Only after having had a fantastic dinner did I understand why it was inevitable to make a reservation. From the outside, that seemed not necessary, as the entry looked very neutral. The inside ambience, however, was very artsy and cool, and the place was packed (even on a weekday).
The staff was super nice and the newbie from Israel did great and made excellent recommendations even though she was unnecessarily self-conscious.
The food was wonderful, unusual, and offered a colorful and tasty spectrum of different food items. The mixed appetizers (gemischte Vorspeisen) was superb. The crispy dough, filled with potato and onions, with cabbage, parsley, and mushrooms was delicious. The half duck, filled with apples/onions, and served with Knödel was unparalleled, so juicy and tender, it was unbearably tasty.
