MiracleFace MedSpa and I had an agreement that I would allow them to use my face and likeness in exchange for complimentary undereye dermal fillers. I would get the procedure free of charge and they would use my before and after photos (/practice on me.) I knew there is bruising in conjunction with dermal fillers (I get my lips done and bruising in that area is minor and just for a couple of days) but they did not warn me that the undereye area can bruise for upwards of 2 weeks, nor did they inform me that because a follow-up procedure 2 weeks after the first is typical, there is bruising for an ADDITIONAL two weeks. Thus, I was pretty bruised for a whole month. No warning about this. I let it go. However, my main complaint is that they left me with visible bumps and hollowness that looks like a bruise under my right eye. I came in for a THIRD follow up where I was injected with hyaluronidase to attempt removal of the visible bump. At the time, it looked okay, we agreed to give it a few days in case I would need a follow-up, and the doctor took his "after" photos. I attempted to proactively schedule another follow up right after that third appointment but Laureen said she would "look at the doctors calendar" (why wasn't she able to look at the calendar that day ????) and never got back to me until a week later. However, at this point, I still had a visible bump and now this extra hollowness (hyaluronidase continues to work and dissolve filler a little while after it is injected) that looks like a bruise under my right eye. I informed the MedSpa of this along with photos and gave my availability for the week, letting them know that following that week, I will be out of state. No response back from Laureen. None. No apology or attempt to resolve the issue. It is now two weeks that I've had this bump and bruise-like hollowness underneath my right eye. Now, I will be out of state for the rest of the month and will not be able to come in even if they did respond to me, so am forced to have this on my face for the rest of the month. They bruised me up for a month, got their before and after photos while it looked okay in the office and then disappeared when I let them know something was wrong, leaving me looking like this (see photos.) I would avoid getting anything done here. *********UPDATE********* Wow, the audacity of this woman. I don't want to call anyone a liar, but she clearly lacks basic reading and comprehension skills. Let me reiterate and dispute her response to me (as well as a series of passive aggressive texts she sent me privately): -Yes, I clearly mentioned that we exchanged services in my review. I received fillers in exchange for permission to use my likeness. I'm not sure what her point is here. -As I have already mentioned, the doctor took after photos when the results looked okay. A few days later, the bump as well as additional bruise-like hollowness appeared. This is what is shown in my images attached to this review as well as the images I sent her before posting the review. ****THESE ARE THE FINAL RESULTS, NOT THE PHOTOS THEY TOOK BEFORE.**** They say the greatest advertising for a doctor is the work itself - are they really proud of this walking advertisement? (I asked this privately as well to which there was no response.) -Again, as I have said, I knew that bruising was a risk with dermal fillers. My point remains that there was no warning about being bruised FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH in their "extensive" consultation. -Yes, the plan was to follow up as needed but when I tried to set another follow-up, she did not respond back with an appointment date TWICE. For two weeks. Even when I told her I was heading out of state so the appointment would need to be before then. No one "changed their minds" about a follow-up. I booked an appointment to address the 11 lines (a single crease, actually...lucky me) between my eyebrows. When I walked in, I made it very clear that I wanted this crease completely smoothed out, even if it meant paying for additional units. While Marianna was very pleasant she did not mention that I would need more than 20 units during the appointment. After a few minutes lightly icing my forehead I was on my way. 2 weeks later: there is ZERO change in my 11 "line". The middle of my forehead above the line doesn't wrinkle when I raise my eyebrows, but I have full use of my squint/frown muscles. To be sure, I correctly followed all the post-care instructions (e.g. no bending over or lying down, etc). The very noticeable crease between my eyebrows is still there. UGH. After calling the office, June told me to text her the After photos. Done. Then, June called me to say that the doctor (owner?? who knows, I never met him) looked at my photos and said this was the "desired effect." Sorry, absolutely zero change at all in the problem area was NOT what I asked or paid for. June then stated that 20 units is a start pack. Fine, but why wasn't this told to me during my appointment? Why wasn't there a follow-up appointment scheduled, or at least immediately offered? Why am I on the phone with the receptionist instead of Marianna or the doctor? June then stated that, due to my thick skin (the irony!) I would have needed more units. Great. Again, why