Needed gas, snacks and drinks to hold the family down before stopping at the next location. They have a lot of local brands and more healthy options compared to other gas stations. If you're looking for energy drinks you won't find them here. They do have some good coffee drinks to satisfy your craving.

Always amazingly well stocked. Friendly service too! We RV in the area and use this as our go-to resupply stop.

Seduced by the allure of the 'Avenue of the Giants' local access road that parallels the 101, we twisted and hairpinned and strained necks skyward towards the surrounding massive redwood trunks that line this fantastic byway. Pit-stopping in 'town,' we completed our java quest in this most unlikely of java sources, falling unexpectedly into a queue with other zombie-like passers thru behind a few tall coffee thermos-dispensers. the heavier blend was chock full 'o' sludgy goodness, and served to awaken us from lethargy pretty darn quickly. or perhaps it was just the subsequent sneer and yelling of epithets directed towards my traveling bud by the drunk-ass unladylike local in the adjacent pickup truck??!! Thus began my bud's confounding streak of managing to piss off a wide swath of local humanity in small communities throughout NorCali and Oregon Casade Country. For no other 'reason' than his 'look,' we suppose. Well, whaddyagonna do. The woman who runs this place (gosh dang it i forgot her name) was so darn friendly and helpful, providing all kindsa local tips and recommending off the beaten path nature finds, that it reaffirmed the sense of warmth and hospitality we felt wherever we went on this epic road trip. Such random acts of kindness ultimately overpowered the noxious undercurrent perpetrated by the local dregs and ne'er do-wells we unfortunately encountered along the way. DONE.

It's a great place to pick up anything that you realized that you may have forgotten or to restock on anything you may need during your stay in Shelter Cove. They really have all the essentials, which is nice and we visited here a couple times during our most recent stay in Shelter Cove. The town of Shelter Cove is a small coastal town so wherever you are staying in the area, this general store is easy to get to. As we pulled up, they had fresh vegetables and fruit for sale outside the store. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we entered the store and everyone was very friendly. The store is on the smaller side, although they were well stocked and had everything we were looking for. The store was clean and really well organized. I really liked that it was very easy to find everything that we were looking for. They have bear canister rentals as well as trail information if you are hiking the Lost Coast Trail. The Lost Coast Trail stretches about 25 miles along the coast and Shelter Cove is where people start or end this trail. People tend to come here (by car or plane since they have a small runway) to have a nice relaxing weekend on the coast or to hike the Lost Coast trail. If you are doing the latter and have forgotten anything, this is a good place to stop. They have a gift shop next door with items from many local artists and craftspeople and it's a great place to get unique souvenirs. An all around excellent general store to meet your needs while visiting the beautiful Shelter Cove area!

At 7:29 four cars pulled up to the only in-town store, which closes at 7:30. I was one of them, needing to get baby food and diapers for my 1-year-old. Nope. The clerk literally shut the door in our faces and left. Technically, she's in the right--7:30 is closing time. But it's also an obvious F-u to anyone who looks different or looks like they are from out of town, no matter how much they need the tiniest bit of kindness or hospitality. Shelter Cove is a beautiful place with some very harsh people.
