He asked to speak to a manager multiple times and till this day he has not been contacted for an explanation, a remedy or even an apology. Mistakes happen but avoiding responsibility and refusing to face a long standing customer is unacceptable. We were referred to a different local cleaners that offer a pickup/dropoff service which has been SO CONVENIENT and much preferred. Silver Isles lost a loyal customer with us.

When I raised the concern, instead of taking responsibility or offering a reasonable resolution, the company dismissed the damage entirely, hid behind "industry standards," and claimed the changes were within "normal tolerances," despite the fact that the garments were materially altered and unusable. What was especially frustrating is that a prior issue with a different garment had already occurred, which they acknowledged at the time by offering compensation as a "courtesy." Now, faced with a much larger and more obvious loss, they refused any accountability. I expected professionalism and care commensurate with handling expensive clothing. Instead, I was met with deflection and a refusal to stand behind their work. I would strongly caution anyone considering bringing valuable or tailored garments here.

Total Dry Cleaners had the highest rating south of 595 so I decided to give them a try. The signage is a bit confusing, now as it says "Martinizing." I paused at the door, not sure whether to still drop off my dry cleaning because I did not know if all of the good reviews attached to Total mattered if the store changed. Someone inside saw my pause, and came out to say this is Total. Since they were so enthusiastic, and I was already there, I went ahead and dropped off my cleaning. They were exceptionally nice, accommodating, and quick with their return times. Their prices are also good. I happened to need to pick my items up on June 3rd, when the tropical storm was coming through. They are closed on Sunday, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my suits for a business trip. Not to fear, even in the storm they came in and honored store hours saving my day. I would have understood if they were closed, but was extremely thankful they were open. Vica helped me and she is so nice and kind. Total is a bit east of where I live, but for reliable, honest, and friendly service I am happy to have found a place I can count on. They said they cannot change the Total reviews over to Martinizing (and that they are still Total). This is still a bit confusing, but they requested I put the review here and not in a new business. Maybe someone at Yelp can help switch the reviews over.

Upon entering and being greeted, I checked in on Yelp to find out they have a 30% off check-in offer for new customers. I presented it and they took it no qualms. In this, I also found out that they send you an e-mail when your order is done. Needless to say, that's exactly what happened. When I came to pick up my order, which was a dress, it was lovely. It was clean, packed well, and I was pleased. I did find the price a bit pricey compared to my old dry cleaner in Hialeah, but it is what it is. I ended up, too, speaking to a seamstress there about a top I had gotten fixed elsewhere. I told her I didn't know whether to further fix it or not. She had me try it on, quoted me a price, and then actually spoke to me about the pros and cons about whether or not it made sense to fix it further. Given the material, how often I plan to wear the top, and the price itself to fix it, the seamstress was honest and told me it didn't make sense to fix it. Nevertheless, she would if I wanted to. This went on for half an hour or so, and well, that level of attention and care, even though I didn't end up getting the top fixed, convinced me of my return. When I have something that actually is worth altering, I'll go to them. They actually care about their customers unlike the other place I went to. Not to mention that they did a great job on my dress. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the price, but even then, I'm sure I may change my tune in the future if they continue to provide exemplary service.

If business hours are posted, customers should be able to rely on those hours. Another thing customers should understand is that the cleaning is not actually done at this location. The items are picked up and taken elsewhere for cleaning, which may contribute to some inconsistency. As far as the actual service, I would rate the cleaning about 8/10. However, the pressing/ironing is closer to 5/10, especially with white coats, where the quality and attention to detail could definitely be improved. I have continued giving this location opportunities, but between closing earlier than the posted hours and inconsistent pressing quality, there is definitely room for improvement. The cleaning was satisfactory, although I found the prices high. I continued taking my higher-end garments to my longstanding cleaner. My experience with the tailoring service was mixed: the blonde seamstress was kind and capable; I found the other less courteous. The alteration quote was also considerably higher than what my regular tailor in Bal Harbour charges. The evening gentleman deserves recognition. He was consistently polite, helpful, and responsive by phone. Unfortunately, my experiences with the woman usually working mornings were very different. On one occasion, when I asked her to contact the cleaning plant simply to establish when my clothes would be ready, she told me this would incur a $5-per-item rush charge. I clarified that I was requesting information, not expedited service, but she maintained that the charge would apply as they have to spend time looking for my items. After repeated unpleasant interactions, I began visiting only when the gentleman was working. The final incident occurred when I needed to drop off clothing before a work trip. I called repeatedly throughout the afternoon without an answer. When I arrived at approximately 5:55 p.m., shortly before the stated 6 p.m. closing time, the woman was already outside of the store with two other workers. She declined to accept my items, saying she had to be somewhere at 6 p.m. I found her manner dismissive and rude. I subsequently called headquarters. The person who identified himself as the owner said he already knew about the incident and believed she had done nothing wrong. He also disputed my account of the timing. Regardless, my central concern was the attitude: a minute or two either way would not change the fact that the same explanation could have been delivered courteously. Although the owner's tone was polite, I did not feel that my concerns about this incident or the previous interactions received meaningful consideration. We mutually agreed to stop doing business together. I have returned to my longstanding cleaner: the additional 15-minute drive is well worth the consistently courteous service and oustanding cleaning results.
