This is the playground. Not the youngest equipment. But it was fine!

I love this place! On a hot summer day, I took my three year old and he had the time of his life!! Perfect place for that age kid! I felt safe with him and many parents with kids the same age. The pool, park, playground and water splash area are perfect compliments. Add in the great timing of the ice cream girl and it was heaven for him! Will be returning often!

Very nice and clean park. The 20th annual Lupus walk was hosted here on Sunday 9/8/2013. Great place for the kids & dogs to run around and for cookouts and large groups for picnics and gatherings. Plenty of parking.

An older playground, but very well kept! Ample parking, lots of fun things to play on, a cool looking wading pool for summer fun, and a splash pad. As an added bonus, you can watch rowing crews on the river, or take a walk or bike ride on the path!

This is a really pretty park right off Soldier's Field Road. Not only are there a couple different trails, there's a great route for running a 5K. I just did a race over here and it was quite pretty!

Playground, splash pad for toddlers and a low level pool for the older kids. They also have a couple playgrounds

The Boston Common Frog Pond - Skating away!

Romantic notion when you're pretty much skating on concrete?…read more The admission fee and rentals make this spot totally not worth. You're really only here for the location and that nebulous "romantic feel". The ice itself is atrocious, even though the rink (and I use that term lightly) does get a Zamboni out from time-to-time. But the ice is so uneven. You can see concrete in some spots, with how some of the ice is so thin. You'll encounter a lot of folks that cannot stay vertical on skates, it's just the reality. Don't be surprised when someone behind you suddenly grabs you in desperation to prevent themselves from falling. Plus it's super crowded here during peak times. There are so many other nearby spots of grab better and more affordable concessions, so don't fall for the ones here.

Unfortunately when I went I needed my blades sharpened but the guy who could do that wasn't there, oh well next time. Went to go get a locker and u have to pay for it when u enter and it just wasn't clear and I felt like I was cutting the long line by getting a locker. Stopped and grabbed a lil snack and my friend and I both got the 50/50 and fries were good but they had the best onion ring I've ever had! If you have them I recommend bringing your own skates to save time and money but a great activity for almost any age

A unique modern playground right near the Children's Museum in Seaport!…read more This park was designed in honor of the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombing. This is not your typical playground. There are multiple sections of the park, which make it great for exploring. You turn a corner and cross a bridge and you're in a new space with new features! In the lower section, there is a water garden with misting fountains turned on during the warmer months. There are plenty of benches for taking a rest or snack time among the well-maintained greenery. I'd say for kiddos under 2, maybe even 3, playing on the pirate ship and near the slides definitely needs close adult supervision. The plank up the hill to the ship is quite steep, as are the two slides on the other side of the park. Definitely worth the trek into Seaport with your little ones!

The Esplanade was a revelation, one of the highlights of my trip to Boston!…read more We took the T-red, got off Charles/MGH and it was a short walk to the Esplanade, a few miles alongside Charles Rivers with beautiful views of the river, wild life, the bridge and the city! We went on a Saturday morning, locals were walking, jogging, sitting on a bench drinking their coffee. Teams were out in the water roving, a nice visual Boston cliche that you see in movies, but I got to see for real. You can walk for miles here, till you get to the BU Bridge in parallel with the beautiful houses of Beacon Hill. Nice nature, cute bridges, birds, peaceful spots to stop by and look at the water, enjoy a book or a coffee. Nice locals offered to take our photos and we enjoyed chatted with. Beautiful sculptures, clean restrooms, lots of greenery. Great spot for a picnic also. I am sure it's pretty here at sunset. I am sure they have events here as well. My husband regrets not knowing about it. He went to Boston University and walked the BU Beach and the Bridge, but wasn't aware of this part. He would have loved to come here for peaceful walks and some reading. We didn't want to leave. A must see place in Boston!

There were so many slides and equipment for the kids to climb and slide and jump. While there were a lot of people and kids, it didn't feel out of control, most people there seemed to be attentive. The playground area was a artificial spongey turf and definitely makes it safer for the kids when they topple over. LOL There were benches under trees for parents/guardians to sit while safely observing the kids play. When the sun shifts, it gets really hot in the summer. Bring an umbrella for shade if you aren't able to find a seat under a tree. The bonus we hadn't expected - the water part of the park. The Kids loved it!!! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. The kids didn't want to leave...luckily we were close to the Boston Market Place Hall where they could get a cool drink and a treat - that was the only way we could get them to leave this fun park. LOL Highly recommend!

Usually this playground is for kids (not cops) and is complete with a rubbery soft ground. Some of the materials could be harsh, like lots of static coming from a metal slide and possible scrapes from the concrete. I found the area to be clean and safe. With City Hall directly in the center of Boston, this playground is walkable to all downtown staples from the North End to Boston Commons.

That's a good thing too because there is so much space and so much to see here that it can definitely take more than one visit to appreciate its beauty and all that it has to offer. It's known as the oldest public park in the United States and I personally love the way that it's laid out. I wish they still made parks like this. There are wide open lawns with winding paths, people sitting on benches or enjoying picnics on the grass with their dogs. I have seen large events here and even performers as well as family barbecues and groups of people just gathering to spend time together outside. It's nice to just be in this beautiful green space surrounded by the city skyline and historic buildings. I can really sit here and appreciate that I'm in an important City but also feel like I have this little bubble of an oasis surrounding me and keeping everything calm. It's just a nice place to exist and enjoy nature for a bit and it also connects to the Boston public garden which is another gorgeous space for just enjoying nature. It's unfortunate that I have never been able to stop here when I have had my dog with me on a trip through the city because I know she would love visiting this park. Who wouldn't?

Boston Commons is a normal urban park in some ways with a playground for kids, a pond, park benches, a carousel, baseball stadium, and food vendors. It's also part historic park with monuments including one of the 54th Civil War all black regiment, a plaque saying this is the oldest park in America and others. It's also a part of the Freedom Trail. There's also a small cemetery in the park. The park is both busy and relaxing. It's smaller than I expected but that may just be because it felt like I went through it quickly. Time flies when you are having fun so maybe distance does too. Boston Commons is a must stop on any trip to Boston.
