I have been coming here for 20 years and they have great food and the best people. I have had a lot of health problems and they have worked with my food restrictions throughout from being completely vegan to changing to a low potassium diet. I started with chicken fajitas then vegetable fajitas then grilled chicken salad and now back to vegetable fajitas. All have been great and they worked with me (no oil, no rice, whole beans, no dairy) whatever I need they are great to work with my diet. I even have my brothers meeting for lunch most weeks now. This is our first time for a Mexican restaurant in Dallas, Or. As soon as we got seated, more & more families were coming in, by the time we started eating, the room was getting filled up. It took me awhile to find what I wanted, and I didn't want another fajita or taco. Instead, I ordered the Fajita Salad with steak. It had 3 large slices of avocado. It was huges, as well as many Fajitas! It was good! Hubby ordered the Two-Items Combo, Chile Relleno and Beef Enchilada. The restroom were clean, nicely decorated, as the dining room. Only negative, and that's when I stopped eating the Tortilla Chips and 3 different types of dip. One of the dip, had hair! See photo. Absolutely the worse Mexican food we have ever had. The chili rellano was so bad I paid 7.50 each and it tasted like egg. Barely any cheese and 1/3 of a pepper.. I felt I was eating a omelette. I was visiting daughter and her family in Dallas, Oregon and this was their choice for dinner tonight. It wasn't disappointing at all. Something I really liked about this restaurant was the sound. Even with almost all of the tables full - and lots of conversations going on, it was peaceful. Maybe there's something to be said for not having music playing in the restaurant. The staff was super busy and didn't havenough time to check on us. Luckily our food was delicious. We ordered 2 entrees, an appetizer, beer and soda. I was delighted to see my check, under $60. It's really different when you go to Miramar, and then Estapa. I've been told their own by the same people, but the recipe of their chimichanga, and their shredded beef is completely different in one restaurant versus the other. Miramar has a much peppery flavor than Ixtappa does. We prefer Ixtapa over Miramar. read more

This place is super delicious! We went here on a Saturday night and they were packed! They serve their chips with salsa, beans, and a type salsa cabbage. All were amazing. The carne asada fries appetizer is amazing and highly recommended. My husband got a three item combo (tostada, sope, enchilada) the tostada was good but get it without ground beef so the shell isn't soggy, the sopes are freshly fried and very yummy, the enchilada sauce is the best, the tamales (chicken only available) tasted fresh and very moist. Now for the Chile relleno- every time I go to a New Mexican restaurant I try their Chile relleno- this is not their speciality for sure. Canned Chile wrapped in egg with some red sauce on top and cheese. Definitely would not recommend the Chile relleno (only reason for 4 stars) when they bring your bill they also give you a sopapilla with whipped cream and strawberry sauce. Nice touch. Great prices and will definitely be back if we are driving through again. read more

I've been going here since I was a kid and it's definitely stayed consistent. I always get the miramar burrito, and the cadillac magartitas are always perfectly strong! The servings are pretty large so I would recommend splitting or preparing to have leftovers. I mostly order takeout these days but the staff is always very friendly. read more