wasn't I told this in the office? I made it CRYSTAL CLEAR I would pay for additional units during my initial appointment if my specific case warranted them. The kicker: June sends me the Before photo taken at the office but fails to include the After photo of the same "frowning" facial expression I texted her. Both show the SAME DEEP CREASE. Really, really shady behavior. After I pointed this out, she called an hour later to book me for for a follow-up with "the doctor" (again --who?). The same guy who said this was all the desired effect? I'm leaving for Mexico City in two days, for a month. What's my recourse if "the doctor" gets it wrong? Naturally, I passed. Just got Botox for my TMJ issues, lots of teeth grinding so decided to come here for a quick treatment. I was able to book an appointment through yelp Messaging and it was extremely convenient and overall an easy process. I also requested to receive the treatment from the Dr. The building is in a great location and is very clean. The room where I was greeted by the Dr and where my treatment was done was small and cute and very tidy. Dr. S was nice, quick, and to the point. Just how I like it!!! I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me other treatments even when I asked him if fillers could be an option. He was honest and said "you don't need it!" Although, I wish he personalized the visit a bit more, but I am happy with how everything went. Hopefully the treatment will continue to alleviate my teeth grinding. Abysmal experience here, if you can call it that since I didn't even get the chance to actually experience it... Got a Groupon for laser hair removal and I called right away to make an appointment. First, they do not pick up their phone. EVER. Finally got through to them via text to make an appointment. They didn't have anything for a month out which seemed excessive, but I decided to make it anyway. Then, they ask me to give my CC info over text, which I don't feel comfortable doing since I have no idea who or what I'm texting and I already paid for the Groupon. I try calling to give it over the phone since they insisted, but no answer. Try calling the next day, no answer. Do this for 5 days and finally text them to say I've been trying to call and so they call me and tell me they were on the other line. Lie...were they really on the other line 4 days in a row? Sure. So then they say they "reviewed our conversation" and would like to let me know that unfortunately despite my upcoming appointment, one of their machines is broken so they have to move my appointment and ask if a month later is ok. A MONTH. Apparently they only have 2 machines and one can only be used by one technician so there's nothing they can do. No new machine, no fixing the broken one, no having someone ELSE just use the one they have to open up appointments. No thank you. Asking Groupon for my money back and spending it elsewhere. Somewhere with better customer service and work ethic. Edit: since they replied they have "no record" of me, I added a photo of Groupon suggesting I use my voucher because it had been THAT long since I purchased and couldn't use. I walked into the building, clean. I was greeted politely in a clean and pleasant waiting area. I used their restroom and they had a punny sign- "no selfies please" and I took a selfie with it anyway. When I was walked back by my appointment with my specialist she was super sweet and knowledgeable. I could relate to her fair complexion and she related to mine but mine was acne scarred while hers was like an angels face- poreless and glowing! She didn't wear makeup. I wanted what was possible for my skin- and she had it. I went in for a botox appointment- im 26 years young and yes I get botox. I love it. Painless and it works within 48 hours. I asked the angle face about what to do to have skin like hers and she suggested IPL (intense pulse light) treatment. I thought I wanted the vampire facial but i had breakouts so I couldnt do it. So I got IPL since it didn't matter for my breakouts. Let me tell ya. IPL should have a warning. I didn't know about it before coming in. I thought lasers...lights....how can that be painful? I had IPL for acne / redness here twice. I'm very happy with this place. My skin after is glowing and the redness is all cleared up. The treatment was quick and they gave me stress balls to squeeze during which I really appreciated. The woman giving the treatment is a registered nurse. When I explained I've been struggling with hormonal acne she asked if my doctor's had done blood work to see what my hormone levels are. I hadn't but now I will. It was important to me to find an excellent doctor to do some 'enhancing' and I knew I came to the right place when I saw the doctor in a suit! I was mesmerized. So professional! The office is nice and I was a little nervous, but he gave me some stress balls to squeeze and they really worked. I also got a very cute little ice pack at the end that worked wonders, but I'm getting ahead of myself. When I first went in the doctor looked at me and told me I didn't need anything. That was so sweet! I said, yes, I do because the previous work was wearing off and so I wanted to prevent there from being any gap in smoothness. He gave me what I asked