws on one side and left a hole on the other side big enough to insert my thumb into. Considering that the outlet is right next to the sink the holes are a definite safety problem. Shock, fire, etc. When I tried to contact Mister Sparky, I got ahold of a receptionist who said that she would leave a message about this safety hazard for the manager. As you can imagine, I never did get a phone call. When I tried leaving a text for Chris, who introduced himself as a safety inspector, again, no response. Any of the four times I left him a text. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone interested in actually getting answers to what could turn out to be very serious questions. read more

After the incident in October, we proceeded to lose power to about 50% of our home, due to a BAD 'fix". The electrician - WAYNE - was trying to fix what was causing our fridge to trip the breaker. Instead of running another line, he illegally spiced the wire for the outlet the refrigerator was on to a wire that fed power to my son's room, which was immediately upstairs. We lost complete power to my son's room due to that measure. In addition to that, we had a "panel refresh" that cost us $3400. Our NEW and BETTER electrician told us that the "refresh" should have only cost us no more than $450. Please do not use this company. We found out the hard way. Not sure why all the bad reviews because my experience with Sonson Bazin was professional and quality work. Texted 30mins in advice of showing up and showed up on time. After asking 7 different electricians and companies to the house, only 3 provided quotes. The other 4 said it was too much work and they WALKED OUT!!! Yes! Just walked. I bought this house. Built in 1971 so it comes with "old code" and a lot of problems. Previous owners did some of their own work and overloaded the world's oldest panel after buying a tankless water heater. My house draws only 150Amps so isn't conducive to a tankless. Back to the quotes - Mr Sparky wasn't the cheapest but they were close to the lowest quote but decided to go with them because Sonson listened and helped solve my problems. Check out my before after photos. My old panel. Same age as the house. Many companies quoted that they'd have to go through the wall and just install a junction box here because of new codes. There is no room to install new box here due to required clearances in front and to the side of the unit. Mr Sparky - Sonson - brainstormed on alternatives with me with installation on reverse wall. No extraneous cost was added where other companies were overcharging. I needed upping from 150 to 200 A new panel Install 4 light fixtures in a bathroom remodel, little stuff like dimmer switches, GFCI etc And my tankless water heater needing fixing that was a fail on my inspection report when I bought the home. Also got surge protection on the panel. Cost was $10-11k. Lowest was $10k even and highest was $22k!!! Again I hired Sonson because of his responsiveness and personality. Very relaxed and confident. Absolutely hard working. Master electrician. He also agreed to come out and do the panel work and grounding on a Saturday because I was going to be without power all day and with working from home, I needed to work during the week. They didn't charge me extra for that so were extremely flexible in working to my needs. Their rates are flat. They have a list of prices for things so they pick from a list and that's how they come up with the quote. The other companies that provided the quotes did the same. Have been so happy with their work, I recommended Sonson with Mr Sparky to my home owners association. Otherwise Work still in progress Permitting too for liability reasons. He attempted to charge me $360 but then acted like he did me a favor by not charging me for their bait and switch. If i could give a lower rating I would. I called Mr Sparky because I was having an issue where i was getting an electrical surge throughout the house. The technician that came out (Francis Collins) did some testing around the house and both panels. He told me if I called FPL to check their end they would likely cut my power because my exterior panel was bad. I was told a new panel, grounding, and a whole house surge protector would cost $9000. I agreed to have them do the work because of the issues going on within the house, like electricity coming from the shower. They replace the panel and FPL comes out to turn the power back on. 2 Hours later all the lights in my house begin to flicker and a surge protector catches fire. I extinguished the fire and called the fire department so they can check for any additional issues. They cleared the house and before they left another Mr. Sparky technician arrives (i had called them as well) and within 15 minutes tells me the house is receiving too much voltage from the FPL feed. FPL came out fixed the issue at the power feed and the problem was resolved. So basically I paid these guys $9000 to replace a panel I did not need and a surge protector that did not prevent the fire. During this process, the carriage lights i had were damaged, 9 surge protectors within my house, and my pool pump were all damaged. When i spoke to the Mr. Sparky Manager (Yamir Sandigo) and after several conversations, he basically told me they did nothing wrong. These guys are shady and dishonest. DO NOT USE them for any work in your house. They will try to sell you something you don't need. read more

I cannot believe how this company wanted to take advantage of us! I asked them to come out and quote me to replace the existing under cabinet lighting in our kitchen. The technician wanted to know where our circuit breakers were, and immediately started unscrewing the panels. When I asked him what he was doing, he started to try selling me piping and tubing in my perfectly good electrical system, nothing to do with what I needed. The worst part was that he quoted me over $3000 for a basic job that already all the existing work done! I had someone else do the same job for under $500. What a racket, buyers beware. Hats off to Francis Collins; our knowledgeable, professional, and personable technician who is helping to upgrade my elderly mother's apartment. Electrician they sent was a nice guy but he had no clue after 30 min how or what the problem was causing the lights not to work nor how to fix the problem . He did though sit down and work up an incredibly large bill to do work that he wasn't sure would work in the end. I declined but asked why he couldn't be sure what the problem was with my lighting . He said he would need to do a diagnostic . So I asked why can't you do one now ? He said after almost an hour he could but that would cost $300. I said forget it!