Wow...what an experience... we stopped there because we wanted to try a new (to us) place. The restaurant was about 30% occupied. We waited in the entry to be seated. Employees glanced our way; but after five minutes of waiting we seated ourselves. Finally a young woman appeared, scowled at us and went about seating a few others. Eventually she arrived back at our table, tossed menus and flatware to the table and, without a word, left, scowling the entire time. Just moved to the area from California's central valley and I was terrified I wouldn't be able to find good Mexican food. I was, thank God, very wrong. Our group enjoyed every single bite! From the enchiladas, chili rellenos, and chimichangas to one beautiful chimicrema (new to menu, fiance ordered with chicken and devoured), every item was an A Plus meal! I couldn't put my finger on what was different about their red enchilada sauce from what I'm used to, it was a tiny bit sweeter with more of a tomato taste that was ridiculously addictive and magical. The salsa was spicy and fresh; perfect. The staff are very friendly and super attentive! Spacious, colorful and inviting restaurant that's great for the whole family! Not sure what's going on in this restaurant. We've been in here 5-6 times over the last 3 months. I always order street taco's and 2 out of 6 times they weren't to bad. Todays visit really was bad. They served something that should not have been plated. Tacos were dripping in a red oil of some sort. I brought it up to our server and she had a difficult time with English but assured me it was a new version. Well that didn't go well then I summoned another over and after I showed her what I got she was in total agreement and said they are having trouble in the kitchen with help. Miramar What a waste of a money for terrible service, weak food and a poor dining experience I was in Dallas for the day to explore a little and after a long day I searched yelp for a good place to eat. Not being familiar with the area I chose mirimar because it was highly rated and close by. It was in a strip mall and looked pleasant from the outside. But after we entered that was the end of the pleasantries. We were seated by a less than friendly gentleman. He didn't seem to be only a host as he had other tables but he was not our server. He did not give any small talk or greeting and did not ask us if we would like drinks. A few minutes after sitting I went to wash my hands and upon returning to the table a lady brought some water and chips and salsa to the table. There were no beans that were mentioned in the other reviews. She also did not say anything or ask us if we would like drinks. A full 10 minutes plus later, empty chip basket and no drinks a lady approached our table. No "hello" or "how are you today". Simply "do you know what you want?" Ok? We ordered a molcajate with chicken. It was priced at $17.00. I have had many other Molcajates at restaurants across the country and they are all large stone bowls used to grind spices and filled with meats and vegetables and sauce and baked then served to the table like a big brother to standard fajitas. Our server asked if we would like flour or corn tortillas and we asked for both. She asked smugly if we would be sharing the dish. I casually said yes because it has always been that type and size of dish. Still no drink order and she walks away. Another 10-15 minutes later the restaurant has been continually seating new tables. Our host who is serving tables of his own is very friendly to his tables but never looks at or asks us if we would like more chips. All the while I see our server tending to other tables and treating them differently, well. When our food finally arrived it was not a large stone bowl instead it was more a bowl of soup with fajita style chicken and some avacado and mushrooms. A very sad display of food for the price and after the weak service very disappointing. Nearly every page of the 5 page menu was covered in pictures of the food but not the molcajate. I should have known. The display was actually off putting as there was cheese melted in the bowl which dripped in the soup like slime. I tasted a spoonful and it tasted fine but it was nothing like the rest of the country's take on this standard dish. In the 20 minutes we ate the server did not return until we were nearly finished with a pitcher of water to refill our cups but never offered another plate for our meal as we were sharing. No offer for more chips and didn't bother to take away any used dishes. A few minutes later she stopped by with our check and a plate with three tortillas topped with whipped cream and strawberry sauce. What a display. I have eaten my way across the country from coast to coast. I am not a picky eater or hard to please And from small holes in the wall to large chains I tend to gauge each place on a similar set of standards. Professional standards, food quality, and service. I hate to leave negative reviews and almost always approach the management if i have had a bad experience to give them my feedback and see if they offer to make it right. In this experience I never saw a manager or another server or person who would make eye contact with me. This situation was just plain bad all around. I was not Nor was my partner dressed badly or disheveled. Not radical in any way. Just a plain couple eating lunch. It felt like We were outcasts for some reason. But regardless The service was terrible. The food was poorly prepared, barely edible and way overpriced for the small portions and weak quality. No one hardly spoke to us or asked if we needed anything. No one even asked "how was your food?" from seating to the check. In the end I cannot believe I wasted that amount of money for such a terrible experience. I will not come here again. read more

I got their special tonight. It was take out this time. Chicken chimichanga with beans and rice. It was covered in guacamole and sour cream. The beans were covered in cheese. The whole dish was delicious. They also sent with it, homemade chips and homemade salsa. They gave me the perfect amount also, because I am stuffed. It seems that the best chips and salsa are always homemade. I called in my order and by the time I got there, it was already to go. They even gave me some extra salsa.. they were super nice. Overall, the dinner, the food and the whole experience was excellent. I highly recommend them to anyone. Family, friends, everyone. Get take out or dine in. I have been here a couple times with my step-grandmother because it's her favorite Mexican restaurant. I like it too. My bf enjoyed the chile rellenos, not the best in the world, but good, and I liked the flautas. However, neither Mimmie nor I cared for her arroz con pollo dish. I made some great tacos with that dish, but my main gripe was that there wasn't a lot of arroz (rice). Chicken was generous, however. good Mexican overall but great for Salem area! read more
