I went to this pool for the first time on July 7th-- $3 for the entire day, you can't really beat that. (it's only 15$ for the whole summer- a bargain!) They have decent bathrooms and shower/changing areas. They have a snack counter where you can get a peanut butter and fluff or a slice of pizza for cheap- they also sell iced coffee, sodas and ice cream. I went early on a Thursday and stayed late-- and there was always enough space for everyone to lounge- kids seemed to stay on the side near the larger of the two pools (also the shallower of the two 3-4 feet) and I was not annoyed by noise from anyone. The area was very clean. The smaller deeper pool (8ft) was not over crowded at all- allthough it was closed closer to the end of the day due to lack of lifeguards. It also says no diving- but no one seemed to enforce that. You've got to bring your own seating- or be prepared to sit on your towel on the concrete-- the view is lovely with the harbor behind the pool. The crowd is diverse-- families, retirees, the jobless? and college students-- there seemed to be a big mix of people, but everyone was respectful of space and sound and I completely enjoyed my hours in the sun. There is NO shade here to be found. They also have a little toddler area for the littlest kids before you even get to the pools. The only drawback is I wish it was open a bit later than 7pm for after work swimming.

Bummer, walked all the way to the pool, they only let you in on the $3 day pass if you are sponsored by a member. Seemed nice through the fence.

view of the deep pool (12ft). there's also a larger 4ft pool.

See all

Neighborhood gem! Great for all ages. The price is right, and the snack bar is great! But no more day passes for friends. :(

Review Highlights - Mirabella Pool

The pool is right on the harbor, and while swimming in the harbor seems like a gross, dangerous idea, swimming next to the harbor is great.

The crowd is mostly parents with kids, and teenagers. Families bring rings, kickboards, and other water toys in. It's a very relaxed local vibe. You can come in with a stroller. No shade in the middle of the day, but there is reasonable shade in the later afternoon. Capacity is capped at 100. Adults need proof of Cambridge residency (license, water bill, etc.). Kids do not need an ID.

Charge me seventy-five cents to get in, and make me bring my own deck chair and snacks. I'll love you for it, because I'm easy, and not just because you're like a mile from my apartment. Today was 90-plus degrees and sunny. Some people retreated indoors, camping out in movie theaters or hiding in their homes to do sexual things with ice cubes. I disdain such shrinking violets, and prefer to embrace the swelter with a book, a big bottle of water, shades, tunes, and a swimming pool five steps away. Get wet, take a few laps, and be cool for half an hour of reading, easy. Rinse, repeat. Pause occasionally to take in the scene, and take note of potential cannonballers who'll splash water all over your reading material. There's shade against the locker rooms if you are fish-belly white (like me) and a little set of sprinklers over by the shallow end. Remember your sunscreen!

I think it would be nicer if they had all the rooms organized by category but that is a smaller detail. The cardio space had a nice variety of equipment. I watched the ping pong players for about 20 minutes. It was wild! So competitive and engaging. The pool was nice. I didn't get into it because there was a lot of people swimming laps. It didn't seem like the chill out relax type of pool so keep that in mind. The staff was friendly enough and most of the facility was quite clean. I would definitely come back

Review: I had a deeply disappointing experience working at…read more YMCA Chinatown The workplace conditions were far below professional standards, making it difficult for both staff and children to thrive. For starters, the environment was chaotic and poorly managed. Staff were frequently overworked and undervalued, with little support from leadership. It felt as though maintaining adequate staffing levels was never a priority, leaving employees to juggle an overwhelming number of responsibilities. This created unnecessary stress and burnout, making it impossible to provide the high level of care and attention that children deserve. For the children, the atmosphere was less than ideal. The lack of proper organization meant that schedules and routines were inconsistent, leaving kids feeling unsettled and frustrated. The classroom materials and resources were outdated or inadequate, limiting opportunities for creative and meaningful learning experiences. Safety protocols also appeared to be poorly enforced, which was extremely concerning. Additionally, the leadership team was unapproachable and dismissive of staff concerns. Suggestions for improvement were either ignored or met with resistance. It felt like their primary focus was on cutting costs rather than investing in the well-being of staff and the children in their care. Overall, this was not a positive environment for either employees or the children. I hope management takes immediate action to address these issues because the current state of the program is unacceptable. Maggie, Najee for you two to go the length for not just an employee but a parent! Fired her made sure she doesn't get unemployment then kick her child out is outrageous! And overall sad !!!
