The audiologist gave me a super examination and created the molds with great care. When the finished Widex hearing aids arrived, he tested them again. I have had many experiences with hearing firms before moving to Florida and this was the best. When one aid was failing last week, I took it to Merritt Island and it was returned this week, working perfectly, still under warranty. By the way I believe that all these aids, no matter the seller, appear to have been created by Widex and will be the little pink tortellini you will receive.

Two Rivers hearing and Costco also do real ear measurements. She also says she is the only one who uses data from a hearing trial to evaluate how much time you spend in quiet vs noisy surroundings. This would be funny in a sitcom. If your hearing loss is not that complicated, you can consider buying hearing aids for less than 1/3rd the cost at Costco or Sams Club. Costco and Sams Club hearing aids are very good nowadays.

She gets away with this because Phonak is a good brand and very few people would ever resent that they were only given one option of hearing aids to choose from. One naively hopes that a health care provider would approach these things in a more caring way. Dr. White doesn't want to invest the kind of time and energy into her clients that would be required to go over the different hearing aids brands and what they are good for. Dr. White also says she is the only audiologist in Brevard County that does real ear measurements. Two Rivers Hearing also does real ear measurements. Dr. White has a lot of positive reviews because we are so used to being rushed in and out of doctor's offices that we think this is normal. This is an example of the pathetic side of our modern society. A real caring and competent audiologist would walk you through different hearing aid brands, what they offer, and help guide and empower their clients to choose the hearing aids that best suits their needs and preferences. Please be your own advocate. Do your own research. Don't trust any audiologist to do all the thinking for you. You are smarter than this and you deserve better, too. I cannot recommend Dr. White.

If you have to call for anything, know that it's impossible to reach anyone on site, because the main number connects you to an answering service in the Philippines, who can "only schedule appointments." The offshore person gave me the number of the billing department, who I then called only to have it ring and ring until the phone disconnected (no option to leave a message!). There are no options to pay your bill online, you have to mail it in or call the billing department, which apparently isn't staffed at 2pm on a weekday. This place is the medical equivalent of a degree mill. Multiple offices, MIA doctor, bill bill bill, zero patient care.
