Had lunch at Mission BBQ today and wasn't really impressed with the food. I ordered a brisket sandwich and was charged an xxl upgrade I didn't ask for. The sandwich had potential to be really good. The meat was tender, but was way too salty from the rub taking away taste of the meat. The staff was super friendly though and did a fantastic job. I could have sent the sandwich back, but that's against the cardinal rule. read more

So good! Awesome, friendly, helpful staff and wonderful food. I was visiting my dad and went here twice while in town. Each time was just as good. They have a variety of sauces they bring to your table, it's decorated in support of the military, and they have outdoor seating as well. I probably wouldn't have stopped here had someone not recommended it, as it's off the main drag in a strip mall, nothing too appealing there. But I'm so glad I tried it. Shout out to the awesome staff, especially Chase, who gave us a free dessert because my dad is retired military! read more

After almost 2 years living in PCB, I was finally given the proper tasting and super juicy Fatty brisket. Yes I tried Back Beach BBQ, and it was dry, and fat was trimmed off. I Treid Bbq on the way back from Tampa as well, total ley down trimmed and I tried 4 others, all with their Meats either chopped, sliced thin like Deli meat, or super lean bullshit. This is the way! I usually don't leave a 5 start review but this places deserves it! The food was amazing the pulled chicken. I got was really juicy and flavorful. It's so easy to either get bland or over powering Smokey taste in chicken and this wasn't the case at all. The service was what I wish every restaurant had! The restaurant as a whole inside was very unique but in a good way. The smell of BBQ hits you before you even open the door and gets your appetite going! The selection is very straight forward so not to much guessing, keeping it simple. The thing that sets this place apart is the whole mission of the restaurant to support first responders and military and at noon everyday everyone there including employees stop what they are doing and they play the national anthem! I wish there were more of these restaurants! I would 100% be back when I in the area. read more

Absolutely FLAWLESS brisket. I smoke too, and I hate to admit, it's better than mine (I have a cheap smoker tho). All the sauces were equally unique and delicious. Collard greens are the best I've ever had (tasting them later they are probably canned but they add their own seasonings and tomatoes). Cole slaw my gf even likes and she doesn't usually bc others are too sweet with too much mayo. Can't wait to try all the other meats. read more

Normally have great food. But they absolutely went down hill since they had close and re-open. Since when have tjey ever put BBQ sauce on chopped brisket? Never have they ever done this and it was quite terrible. The pulled pork was also extremely dry. If this is their new standard, i will never go back. Sadly I'm here to update my review. Again I was disappointed by Mission. I had the moist brisket with baked beans and green beans. The brisket was absolutely full of fat. As in, over 50 percent of the total weight of my portion was pure fat. I don't mind fat but this was ridiculous. Yes I realize fat gives flavor and moistness. I've been smoking meats for over twenty years. Do they even know how to properly trim a brisket? It certainly doesn't appear so. Get your brisket on point and you could easily have four or possibly five stars. The sides are absolutely phenomenal as is the service. The restaurant is always clean, tidy and I love the decor. It's a great concept and I will always give them another chance but I seriously doubt I'll be ordering the brisket. Maybe the pork or chicken is better. We shall see. read more

