One of my venues for watching the Euro 2008 Football championships. Obviously to support Poland for the game. The atmosphere was electric as over 500 Poles watched the game on a huge screen in the main hall, which if often used for dances and other social activity.
The club is a nice place, split into 3 main rooms, one is the hall, one is a bar area, there is a restuarant too (sadly shut on my visit) and a nice beer garden. I found the staff warm and welcoming to me even though I was alone and don't speak Polish. The beer was cheaper than UK pub prices for a bottle of Lech or Zwyeic, but twice the price of the off-license over the road! The White Eagle Club would be a great place for Polish food if you fancy a change one night. Otherwise I reckon it would be good to take a homesick Polish friend in need of meeting some countryfolk or just hearing some familar conversations, words and accents.
Entry was free on the night I attended, but membership might be needed usually, I could not be sure as all the information was in Polish. read more
