I contacted A1 on December 2nd about a problem with my screen door. After returning from a business trip on December 16, I provided more details about the issue. They said someone would come to take measurements, but according to my front door camera, no one ever showed up. On December 18, they confirmed via text--providing detailed information--that they could do the job at a price I could afford. Finally, on December 30th, they came to do the work. I was out of town for business again, but since my first experience was positive, I trusted things would go smoothly. That was a mistake. They did the exact opposite of what we agreed upon, despite confirming the details in writing. Nothing they promised was actually done. To make matters worse, they left my front porch a mess. I later had another handyman look at their work, and he told me I was overcharged, especially considering they just reused the original materials and merely painted over them. I am extremely disappointed that I gave this business a second chance. I am retracting my original positive review.

I ordered windows to pick-up and was even sent a contract/order form and reluctantly paid for them with zelle, the person has now ghosted me and I am out of $700. The business is no longer there. BEWARE!!!

On September 22 2025, my mother and I had these guys do 7 windows for us and its been a nightmare…read moretrying to get them to straighten it out. 5 out of 7 windows are installed misaligned, meaning they literally are not centered in any shape, form or fashion to the foundation wall. This is both visible from outside and especially inside. You can clearly/easily see how one side of each window will be all the way in and one side will be all the way out. 3 windows have damage to the vent screens with 1 of those vent screens actually having a tear in the screen where the corner of a another glass block window actually scratched the vent glass itself. How do I know this? I watched them unload all 7 windows out of the back of a Buick towncar where they couldn't even be bothered to put something in-between each window to help avoid accidental transportation damage. Also one window has chipped glass on the exterior of the window. 6 out of 7 windows have visible product barcodes that you can see in every angle that you look at the windows which is ludicrous that they thought that was acceptable to the customer. Their installers installed damaged windows that they had to have seen/known at the time and just didn't care. Their installers also left me a slop mess under the 1 bathroom wall window with mortar all over the place. My mother and I have called, emailed and I have went to their place of business which was unbelievably closed around noon on a Friday. The owner stated in a email on October 19th that they would make it right which still hasn't happened as of November 2 2025. We would have never used this company had we would have known that we were going to have damaged windows, crooked installations and a plethora of lovely barcodes to look at forever. To add insult to injury it sucks being told your right that they need to make it right and nothing ever happening as a result of it. I have tried to avoid filing a mhic claim but I have to at this stage as they are avoiding both my mother and I at all costs. I would like to make a point in stating that I have not called repeatedly every day all day, I have given a bare minimum of 4 to 5 days at a time to get a response and that just hasn't happened. We want them to either remanufactor every window or refund us as we didn't pay 2802.00 for this kind of sloppy work. I hope this helps someone else as what they did to us is unacceptable and they are doing nothing about it besides dragging it out further with no resolution. When you see this Mr. Scott Fava, I've been incredibly patient, please call one of us and either cut a check and refund us or remanufactor these windows and make it right. Update 11/10/25, we dug into Mr. Fava hard and found he lost his MHIC license in Februrary 2025, he has a 213,000 dollar IRS judgement against him, he has new and prior claims against him and it would seem he hasn't paid any of his debts in a long time. Do Not Under Any Circumstances give this jackass any of your money, time or consideration for his work as he isn't licensed and is literally out here robbing peter to pay paul as we are fairly certain he did this shit to us just as a quick money grab to pay down his judgements against him. Absolutely ridiculous, we did a pretty good overall look at Maryland Glass Block before we did business with them and wish we would have looked into Mr. Fava personally a lot harder. He robbed us of over 2800 with his silicone constructed, misaligned and barcode laden windows all while promising us he would make it right. His failure to make it right for us is going to result in another lawsuit as he committed a fraudulent act against us personally by operationing under the guise of being a legitimate business when he was no longer licensed. I will update this as the matter proceeds. We have already started the process.

The one guy who wasn't could barely lift anything and was on his second smoke and phone call break in less than 40 minutes of job start which was a constant with him. I'm pretty sure this same guy is the one who did the most damage to my stuff including putting a hole in the wall of my brand new refinished home. 2 of the guys were nice and seemed really hard working but this guy ruined it for me and is probably the one who could care less about peoples possessions.

The communication was very ineffective as I was not given the amount I would need to pay the day of service. It was also not communicated to me that you need to provide tape for the moving blankets to be secured to your furniture or pay an up charge. I also informed the movers the drop off address was incorrect and they said ya they'll deal with that later, to which it never was and I was receiving calls from the driver the morning of drop off at 7 am saying my address didn't exist. On the way of loading our furniture it was clear from the start that the movers were going to take advantage of the situation and try to upsell me in every way possible because I (female) was there by myself. The immediatly started telling me I needed to provide tape or pay $4 per roll. I did not have any so I opted to pay their fee because I had no other choice. These movers were using tape like they were getting a bonus per roll. They somehow managed to rack up a $100 tape bill yet my items are still damaged. They also continuously tried to upsell me saying boxes and items I had packed weren't done well enough and they needed to repack them with their stuff at an upcharge or it was going to break. They also insisted that my fridge needed to have all the shelves and drawers taken out and packed as well so they wouldn't break. I've never heard of this before and we have done a cross country move before, did not take them out and it was perfectly fine. I heard them drop multiple heavy items numerous times as well. They did not disassemble my furniture like they said they would. My dining room set went on the truck intact. When we got to my children's rooms they said it was a good thing I took down the toddler bed and crib as they wouldn't touch those nor would they be putting them back together. I was very confused since during my quote I was assured my furniture would be taken apart and put back together and the company we used prior had no problem doing so. Drop off was no better. The driver was arguing over the amount left to pay because again communication is absolutely a downfall at this company and I had a discount on all my quotes but not my final numbers and I wanted clarification. He told me no you pay now or I'm not dropping off your stuff (less than $500 was left to be paid and he had driven my stuff from Maryland to Colorado). I opted to pay through zelle since that's one of their options to avoid fees and he told me to just zelle it to his number. I told him I would rather zelle it to the company directly and he kept insisting it was fine to just send it to him (the driver) instead. He finally gave me the company info and I paid. There was obviously no regard for any markings I had out on boxes as fragile boxes were at the bottom of piles, boxes that had up written on them with arrows came upside down, and tons of boxes were completely smashed from having heavy items placed on top of them. The movers not only damaged my personal items but also my home. I found two spots on two different doorways where they broke the trim (one is pretty sizeable). I did speak with the company about the communication issues and they did agree that it was not usual and not ok. However I did email them about the damage to my home and items (I'm still unpacking and finding more daily) and did not receive a response back. I understand some of these things simply happen while moving cross country, however things like damaging my home and taking advantage of me being by myself and trying to upsell me is not ok.

The delivery itself was more challenging than expected, and both 10-feet sheets of glass needed to be taken up 4 flights of stairs as opposed to the elevator. The Hodges team (Bob, Matt, and John) assessed the situation right away, figured out a plan, and was extremely careful and cautious while handling the glass through the stairwell. Once in the desired space, they cleaned up the glass and carefully put it in place. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and commitment to delivering outstanding results. They worked tirelessly to ensure the glass was delivered safely and carefully, and truly exceeded all of our expectations. I highly recommend Hodges Window & Glass to anyone in need of high-quality glass products and exceptional service. They are the best in the business!
