My wife and I stopped by here for a mid-afternoon birthday lunch. It was enjoyable and I think the location is really nice. Service was really pleasant and we were seated promptly, even though they don't allow reservations for small groups. I had the chicken sandwich which I enjoyed but wasn't necessarily dazzled by. The bun seemed a little dry. I will say that I was quite impressed that they didn't oversalt their food. So many restaurants these days are prone to throwing sodium around and that can detract from flavor in my opinion. In this case though, the food was properly seasoned and the tables had salt and pepper to further season as preference dictates. Food portions were okay, but not what I would consider "generous". That's not necessarily bad but just something of note. I don't think dishes could be shared between two people based on portion size. So it's probably best to order accordingly. Location-wise, the outdoor patio is great but there's one detractor: most (all?) of the outdoor seating is in direct sunlight. I would have preferred if they had an awning or umbrellas available. I'm probably nitpicking at this point. All in all, it was a pretty enjoyable experience. I think ultimately though, the location outshines the food. Just keep that in mind going into it. I'd probably consider going back if I was in the area. read more

We had our wedding at Mission Ranch in late 2022 and it was the BEST decision ever. The property is charming and the views are stunning. All the staff were welcoming. The events team Rosie and Bailey were so kind, professional, and organized throughout the process. We were looking for a more fun/casual vibe, so we opted to omit/change some traditional parts of a wedding reception and got nothing but 100% support for all our choices from the team. My folks, fiancé & I came here to celebrate my moms birthday & mine as well. Let me just say this is how we will be vacationing from now on. We had dinner at Clint's restaurant because of my fiancé's obsession with him and wow were we amazed by our service. I'll start by saying how covid preventative they are. Every surface was sanitized after a guest touched it & all staff were constantly Sanitizing. Unfortunately they don't take reservations but standing in like is honestly part of the experience. The ranch is so beautiful & all employees are extremely friendly. Our hostess was Lonie & server was Bianca. Lonie was on top of handing all of the people waiting in line while also taking phone orders. We were the first people on the waitlist after all of the tables were full. We got seated fast & even though it is cold, they have infinite fireplaces & heat lamps for you to enjoy your meal even in the coldest weather. Bianca is extremely well educated on the menu & every one of her recommendations were off of the charts. She went into detail over each item we asked about. Every item we had tasted phenomenal & were each perfectly created. My fiancé & I will be returning regularly, keep up the phenomenal work. Clint would be proud! read more

A little disappointed by this place especially since we've tried to come here twice before and were unsuccessful. We were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and decided to try once again if we could be seated. We actually got lucky and were seated within 20 minutes. Now, I want to preface this by saying that this rating is solely based on the food. Staff were amazing! We had a server, I can't remember his name, but he was super cool. He cracked some jokes with us and told us a bit about Mexico and checked in on us often. Also, the older man who sings everyone happy bday really loud was awesome! We loved his energy! They made our dining experience really great! However, the food was just eh. Green beans had absolutely no flavor. My potatoes were a bit difficult to cut through as If they had been sitting out. Steak was just ok. We expected something more for the prices. But I guess most people pay for the views because aside from that we didn't think it was worth it. We 3 were diverse in our starters & dinner orders, a baked goat cheese app & steak main course, the beet salad app & scallop main course, & a huge fresh lettuce wedge plus a pasta main course order. In a scenic spot tucked in beside a sheep field, Mission Ranch is busy place on most days. I visited with a group of six and we were seated within 45 minutes even without reservations. There is outside seating along with indoor seating and bar areas. Service was attentive and the food was above average (I had the prime rib which came with double baked potato). We've been to this beautiful property several times over the past 4 or 5 years, and have always enjoyed our experience, even if the food was delish other times, and so/so at others (like breakfast, which we give about a 4 out of 10). We especially love the "grazing" hours between 3-5pm, when we have had the most scrumptious drinks and appetizers while watching a magnificent sunset over the sheep meadow. Being a vegetarian, I had a delicious wedge salad while my hubs enjoyed a delicious shrimp cocktail, accompanied by tasty garlic bread. It is a peaceful, lovely, iconic experience. Our waitress and busser were pretty on top of it while handling a full patio of patrons. One thing I have to say, and it was awkward and off-putting, was the rude hostess at the front. When we asked if she was the person to seat us, she just stared at us. Didn't ask if she could help us, or anything. Then she said "unless someone tells me otherwise..." What? You know who you are, dark-haired hostess with either a South African or Australian accent. She was so off-putting at the front of the house. My husband and I stay at the Mission Ranch every year for our anniversary weekend. this makes 20 years going there. The rooms are nice and a bit rustic. We get the rooms by the meadow so we can be close to the sheep. The outside patio opens at 3 and it's great to have a few drinks before getting ready for dinner. The restaurant is always great. We have never had a bad meal there. They used to have osso buco, but they have taken it off the list. I had sea bass this year and my husband had the pork tenderloin. We were both happy with our choices. If you want a dressy or casual experience - both are acceptable. They have the piano bar every night starting at 5.
