The food is inventive and multicultural, leaning towards Spain and Mexico (the owner is Argentinian). It was quite a bit higher priced than Barcelona, but our dinner was under $100 for two people including a bottle of wine and three large tapas. We had the cerviche, which had mussels, shrimp, calamari, really good. A side of cabbage with chimichuri and a delicious thousand island-like sauce. We also ordered the fish special, which was monkfish with hen of the woods mushrooms. So good! Definitely recommend if you are in Tossa.

Although the outdoor seating was filled, inside there was plenty of space. The red brick interior and wine barrels made for a rustic feeling. It was hot out, but the inside was nice and cool. The very nice and friendly chef came out a few times to check in on us, and we really appreciated his efforts. Our meals were fantastic. I had a grilled quarter/half chicken that was quite flavorful and perfectly simple. It came with fire roasted shishito peppers and tomatoes and I had some nice crispy fries. The toasted bread and tomato thankfully came with garlic, which I like to spread on before grinding the tomato. My friend had the paella with mixed seafood and really enjoyed it. All the ingredients were of pretty high quality. We had a really nice night, and the food was reasonably priced from our perspective. Head to Tossa de Mar, and eat like a king at El Celler del Vi!

Veggie paella is rich and filing. Made with asparagus, zucchini, red bell pepper, and fava beans. Add a little lemon - it really brings out the flavors. Note - paella takes 20 minutes and is worth the wait. Also note that it comes in a paella pan, but since we split one, they brought in on separate plates. Service is excellent, food quality is great and it is an easy stop going to our coming from Sa Caleta - just up the steps and through the castle door onto the plaza.