Mission BBQ has been a chain that I have seen in several places over the last 2 years. I'm always up for BBQ but I did have concerns over portions from photos I have seen on Yelp. It turns out that fear was unfounded because I certainly had plenty to eat. At Mission BBQ, you order at the counter and your name is called to pick up your food. I went with the 2 meat platter. I chose pork and brisket. For my sides, I went with mac and cheese and baked beans with brisket. I always sample the sauces first with the type of bread I receive. Mission gives cornbread and has 8 sauces. This is my 2nd Mission BBQ I have been to. The first was in Tennessee and they swapped the Florida sauce out with a Maryland Crab Boil BBQ sauce. I definitely liked the Florida one a lot better! A quick rundown: North Carolina Vinegar Mix'er, Kansas City - a bold tomato flavor, Florida Gator Bite - a tangy mustard, Alabama White (have to ask for it), Tupelo Honey Heat - a spicy honey, Texas Twang - bold and made with Worcestershire sauce, Smoky Mountain - a sweet and smoky sauce is the only way to describe it, and my favorite was the Memphis Belle - a sweeter sauce with some smoke. The brisket was definitely the best of the 2 meats I received. I choice the moist style. I didn't receive a part with bark on it but my brisket was juicy and delicious. The pork was very tender. The NC vinegar mix'er went well with the pork and added some zest when mixed with other sauces. The mac and cheese was cheesy and homemade. It was a worthy side to get again. The baked beans with brisket was a brilliant idea! Definitely among the best baked beans I have ever had. I sampled the other sides except for the home cut fries. The potato salad has celery in it and made with chunks of red potatoes. The slaw is not creamy. The green beans is a worthy side with bacon and some bite to them. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! There is army decor everywhere and I did my part of supporting our armed forces by eating at Mission BBQ. I will visit Mission again in the future. The 8 sauces make it an attractive venue for me. The BBQ is very good but I can't put it on leg-end-ary level. Good enough for a solid 4 star. read more

Mission is good for a fast food style bbq place. I've had the pulled pork, the brisket both ways and the jalapeño sausage. All are good. Their sides are good as well. I recommend the fries and BBQ baked beans. The place is always freezing, sure that's nice in the summer but its too cold the rest of the year. Their lids don't fit their cups. In the area for a night and looked for a place to eat. Drove by and my wife spotted Mission BBQ. My wife is not the type to try a "hole in the wall" type of place. Mission is in a nice area and looks fairly new. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and my wife had the pork sandwich. Sides were beans and fries. I'm a sucker for fresh cut fries and these were excellent. The beans were good. There were many sauces to choose from and I suggest trying a few. Some excellent variations. Food is good.. service is always friendly and they support veterans. My kind of place! I don't eat beef or pork, so their chicken is always my go-to. Their variety of BBQ sauces is bountiful but you don't even need the sauce .. in my opinion! Quick/self serve picnic style bbq restaurant. I ordered brisket and was asked, "moist or lean?" I was surprised by the question And answered, "moist." Food was ready in under 5 minutes and I watched the preparer cut my meat off an untrimmed brisket and weigh it. The flavor was good but at least half of my serving for $10.99 was fat. I actually like and eat fat but this was too much. Any real Pit Master knows how to trim a brisket to a reasonable level of fat. The fat and meat were of equal thickness. Had a good flavor and nice bark but all of the flavor and bark were on the fat. Embarrassment to BBQ. Mission aborted. Meal came with two pieces of cornbread and no sides. Bought an iced bottle of Mexican Coke. Nice touch. Total cost was $14.67. Quit selling slabs of fat as "moist" brisket and learn how to properly trim a brisket. First i would like to mention that Mission BBQ is a full support of all our men and women of the Armed Forces (Semper Fi!!) kind of restaraunt. The inside is decorated with branch, unit, ensignia, and war memorabilia just to name a few. The restaurant itself is clean with fast responding service from the staff. Tables were cleared and wiped down clean as customers left, which to me is nice. Says a lot when tables aren't just sitting there dirty with trash remaining there for new patrons to look at. The menu is decent, your typical options of meats and sides. We were helped by a very sweet and informative young lady by the name of Abigail, who answered all of our questions and helped us with pairing meats to sauces. The baby back ribs weren't fatty and fell right off the bone *2 thumbs up*. The brisket was done just right, as it was flavorful, moist, and fell apart as well! We've all had those experiences where sauce is required due to the meats being dry well, Sauce was not "required" for ANYTHING i ate here. They do have a wide variety of them though, if you are into sauces. All-in-all this place gets no bad remarks from me. I would totally eat here whenever in town. read more
