I had to come back and show some more love to my favorite Pilates studio in Westlake: Elan Pilates…read more This studio has my heart! A special shout out to Tatiana for incorporating strength training alongside Pilates. Ladies, if you're still holding on to the idea that women shouldn't lift weights, let this be your sign to pick them up! What I love most is that Tatiana has created a space where women (and men) of all ages can feel welcome, build confidence, and discover just how strong they are. I took my first strength training class with Coach Eriika and happened to be the only person there. My first thought? Run! I knew she would count every rep, and there would be absolutely no sandbagging. But it was so worth it. Her knowledge and attention to proper form made the experience both challenging and rewarding. I even tried to convince Samantha to join me so I wouldn't have to face all that individual attention alone. She owes me one! Every instructor brings something special to this studio. They're personable, welcoming, and attentive, with a real commitment to helping you move correctly and get the most out of each class. You feel seen, supported, and encouraged every time you walk through the door. I'm truly blown away by the community Tatiana and her team have created. I pray Elan continues to flourish and welcome everyone who wants to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident. So much love for this studio and the people who make it what it is.

The reformers are the super nice ones - not the budget fold up ones that you find at the gym. The instructors are all seasoned in the art of instructing. The owner is Chea and she suggests that you do a session of private one on one classes before jumping into the group classes. I found this to be a really good way to get acclimated to the moves and the lingo if you are just starting out with pilates. She really concentrates on you getting your form down right before you move to the group classes. The group classes themselves are small - about 5 women at most, although there is room for 10. I have been coming here for years and I love the classes! Mondays are the cardiolates class with Karen that really gets your heart pumping. Chea teaches herself on Wednesdays and it's a more mellow class than the other days. Wendy teaches in the AM and she makes you hold your poses forever which is a really great way to tone your body. Plus, the environment at Chea's is so peaceful hat it's hard to believe I'm working out. Chea herself is a dancer who has been teaching Pilates for thirty years. She has worked with top celebrities and is an expert at knowing what works for different body types. My body has transformed due to my working out with Chea and the other instructors at her studio. I can't recommend this studio and this form of exercise highly enough. Last but certainly not least, her pricing is amazingly reasonable. For the past four Fridays, she's been offering a special intro class for participants at Cancer Support Community. This is the 8th year she's done this amazing program. It allows cancer patients, survivors, and their supporters to get an introduction to basic ballroom dances, melding music with footsteps and other dance moves. The My Health Studio Facility provides a cozy home for dancing. There's a good sized wooden floor in the main room, with evidence of various fitness equipment around the perimeter. A side room offers a small kitchen facility and lounge area. Two restrooms come in handy. A private aesthetician's office and a reception lobby round out the space. My understanding is that they offer a variety of fitness classes and workshops throughout the week. Parking can be tricky. We're advised that you should pay attention to the signs stating which suite the spaces are reserved for, and only park in the ones for #303. There are unmarked options around the corner. The studio is at the far back end of the collection of businesses on Via Colinas opposite the Four Seasons. The complex used to have green awnings, but they've gone for a generic tan color now, which isn't as distinctive. Neighbors include Five Threads Brewing Company and a newer wine bar that fronts the street, which will have to put on the to-try list.
