I came into Mission Brewery with a friend and it was a great experience! Some of the restaurants/bars on this street are easy to miss but I'd recommend stopping into this brewery for a drink. We got two half pours, one POG seltzer and one fruity blonde ale, and it was a good amount of liquid for only $5 each. They have plenty of tables and even a back patio. I went to this spot with a friend for a trivia night. It was actually really fun and a little challenging. They have a decent selection of beer but I'd say more IPA style at the moment. I hear they change their menu often. The bartender was nice and quick. It wasn't a super busy time but seemed more like regular trivia customers. There is a pizza place next door that'll bring you food if you order it so that's convenient as well. They do I guess allow children and pets which not really what I as a patron would want to see at an establishment serving only alcohol but who am I. It's a smaller space but it serves the purpose. The bathroom was a bit lackluster in my opinion. Perhaps I'm just picky but there are things they could do to make it look better for customers. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it I was just expecting something more clean finished and refined. It gave gas station bathroom. Overall it's a cute spot and the trivia night makes it fun. The people seem close there. I'm giving it 3 stars based on children and animal policy and bathroom. read more

Parking is street only, if they have a lot it's very small (I didn't see one). Fair selection of beers, nothing extraordinary but, everyone in our group found something that we liked. They do not serve food but they do allow outside food and they work with nearby restaurants that will deliver to table. Friendly service, we enjoyed the trivia night. Reason for the lower score is due to the fact that I had left my credit card behind, when I went back to collect it the employee sorted through multiple cards and handed mine to me without checking my ID or anything double check to prevent potential theft/ID fraud. We love Mission brewery. Great beer, great atmosphere. They have games available, indoor and outdoor seating. We can bring our dog. Lots of locals with their families. The service is always fast. We happened by this cute, little indoor/outdoor tasting room and decided to stop in. I'm so glad we did! They offer a 4-pack of beer for $7 with the purchase of an $8 pint. I enjoyed a pint of the Workin' 9-5 Coffee Kolsch, and the hub tried the Hopstronomer. I took home a 4-pack of the Waves of Haze Hazy IPA, and he took the Everyday California Coastal Ale. The friendly staff member let us try several samples before we decided on our pint. I'm a fan and will be back! read more

Love this place especially since it has free comedy shows every Saturday. The ONLY critique I have for this place is the host has been saying the same repetitive jokes for months now that I almost have it mesmerized. In fact the guy sitting next to me even finished the joke for him. The host always mentions the jokes of how he looks like a werewolf, skates and tries to "land a job", daughter is going through a goth phase with something about zippers etc would love to hear new jokes from him if he plans on being a comedian, there are other regulars who come and notice this.. read more

Stopped here before the NWSL championship game. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky because of the shops in the area, but we got lucky with street parking that day. I didn't know they did tasters, so I went with the Mission IPA. It was delicious. I was bummed I couldn't try more. The beertender was busy, but was nice enough to offer us pizza from the Yelp event that morning. Definitely a spot I want to check out again on my next visit to SD. read more

This is our third trip here since they opened. This is a great addition to Kensington. Great outside patio, nice open bar area with roll up door and lovely front patio. Dogs are very welcome. You can order food from The Haven (a few doors down) via QR code and they will bring it over. We did that and it arrived super quickly. You can also bring in food from elsewhere. (Lots of great restaurants nearby like Ponce's and Clem's Deli.). Staff is super friendly. This is definitely on our Kensington dog walk-stop rotation. read more

I am so glad I stopped by to have a beer and to have met Adam, the beer tender. He is such friendly and engaging. The place opened a few weeks ago and he has regulars already. This space is so awesome! They have a patio out back and a front patio if you're into people watching. Kensington is the place to do it. They have some beautiful people here! I've ventured around Adams and for some reason never realized there's been a Mission Brewery here the whole time. It's a pretty plain "store front" appearance so it's easy to go unnoticed. We had a dinner reservation across the street so stopped in to grab a drink before. It wasn't too busy so we grabbed a great seat by the window to people watch. I had ordered the west coast IPA and my partner had their cider. Both were delicious! We saw signs for bingo night on Tuesdays so we will plan a visit then! read more

The crew at Mission Brewery have rejuvenated the old Kensington spot and are featuring some top notch beers. Open seating out on the sidewalk in front and a small patio in back with a large bar inside makes for a very amenable and relaxing environment. Beers are in keeping with San Diego standards. All excellent. Their imperial stout was a GBAF gold medal winner. Kensington is a neat area, this place is comfortable and has great beer. Haven pizza is two doors down; will deliver for free and you can order from the bar. Theirs is some pretty mean food as well. read more

Don't get suckered into joining the "mug club". Mission takes your $120 and never sends out any sort of confirmation. I've gone in and talked to the staff and they don't have a way to look up members to verify if email is correct. I have emailed and requested a refund with zero response from the brewery.