for and within a couple of days I looked perfect again (hello, subjective!). I've been getting botox since I was 17 (nearly 20 years - before anyone knew what it was). I can confidently say that MFMS is top notch. They know how to inject in the correct areas and how much to inject so you don't look insane. Sadly some places have no idea what they're doing and would rather sell you more even if you don't need it. This place is not like that. BONUS: They have flexible hours so I was able to get an appointment at 8pm. This is my third positive experience here and I have no plans to go anywhere else. I came here with a friend to get Botox done and was extremely dissatisfied. I have been working in the industry and closely with injectable for more than 8 years. I was told I was being injected with 40 units into my forehead (usually when I get it done I only require 20-30 units, so this is more than I have ever had to inject before). Had to go for a touch up after 2 weeks as I could still move my forehead. He laughed at me and said it was unnecessary. 4 weeks later and it was completely worn off. Botox always lasts me 3-4 months and I am very young. Complete waste of money, I would be very surprised it the Botox was not watered down previously to injecting. The friend I went with had the exact same problem. I would never recommend anyone to go here unless you want to waste you money and time. Invest in a legitimate clinic. * Actually Lauren, I had a very hard time being able to make an appointment after two weeks for a touch up because you apparently only see people if there is a sever problem with how it was injected. Clearly it is not a "standard" protocol. It was not 99% of my forehead as I asked to be injected for my elevens because I could still move them and he said no he would only inject the top left side. There is not one bad thing I can say about my experience here. I don't know what all the bad complaints are all about. It's not sketchy to have to leave your credit card number (you do at NYC restaurants). There was nothing sketchy about the experience at all, right down the the individual suites that do not have a receptionist. RUN, AND RUN FAST. These good reviews have to be fake. If you've never gotten botox or filler, then i guess you would not know the difference between what is good and bad work. But there is no way in the world that they're reviewing the same place... This review is for Dr. Dimitri medevev or however you spell his name. Notice how nobody even knows this doctors name, and try to ask the "receptionist" what the doctors name is and she will tell you they have many practitioners. They actually only have one but are weird about telling you his name. WHY? Take it from me, I highly doubt this doctor even has a medical degree. He also does not likely use FDA approved fillers, as this was something else entirely that was injected into my face. I had a horrific misplaced filler with severe bruising (never had this happen anywhere else). Bruising can be expected, but Instead of filling my lines, i had now MULTIPLE lines on my face, with a weird blue black hue that has not yet gone away. I literally got the filler placed above my wrinkle, which made it look like i had double wrinkles. My bottom lip was injected too much in one spot that it caused it to droop and curl downward, giving me a dimpled chin. honestly, what he did aged me and deformed me for several months. For the $300 deal I paid for, I ended up having to fork out $1500 to fix his botched freak work, and still do not look normal. I should also add that there was no receptionist, the place is freaky, outdated and I was really scared coming in for an 8pm appointment. The only thing is that he is a nice guy-- but nice doesn't cut it when you screw someones face up. He is probably super new to "esthetic medicine" because i looked him up and it looks like he went to med school out of state or in Russia. His injection technique was shaky, and very aggressive. I truly felt the need to guide him myself but i just shut my mouth and figured "he can't be that bad". I went in for micro needle with PRP. Margherita seemed very knowledgeable and patient. The office had a good vibe which is really important to me. The session was pretty painless and although you are supposed to not see much result after your first treatment, I definitely noticed a difference. My cheeks are much more full especially in areas where there was some skin depression/scarring I am going back in a few days for my next appointment. Initially calling and setting up an appointment was slightly annoying and off putting. You HAD to provide a credit card number to book and right from the get-go they pushed for you to cancel your Groupon offering you a %5 cash back incentive. I declined to cancel mine and ended up having to wait a week to book since my cc was left in my car on the other side of Manhattan. Once there, I was told that 20 units would no way work for my forehead and between my brows (frown lines) and I'd see in two weeks what the doctor meant. This was told to me with the same breath that she used to ask if I had bought the botox using a Groupon, so it felt like a push to buy more. I insisted it would be because it's what I always get, and low and behold, it was