All of the people I've dealth with at UNC Hearing and Communication -- the audiologists, staff, and trainees -- have been top notch. I strongly recommend them. They also work with all of the prescription hearing aid manufacturers, so you're not limited to devices from one or two "house" brands as with some vendors. Choosing and programming hearing aids so that they are right for you takes time, skill, and patience. UNC delivers on all fronts.

Ryan took the call and in spite of having very bad hearing, I had no trouble understanding his clear diction. He has a warm manner and is patient too. No one likes to admit they need hearing aids, and I think Ryan understands this. He treated me with dignity and did not condescend, as some of the Big University doctors unfortunately have done. He asked plenty of important questions, including whether I had tinnitus. Tinnitus is a big part of my problem and even so, I nearly forgot to mention it! Thank goodness Ryan knew and asked. I was able to get an appointment at my preferred time only a week away. The waiting area is simple in the best way - no noisy screens or distractions - and the lighting makes it warm and welcoming.
