The service here is exceptional and the food is really good also. I would really like to recognize Evie and Julia especially. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. The rest rooms were also extremely clean. We live in Sanford but this is now the only place we go for barbecue! read more

It's always a good time at any Mission BBQ! We originally tried it in Oviedo years back - and stopped by again at our neighborhood location (Lake Mary). This place is fairly new. We were craving BBQ without the fancy restaurant. We went straight to the register and order a full rack of ribs (10 bones) to share, with collared greens and coleslaw on the side. Ribs were huge! Sauce selection is fun to mix flavors with. Collared greens and coleslaw were the perfect sides to our meaty ribs. First responders and military friends/veterans get a discount! Food was delicious. Service was wonderful. The people are just really happy to be there, and the guests eating around us was pleasant to be around. read more

Wow, looking at the reviews on Yelp you might want to turn around and run away screaming from this place, but I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt since it's a new store. I guess the Chipotle closed and now it's a Mission BBQ.... Where the hell have I been? Two coworkers and I stopped in for Friday lunch and Mission BBQ was packed full. Regardless, we were immediately greeted by staff upon entering, and when reaching the counter. They must have had 15 employees running around keeping tabs on everything, good job. We were able to score a table soon after placing our order and our food was ready in minutes. I ordered the Pulled Chicken Sandwich ($8.49), side of Green Beans ($3.34), and Coleslaw ($3.14). My total after taxes was $16.02. I have to admit, it is a bit pricy for lunch, so I am worried this may chase the regular lunch crowd away once the newness of this place wears off. FYI - They don't really offer any meal deals or combo meals, everything is a-la-cart. Eating here for me would be more of a treat once in a while as I couldn't make it a regular lunch stop. The pulled chicken sandwich was excellent and I loved the variety of BBQ sauces they offered. I tried them all and can't say that any one of them were not delicious. The coleslaw was not too sweet or too vinegary, just right and the green beans were amazing, lots of broth and bacon pieces in there too. I could just drink this stuff down, so good. Although this store was slammed, staff kept everything very clean and overall, our service was very efficient. I highly recommend stopping in to check out the new location. I went to try this new location of Mission BBQ and it was good. I like the restaurant's focus on Veterans, military forces and first responders, I feel it unique and a way to honor those who serve. We placed our order and it took less than 10 minutes to get our food. Overall, the food was great. I got the sliced brisket and it was tasty. On the table, there are six types of bbq sauces, each one with unique and bold flavors. Staff was super helpful and going around asking if we needed anything and how was everything. The place is great and is not too loud. Some silly comment is that there was a lady going around the tables with sample brownies. I said oh cool we can try them and the lady completely skipped our table. She gave samples to the two tables next to us but not us. I know I know... silly complaint. read more

Just left the Lake Mary location. The place was buzzing. We ordered and got our food in less than 15 minutes. They are on the ball. The AM came and introduced herself and checked on our food. We ordered the moist brisket, ribs , wings and coleslaw. They give you cornbread. The cornbread was too dry. Has a nice flavor though. I mentioned this to the AM. Ribs were great, no sauce needed. The brisket was also very good, nice and tender. No sauce needed. The wings were a bit of a disappointment. Some were dry from the flash frying. I'm a wing person. I'll probably pass on the wings next time. We will definitely be going back. Plenty of yummy sides left to try and more ribs and brisket. Give it a try. It is definitely worth it. read more

This is a newer location. It looks nice, but there isn't enough booth seating. Our order taker took her time to explain the menu to us. We ordered the dry brisket i.e. low fat. Everything comes ala cart. They don't have combo meals. We ordered a drink with one side. You have the option to order a drink with two sides for a higher cost. We liked the brisket. For some of us the bark overpowered the meat's flavor. Our favorite barbecue sauce was the Smokey flavor. As for the cost it's high for what you get. read more

I will start off by saying the service was top notch, hats off to y'all! The bf and I stopped in for lunch after a few recommendations... totally forgetting it is Father's Day. Holy smokes, this place was SLAMMED, not an open table to be found other that the outside patio (hard pass, way too hot for that) BUT we did notice that the turnover was moving rather quickly so we found a table by the time they called our name. We both order the brisket (50/50) lean and fatty.. Mac-n-Cheese, I had the slaw, and he had the baked beans. When I noticed they had banana pudding we both knew that was a must! So to keep the rest short and sweet; the brisket was good, it needed your choice of bbq sauce, lacked in flavor but the texture was nice. Mac-n-Cheese was amazing, creamy, cheesy, gooey, definitely will order again. The cole slaw was aiight, nothing special, wouldn't order again. The bf got the baked beans, they were solid! Both platters served with a slice of cornbread (honestly, didn't get to try it bc we were both too stuffed, it's in my to-go box). Last but not least the banana pudding... DELICIOUS! Light and airy, sweet and crunchy, the perfect bit of fresh bananas. Def recommend, hoping to try the cobbler next! Will we be back? YES! So many more options to try off the menu. 4 stars you ask...? 4 stars because I've definitely eaten 5 star quality bbq and I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants. I've eaten at both of their locations, in Oviedo as well as the Lake Mary loc. They are extremely friendly and helpful and the food portions are generous! They cater to veterans and show genuine hospitality for us veterans, complete with pledge at noon. When I returned from my tour of duty in Vietnam we were cautioned about wearing our uniforms when returning home to the airports thanks to Hanoi Jane Fonda and the draft dodgers and protesters. Mission BBQ however helps make up for that!!! I really appreciate this restaurant!!! Thank all of you!!!! read more

Man, this place is a chain?!?! When we are out of town (we're from TX), we try to find a local hot spot for good eats. We popped in this place and WOW. haven't been this impressed with brisket since...well....finally perfecting my own. The smell in the place is perfect, the service is fantastic, the place is super clean, and I am definitley partial to the Armed Forces motif. The cornbread was solid, as was the Mac and cheese, but....THE BRISKET. That's the measuring stick of a BBQ place to me, and it was fantastic. Kudos to this place. The restaurant has only been open a week. I despise giving a new operation a poor rating but hopefully, the owners can learn from it. The good: We were immediately greeted with friendly smiles and realization this was our first time here. The business model was clearly explained and recommendations provided at my request. Everything seemed exceptionally clean and well organized. In my book, this is paramount because it requires good management and understanding of the fundamentals. The bad: The meat was overcooked and pricing isn't worth the amount or quality. We ordered 2 racks of ribs, cold slaw (good!), beans (overly sweet), fries (plenty!), and sausage (ok). Chaos. No one knew anything. Every question was, an I don't know. There is a bad odor, it appeared clean - but the smell of B.O. was over powering. The cup lids were in a drawer, so everyone is touching them. There is no way that is to code. So many employees, but no direction. The building was cute. The BBQ sauces didn't go with the rub on the meat. They clashed. I was so looking forward to a new place to eat in Lake Mary, but I won't be back. read more
