A very special restaurant in a very special place, El Celler del Vi is worth a trip.
I was in Tossa with a friend and was looking for local style restaurants, of which there were several. Although the outdoor seating was filled, inside there was plenty of space. The red brick interior and wine barrels made for a rustic feeling. It was hot out, but the inside was nice and cool. The very nice and friendly chef came out a few times to check in on us, and we really appreciated his efforts.
Our meals were fantastic. I had a grilled quarter/half chicken that was quite flavorful and perfectly simple. It came with fire roasted shishito peppers and tomatoes and I had some nice crispy fries. The toasted bread and tomato thankfully came with garlic, which I like to spread on before grinding the tomato. My friend had the paella with mixed seafood and really enjoyed it. All the ingredients were of pretty high quality. We had a really nice night, and the food was reasonably priced from our perspective.
