Consequently here we are! I came, I tried it, I came back home... and here I am... The staff are very friendly, and very welcoming when you come in. After ordering, for the first time I was asked if I wanted to add any extra toppings. Seriously, a lot of places offer this service, but rarely are you ever asked about it. You may think it's a small thing, but it stuck in my mind. The wait time felt a little long, but I did go at a busy time. When the pizza arrived it was amazing. The drive home was a hard one, and biting into the pizza, the first thing I noticed was the dough. What did they do to the dough? It's magnificent! Maybe they did nothing, maybe it was supplied to them that way. Either way, it was really good. The toppings were plentiful and the cheese was nice. The sauces used had a bit of bite to them, just the way I like it. It was recommended to me, and I recommend it to you too.

I guess it had a lot to do with going to a certain fast food pizza chain when I was young, and also my parent's not being a big fan of take-away pizza (why take away when you can cook one yourself). I've been a few times, and while sometimes the pizza is passable, other times you end up with a greasy base, wet greasy top and dry toppings (yes I can't figure that out either). Why does it vary so much? Well I assume it has to do with whoever is working at the time which is a shame. With that being said the pizza on a good day is only ever passable. On a more positive note the prices are pretty decent, so if you want to take a punt and see what happens on any one given night then you won't lose out on much if it's not up to par. Mind you, little has changed, including the layout (and the doors to the toilets still have the old logos from the cafe Aqua days). However, they have changed the menu a little, and no longer serve breakfast (they now open at 12:00 pm, which is a shame because I liked coming here for a spot of breakfast), but it is still boasts the typical offerings that you would expect from an Italian restaurant (which means my brother still gets his spaghetti bolongse). They have even added a selection of gourmet pizza's to the menu, which is also cool (I had the yiros pizza, which was interesting) as well as some cheese covered bread for an appetiser (which I also quite liked).

Their kebabs tend to be the most popular choice (lamb, chicken or mince: lamb is my personal favourite) served with rice, salad and sauces (a garlic type sauce and a chilli, tomatoey one) supplied separately so you dip or poor if over your food as desired. You can dine in here, but to me it's not really a cozy dining experience - it's definitely more of a take away place. The only issue I have with Afghan Flavour is the language barrier - it is honestly really difficult to place an order. I don't know how many times I've been miss understood (the food is worth the hassle, but it is kind of a Russian roulette ordering system unless you speak the language), so if you like a bit of excitement and don't mind being surprised occasionally by all means pop in and order in person. It's a lot easier if you are only ordering for one but as soon as start ordering multiples... Well that's where you will face difficulty. You can also order online - I have tried this once, which is why I am here this evening, to collect... I would have thought this would be a fool proof method in terms of placing an order... Somehow though, we still seem to be having difficulties. They really do try, they are really friendly and despite the constant mix up, I can't help but keep coming back.
