Inside it was super clean and love the ambiance. Almost tried everything on the buffet and can't complain about anything other than falafel and hummus was super bland without much flavor. But on the other hand Chicken Koobideh & Chicken Kabob the best flavored and juicy chicken I ever ate. Upside. Fresh and tasty food, excellent quality food for sure. Downside. Easily the worst food I've had in a very long time. We were excited to try this place and it's like stepping a time capsule. We had high hopes that this would be an old school treat, but sadly not the case. There is a buffet which looked like old gloop that had been around for days or weeks. We opted to order off the menu hoping that would improve our chances but sadly disappointed. The gyro plate was frozen strips that were barely heated up on a grill, the tzaiki was tasteless and clearly not homemade. My husband ordered lamb and it was cold and rubbery. I came in with a battle plan to get joojeh kabob but threw my plan to the wayside once I saw the buffet. I piled my plate high with all the classics: mast, salad shirazi, shireen polo, joojeh kabob, kabob koobideh, khoresht-e gheyme, khoresht-e ghormeh sabzi, khoresht-e bademjan. The buffet was definitely the right call. My favorites were the fried fish, and the khoresht-e bademjan, which was made with lamb. Honestly all of it was good, especially the polo and the khoreshts. If there's one thing I would have changed, it would be the temperature of the kabob which was a little cool by the time I got to it. My wife opted to order off the menu, and was happy with her veggie platter and tahdig (though the latter was a little chewy/ less crispy than we'd hoped). The buffet included bakhlava which was really good. I was stuffed after my first giant plate. Service was good and price was fair at $25 for the buffet. I'd definitely come back if craving Persian food, though may think twice about the buffet if specifically craving kabob. read more

We heard about the Mirage Restaurant from our friends and decided to have Thursday night dinner at Mirage Restaurant. Since we went on weekday it had plenty of space and we were seated quickly. We were greeted by our server and after browsing the menu we decided to order Doogh Abali Mint, Falafel with Baba Ghanoush, Chicken Sultani and Lamb Shank. First we got Doogh Abali Mint. It is a normal curd mint bottle. Then we got Falafel with Baba Ghanoush and Pita. The falafel were well toasted along with Baba Ghanoush was amazing and tasty. We got our rest of the order quickly which included Chicken Sultani and Lamb Shank. Chicken Sultani was also okay and it can be improved. Lamb Shank was delicious and I loved the lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked. It is a nice restaurant to try with various dinner options and it also offers buffet for the lunch. read more

Stopped in as the reviews were good and we wanted some Middle Eastern food. I feel SO misled, fellow Yelpers. It started off well with an excellent hot pita basket. We chose dolmeh, kibbeh, and falafel for our appetizers. That's where things started going downhill. I grew up eating Lebanese and Middle Eastern cooking with friends of the family. I also have been to the Middle East and eaten it there. I feel like I have a decent feel for what the good should taste like. The appetizers didn't blend with any of those experiences. The dolmeh tasted like it came out of a can or jar. I didn't feel it fit the menu description. The falafel didn't have any flavor at all - no parsley in it either that we could see. The kibbeh was spongy, the meat portion inside was barely there, no pine nuts either. For our mains, we ordered Chicken Koobideh Combination and Khoresht-e Qormah Sabzi. The Combo plate was the best thing on the table. The chicken was amazing, the beef was good and well flavored. The Koresht-e, I realize now was not the correct dish as it came with split peas and potato sticks on top. The dish I was supposed to get was kidney beans and no potato sticks. So my bad for not realizing that earlier. It was spicy and thick but not what I thought I was getting. I'll take that one for the team. However, that does mean that I was brought the incorrect dish. The basmati rice was fine, but it's hard to mess up rice. The service was good. It could have been exceptional but it appeared that there was only a single server for the whole place. Having said that, she took all orders without worrying anything down. She could have returned to the table a bit more often, but I'm giving consideration to the above. The owners were very nice also. So much so that I added an extra star even though I'm really not sure how I feel about that. Maybe we ordered the wrong items. But if you're advertising Mediterranean on your sign, I feel you should be able to back that up at the table. read more

Mirage Restaurant offered a pleasant and relaxing experience with its warm, friendly, and authentic Iranian atmosphere, managed by a lovely team, and serving healthy and delicious food. This is an amazing culinary experience. Authentic, traditional and 'homemade' food from Persia. Having lived in the region for a few years and eating with locals, I love that this place is here for us to enjoy. If you have not had Persian food, you are in for a treat. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, fresh, and constantly refilled in the buffet - the service was excellent. This place used to be my favorite restaurant until they changed the quality and recipe of there Kefta Kebob. The kefta used to be absolutely amazing but out of nowhere they changed it and it is now bland and tastes like leather and metal. I enjoyed dining at this restaurant with my two loves. We popped in one Saturday after spending time at the beach with our fur baby and it was not an issue to sit on the covered patio that has a separate side entrance. Our server (I am sad that I forgot his name) took excellent care of us. Being that it was lunch time we partook of the lunch buffet. There was a great assortment of vegetarian items which I happily ate. The spices and taste of the buffet items were excellent. I greatly enjoyed the yogurt sauce, the hummus, the tabouli, and the fattoush in addition to the vegetarian-style stuffed grape leaves. Our server kept refreshing our water glasses and provided water for our pup. He was very personable and friendly and we enjoyed talking to him.