plenty. Look, it's not entirely sketchy as some have mentioned. However, I do find the reviews raving about this place highly suspicious. This was no experience that I couldn't wait to return to. It wasn't a warm, friendly atmosphere and it wasn't a noteworthy visit in any way. There are so many real-deal medical spas in Manhattan that are legit spas and leave you feeling pampered and taken care of. This is NOT one of them. I don't mind the cattle hearding feel, much like this, but what will not bring me back is the lack of an icepack or numbing cream. Hi I just wanted to update you all on my botched Botox situation to drive in the point that you should be discerning when it comes to cosmetic procedures and not to be influenced by a bargain. It's been about 4 months and I think my face is about 15- 20% away from full recovery. So atleast we know the botox wasn't diliuted. After receiving a refund from my bank from the fraudulent re-charge from this company, they reversed it because I did not respond back to them in time because the method of communication is either snail mail or fax . So it is on-going to get my $700 back even 4 months later. Also, the last time I wrote an update , every time I got to this page , a "suspicious activity " alert would pop up saying this establishment was flagged for offering a yelper money to take down their negative review. But now I notice that the "warning " no longer appears ... that's also suspicious in my opinion. This was one of my previous reviews: I think my previous review was honest and truthful. I did not say anything damaging based on my biased option, but rather based on the actual facts of what happened . A month later, my face is still partially paralyzed but I have moved on with my life and accepted the consequences of what I chose to do... Only to check my bank account today and to see that they have charged my credit card again after receiving my refund 2 weeks ago because I chose to keep my honest review up on yelp. This is illegal and immoral and honestly just petty . I purchased a Groupon when they had not yet appeared on Yelp. Uncomfortable feeling trying to make an appointment it just didn't seem like a real business. Anyway they gave me a late appointment within a few days. It's a small hole in the wall the nurse and the Dr. we're there I was in and out within minutes. I have done Botox in the past and the results here didn't last and I did not get the affect I am use to I can't prove it but my guess is that they water it down. Dr. Schwarzburg is fun and friendly. I love joking around with him. His touch with the needle is very light. I barely felt any pain. The most important part is my face looks 10 years younger!! Guy friends I've known for 15 years have been telling me that I look better at 39 then I did at 25. I had a groupon for one year of unlimited hair removal at MiracleFace. I went to 8 appointments and saw no visible difference. The business canceled my next appointment on the day before and did not respond to any calls or emails to reschedule or to schedule any future appointments. I left a negative yelp comment months later and received a call from the owner almost immediately, offering to refund me for the unused appointments. Their laser had been broken, explaining why I didn't see any results. The owner then called and texted me repeatedly, telling me that I needed to remove my yelp comment because she had refunded me. I refused so she reported my comment to yelp for not having enough detail. Well here is the full detail. Stay away from these people!!!! Made my appointment with ease after a little phone tag and texts. They were able to see me within a few days and there are late evening and weekend times available. The location is in a large office building and the treatment room is very clean. Dr. D was extremely nice ( easy on the eye) and listen to what I wanted ( Fillers/ lips and Botox / forehead) we discuss what to except. I love my results. I feel refreshed and my lips are very natural looking. I have had many compliments and it's fun watching people trying to figure out what looks different. I was recommended to MiracleFace MedSpa by a friend and went for my first appointment back in April with the Doctor. I had been for forehead Botox before at other places but had decided to do some around my crows feet area in addition to my normal forehead treatment. Unfortunately I bruised VERY badly which is not abnormal but surely uncommon. I had a black eye for over a week. Also had to go back for a second round of forehead injections since the first weren't high enough and I still had a weird forehead wrinkle close to my hairline. That said, when all was said and done it came out really nice and the communication was easy. They were also very responsive when I was unhappy with the initial results and scheduled my follow up right away. I recently went for my second treatment with the Nurse and she was excellent. I had the same treatment of my crows feet and did not bruise at all. The amount she administered was perfect and it looks amazing. Also, Laureen is great at both scheduling and following up. It's super easy to text to schedule an appointment which is always a plus. I would recommend especially at this price point! read more
