The atmosphere was electric as over 500 Poles watched the game on a huge screen in the main hall, which if often used for dances and other social activity. The club is a nice place, split into 3 main rooms, one is the hall, one is a bar area, there is a restuarant too (sadly shut on my visit) and a nice beer garden. I found the staff warm and welcoming to me even though I was alone and don't speak Polish. The beer was cheaper than UK pub prices for a bottle of Lech or Zwyeic, but twice the price of the off-license over the road! The White Eagle Club would be a great place for Polish food if you fancy a change one night. Otherwise I reckon it would be good to take a homesick Polish friend in need of meeting some countryfolk or just hearing some familar conversations, words and accents. Entry was free on the night I attended, but membership might be needed usually, I could not be sure as all the information was in Polish.

It was her grandmother's recipe. So I had to try and bring back memories. It was different than my moms but really good. Classic dishes (and personal favourites of mine!) include Gulasz (Goulash), Pierogi (dumplings) and Golabek Tradjcjny (stuffed cabbage leaves with pork and rice).
